I thought you would never ask? How can I refuse such a request? Jabari thought.
'Absolutely, yes!' Partying and drinking was Jabari's thing, his response came with super enthusiasm.
Now Jabari understood why Veronica came with such a hot vibe. He continued, 'I have not gone out for a long time. I miss loud music, the pandemic really stole my joyful moments. I look forward to this evening!'
Veronica did not expect this kind of reaction from Jabari. She masked her face with puzzlement, but quickly erased it, 'Wow! Since it is a Friday! We shall have fun tonight, my friend. By the way, I am tired of Break Point Pub. Do you have any new place in mind?' Veronica inquired inquisitively.
Jabari had introduced Veronica to Break Point Pub because it was the nearest and demanded less expense.
'As a matter of fact, I do!' Jabari came out with extreme confidence that could be clearly heard in his masculine voice.
'How do we get there? Do we need to book a cab?' Veronica considered and thought about the movement carefully before she posed her question: if it was far? Which she was supposedly sure it must be. If not, the two would have already visited it.
'Not at all, but we will have to walk a great distance. Which, I think, will not be a problem for you and me, since we both like to walk a lot. We can pick a cab when coming back.' Jabari Dakarai explained while a cute smile flashed on his face.
Veronica's excitement kept growing as she discovered that they had a lot of things in common. 'Cool! It's a deal, my friend, I cannot wait for that moment to come forth.' Veronica burst out loud with excitement in her voice.
'Can we start off at seventeen hours? Immediately after, I am free from my work?' Veronica had to set things in motion, always very organized.
Jabari was taken by her joyful and inexplicable joy.
Jabari Dakarai's mood also picked up very swiftly, he needed an outing so desperately. Well, he couldn't express it on his face, but in his heart there was an abundance of joy and gladness.
'Sure, that's perfect timing for me as well.' Jabari Dakarai stated his thoughts on the matter at hand.
As their eyes intersected and locked. She pulled back her eyes, in readiness to go, 'See you after work then?' Veronica gave a cheerful grin of goodbye.
'See you later.' Jabari Dakarai gave a friendly smile, concealing his emotions.
She walked away in a lively mood. Some days back, Jabari had the courage to propose to Veronica, but he was turned down. She made her thoughts clear that the friendship they have is more important, and if sex came in between them, it could demolish the friendship, according to her experience. Jabari Dakarai did not argue, because he had less experience of relationships. She also added the issue of both of them coming from different worlds and the consequences that might fall on them. That can not be ignored.
Back at Alpha's House, the two beauties could not help it, but talked about their experiences from the past few days. It had been a while since they touched these subjects.
'Olivia, are you making any progress?' Freya drops out whatever things are in her mind like a bomb.
'What progress?' Olivia was pretty confused and had a curious face with serious wrinkles formed on her forehead.
'The creature you crave. If my memory is right you stated that you would find a way to get close to Jabari. Is there any progress?' Freya asked, with curiosity written allover her face.
Olivia felt a bit ashamed and pathetic because she did not do what she was supposed to do, but buried her burning desire inside her heart.
'Not yet, I can't seem to go through him. He is so complicated and, at the same time, is also playing with fire.' Olivia replied shyly.
Freya's mischievous smile was painted on her face. 'You mean Veronica? As far as I am aware, they are just ordinary friends?' Freya put forward the idea.
Olivia was already aware of that very fact. However, as time went on, she could see the distance between her and Jabari Dakarai become wide while Veronica drew closer to Jabari Dakarai from time to time.
'If I am being honest, I am envious of her.' Olivia confessed unashamedly.
'I don't like her either, she stalks her nose in almost everything. She always wants to be in the spotlight, she is so annoying. Anyway, forget about that one. I noticed one thing about you?' Freya was prompted to express how she looked and felt about Veronica.
'What?' Olivia knit her face with curiosity, longing for what would come next from Freya's frantic and hasty to speak her mind. Throwing Freya an inquiring gaze as she frowned.
Freya smiled mischievously, not knowing how to put out her next words in an unoffensive way as her hesitation plainly became visible, she reluctantly loosed up, 'You spend too much time chatting with your boyfriend on phone, how can you have time for another species? You know what they say?' Freya paused momentarily just to get Olivia's complete attention, 'You can't save two masters at the same time. I advise you to make up your mind if you truly want him. There is no such a thing as balancing. You cannot be warm and cold at the same time. Therefore, make up your mind, time waits for no one.'
Olivia became silent as Freya's words sunk in, she then admitted, without putting up a fight, 'I guess you have a point there, I will work on that, thank you.'
Freya was stunned, she didn't expect Olivia to just accept her words with no objection. Olivia had a stubborn and a critical kind of mindset.
Olivia then brought up her own question to change the subject, 'How about you? Any news to gossip about with your best friend?'
'Not much, but he is sometimes very annoying, irritating and that turns me off. Honestly, if I had another good option, I would switch.' Freya outlined her status frantically.
Alexander and Freya were so entwined when perceived from the outside. They looked to have created a close companionship. Olivia nodded her head in agreement. Sometimes Alexander was difficult to deal with, not just Freya, but all the girls in the house found him to be, except Carlos, who happened to be always in his world.
'I would say, oversensitive.' Oliver commented on Alexander the Alpha's character, adding to Freya's description.
Then she went on laughing continuously without stopping for one and half a minute. Her laughter induced some irritation and anger in Freya, for she had a hot temper. 'You can laugh, the important thing is that I get what I want from him.' Freya flung back, feeling a little bit ashamed of her relationship with Alexander. It wasn't perfect, actually far from being, like most relationships are.
About that same hour, Jabari was busy planting his nursery cornflowers and watering them. His mind got distracted by the thought of Olivia. To him, she seemed to have an interesting personality, she was a mystery, a bit antisocial.
Since Veronica is not ready for me, maybe I should try Olivia? I know she has a thing for me, the only problem we are not compatible. However, the real deal is Veronica. Energy is not deceitful. What I felt that day, and what I feel each time we are together, I can not explain it in words. I guess I just love her, dearly, and I don't think this will diminish that easily. The big problem is that I have invested so much of my mind and energy into her. My love for her keeps growing stronger, I have reached to the point of even becoming jealous when I see her flirt with other guys. Maybe this is just fantasy? "There is no Fiction," remember that quote from Neville Goddard? How long will I wait? Patience my friend pays. OK, let me forget about this and focus on the work at hand. Jabari Dakarai thought.
After hours of tirelessness working that day, a memory clicks on his mind, 'Oh, no? It is almost seventeen hours. I had better get ready for the party. Oh yes, It's party day! I can't wait to enjoy myself!' Jabari Dakarai shouted out loud, and burst into joyful laughter, upon realizing his stupid act. He hurriedly strode home.
