I had a normal life like everyone else. I lived in a civilized society where three species co-existed side by side, that is, Vampires, werewolves and humans, before I was burnished, condemned, thrown into Dangrandaga, the prison. My entire life changed when I fell in love. Jabari Dakarai was in deep thoughts.
Jabari Dakarai found himself in the darkest pit, the prison, the place he had never dreamed of. Everything was dark, he could hear vultures feeding on dead corpses, huge bats flying in the sky. In a distance, he could hear all kinds of strange sounds buzzing up which created a commotion. On the ground lie countless bones, skeletons and dead rotten corpses. Right now, he was stuck, he didn't know what to do, where could he run to? This looked to be the vast eternity of a dark planet.
All this came about because of a woman? This is the punishment he receives for loving a werewolf. It's not fair, the whole life in itself is just not fair? Why are there different species? Is it not to treasure and cherish their differences? Why can't superior beings let nature take its natural cause by not making life difficult or infusing it with stiff laws and regulations? Jabari Dakarai complained in deep thoughts.
All this was taking place in Dangrandaga prison, a place where the exiled from normal, civilized society were burnished, such as murderers, witches, thieves, criminals of all kinds. You could find Vampires, werewolves or humans down there. Now even him, he who committed the crime of loving a wolf woman, was burnished in this dark prison. Jabari Dakarai was born a day-walker vampire. He had never seen his parents, he grew up all by himself and with different people, vampires and werewolves. If he could recall rightly, among these diverse species others wanted to abuse him, others wanted to use him for their own selfish good and others had, of course, good intentions of helping him. He has lived all kinds of lives. He has managed to pull through so far, but this prison, on a dark planet, it's just on another level. How will he survive? It's like he has gone back to a time when everything was just chaos, where there was no order, or civilization. Here, everything was barbarically, ruthless and unmerciful. There is no sense of humor nor wrong doing, only the most insane and strong creatures have been able to survive and stay longer. All the weaklings become end meat for someone. He hid in a stone cave, waiting for the dawn of the day. Perhaps he could find a way to navigate his life in this strange new place.
Before Jabari Dakarai's life came to what it is now, he remembers how he met Veronica, and his life in Plagatoscal city. It was Sunday afternoon, the temperature was rising above thirty-two degrees Celsius. He stood in his garden, while stretching his back. The sun overhead burned his thick dark skin. Sweat was dripping down his forehead. Wetting his entire face, he raised his hand up to wipe it off. When a familiar voice interrupted his pattern of thought,
'Hello Jabari!'
He twisted his head and body in order to respond to that emphasized greeting. Unexpectedly, Alexander, with two beauties and a gentleman, approached. Their faces shined with beaming smiles.Â
Jabari gazed at the four people in front of him with questionable eyes and keen interest.
As he responded, 'Hello! How are you?'
'I am well and how are you?' Alexander seemed excited. Jabari had never seen him this happy. He went on to introduce the other three.
'Jabari! These are Carlos, Veronica and Freya.' Jabari stretched out his right hand for a handshake to Carlos, followed by a voice
'Hi Carlos, welcome to Plagatoscal city!' Jabari could tell that all these three were werewolves. Carlos, who happened to be short, his face not that scary, of course 'Hello, thanks for receiving us in your territory.'Â
Next to get a handshake was Freya, 'It's nice to meet you Freya!' She was smiling, cunning and zooming up Jabari and curiosity could be plainly seen in her eyes. Her low tone voice sharply came out, 'The pleasure is all mine Jabari.' As she blushed while she bowled, her head and the handshake ceased.
Veronica took an initiative, 'Hi! Jabari,' with her eyes fixed on Jabari, and offered her hand for a handshake. Jabari accepted her hand and shook it firmly with his eyes engulfed by hers. As he uttered in a low, faint, squeaky voice.
'Hello Veronica!' It could be said this was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.
For a moment, everything stood silent in Jabari's mind, he felt a magnetic pull towards Veronica. Her smile pearced his soul. A few seconds passed, when her warm inferno energy mingled with his. He didn't want to let go. Then a strong thumping sound rang in his ears.
'Jabari!' Alpha Alexander tried to break the bonding between the two. It could be because he was jealous and protective at the same time. Jabari Dakarai was a Vampire and there was no need for him to feel insecure. They were from different worlds, thereby making the whole scene really unnecessary.Â
Jabari Dakarai comes back to his senses and awkwardly covers the earlier act with the words, 'It's nice to meet you Veronica.'
Her mutual energy still boiled in his veins, like an electric current, and her voice was still echoing his mind.Â
Alexander proceeded with his introduction, 'Jabari is a member of the Dystopian Community, he is an electrician by profession, now a farmer and is pretty good at it.' Alexander gave an explanation, and the trio simply nodded their heads. As he continued, 'These three are from Canstania city, they will stay and work with us for a while. The rest of the information you will know if you come for an introductory meeting this evening in Dystopian Community Hall. See you later Jabari.' He raised his hand to wave goodbye.
Carlos, Freya and Veronica waved their hands to indicate goodbye and were leaving, but Jabari could not take his eyes off Veronica's.Â
What an interesting creature! Whispered Jabari to himself.
I would love to dissect her and get underneath that creation. But he knew that it was just wishful thinking. He then resumed his work.
At about five P M, Jabari took the guitar and sat in the garden playing a song to his heart's contentment.Â
He was also watering his garden at the same time. He usually watered his garden using a hose pipe. When the bed of green beans got full or wet enough, he changed the pipe into another.Â
Jabari had three reasons he sang while in the garden: the first being he believes that plants do hear him. To him, everything is energy and just vibrating at different frequencies. Plants love and do hear music. They so loved his music that they grew healthy and tasted good.
How did he know about this? Customers gave him feed back. How that when they were reselling the product, their clients came back and demanded the same vegetables and complemented him how taste they were.
The second reason he sang was to reduce stress, unburden his fatigue and tiredness. To release energy and get new energy, and what other place to receive spiritual energy than from plants? His third reason was the plants in the garden enhanced or amplified his creative energy.Â
Today he had to add up the fourth reason and that was to emit love energy to attract the beautiful girl. He is cutely aware of the risk game he so much wants to play. He made up his mind to win her. They say when one is at peace, trouble will be there calling you.
Jabari believes the words of the famous Neville Goddard who said, "All the world is myself pushed out." To him, Veronica was himself pushed out, a side he did not know. He wanted to know that other side of him. Yes, she is a wolf, a different breed, but he loves challenges and playing with fire.
Now the rhythm of the guitar was playing. He played the pattern about six times in minor chords of the seventh. He can name them jazz chords.
Then words started coming out. Following the guitar pattern.
"Energy! I am flowing in energy, this love is energy, I am flowing in energy, this love is energy."
He sang that part three times.
He went to the second verse and sang it passionately.
"You fill me with your energy, you fill me with your love and give me a reason to go on."
"I have had the longest night, my nights were the darkest ones, I never thought I would find light."
"You induce in me ecstasy, a river full of bliss. Finally, all I can see is love."
The vegetable bed became wet enough. He went over and changed the pipe and put it on another bed. As he was coming to his seat and resuming singing, he saw a beautiful woman, dressed in sports attire, stretching out with one leg hung over a big branch of a tree. She wore a pink sleeved t-shirt and tight black pants.
Her figure was clearly visible to his necked eyes. As she stretched, she could turn once in a while in the direction of Jabari. She did her workouts just in front of Alpha's house. The distance to the house was more or less like a hundred meters to Jabari's garden. It was non-other than Veronica.
Are you into me as much as I am? Jabari Dakarai asked, his heart skipped a bit, as admiring thoughts crossed his mind.
He was salivating at her, just as a dog salivates for a grilled steak.
At the same time, Alexander was busy with yoga workouts. About five meters from Veronica's position. It looked like they were talking, but Jabari couldn't hear their conversation.
She is definitely trying to seduce me, Jabari Dakarai thought loudly.
Don't play tricks on me. Don't you know that saying in the holy book which says, "I would give you spiced wine to drink, the nectar of my pomegranates. Do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires. Who is this coming up from the desert leaning on her lover?" And that is what I see you trying to do. Jabari Dakarai proclaimed to himself.
The monster in me is inferno love. Once awakened, it can not be quenched. Jabari Dakarai declared, deeply infatuated with Veronica.
Jabari Dakarai came out of his imagination. He was done with work and headed home. When he was about to enter the house, he encountered Boniface as he entered the main door. Jabari Dakarai lived in a compartment house.Â
'Good evening, Uncle Jabari?' Boniface Daka greeted him enthusiastically.
Their eyes were entirely locked, trying to figure out what was happening to the other. Boniface Daka is a human, and they share the house with Jabari Dakarai, the Vampire day-walker.
'Good evening! I did not see you today?' Jabari Dakarai replied, as he posed a question.
Boniface Daka was quite excited. Jabari Dakarai did not know what caused such liveliness in Boniface.
'Yeah, I was away in Brasion. Originally I wanted to sleep there, but I was requested to come here and help welcome the visitors from Canstania.' Boniface explained, gently.
'Will you give a new performance tonight?' Jabari Dakarai inquired. Boniface Daka is a good traditional cultural dancer.
'Definitely, yes, that is why I am here. Are you not going out tonight?'
