Chapter 7 - Music Is Thrilling

He had just finished preparing himself when a familiar knock came at Jabari's door. He didn't need to think who it was, just from the sequential pattern rhythm it caused, he made a prediction. It's the wolf girl, Veronica, 'Come in?' Jabari knew it was Veronica, she always knocked three times. That was her pattern. She pushed the door and it gave a squealing noise. As soon as she had stridden in, a question also followed right behind her excited looks, 'Are you ready, my friend, for the party?' Her whole body thrilled with joy.

Jabari calmly uttered with a serious facial expression, 'I am not sure about that, I have a bad premonition about it. Something might go wrong, and my gut is usually right. You know, I have a strong intuition. It's better we don't go?'

Inside her heart she was sure he was just teasing her, 'Come on Jabari, stop kidding?'

Jabari's face looked extremely serious, 'I mean it, Veronica.' His act was getting real, actually a part of him didn't want to go, he was sensing bad energy. Whenever he felt that, something bad always happened in his life.

She smiled shyly, 'Come on, nothing will go wrong, I promise. I want this so badly, do it for me please?' Jabari shook his head, implying no, his continuous perseverance convinced her, ultimately believing him. Automatically, her countenance sparingly fell and she looked very disappointed. Her energy levels downgraded, a sense of hopeless creeping into her heart. She retorted, 'OK, so, what do we do now?' As she sat on Jabari's bed weakly.

Jabari shouted, 'I got you!' He burst out laughing uncontrollably. 'I was messing with you girl!'

Her face was flashed with surprise, 'Come on Jabari, this isn't fun?' Her face frowned.

Jabari had plenty of laughter in his belly, 'Well, you just made my day.' He continued with his playfulness. 'Did you look at your face? How does it swiftly change from being joyous to being gloomy in one or two seconds?'

Now Veronica turned out very angry and upset, 'I don't like you anymore!' She shouted.

Jabari mocked with a mischievous smile, 'Why?'

Angrily she made the comment, 'Because you have a bad sense of humor.'

Finally, Jabari decided to end the drama, 'Enough, let's get going, we might find the party is over?'

Veronica couldn't believe what came into Jabari today. 'Are you being serious?'

Jabari smiled happily, 'Let's just go.' As he pulled the door open.

They walked quietly for some distance. When she eventually found the courage to break the silence.

'So, what is the name of the place where we are going? Is it a pub or nightclub?'

Jabari deliberately delayed the response to keep her in deep suspense further. 'It is called Terestonia nightclubs and pubs and the rest you will see. Besides, I am not your friend, so why should I tell you anything?'

Veronica came out forcefully, 'Are you trying to get back at me? You were wrong, and I will not apologize for that.' She giggled.

It was Jabari's time to put up some more drama, 'Well, I might as well just turn back and head home. Good luck!'

He swiftly made a ninety-degree turn and began heading home.

Veronica screamed, 'Jabari stop being childish?'

He kept going like he didn't hear her. It was obvious he was not going to turn back. This couldn't possibly be another plunk by Jabari? Was he upset with her now? A huge side of her wanted to experience the thrill of partying in Plagatoscal city. Her body had missed it so much. He is charming but can be angered easily, she thought rationally.

Hopelessly she relented, 'OK, I yield Mister Jabari Dakarai, I was wrong, and I will buy you beers all night.' She wanted to party so desperately, she was ready to do anything at that moment.

Instantly, Jabari made a twist to face her and ran after her at a fast speed.

He hastily pronounced, upon reaching to her, 'I hold you accountable on your word, I acquired myself free beers for the night! Let's move on, my friend.'

He laughed teasingly. She looked at him in an unbelievable way. She just realized he had been playing with her all along. He wasn't going to abandon her on the road. She just shook her head. 'You know what? You are crazy?'

Jabari laughed hysterically, 'Yeah, you are not the first one to tell me that? People have the right to voice their opinions. Anyway, it's a free world and people can do whatever they want. As long as they buy me beer!'

He chuckled lightly, feeling extreme pleasure at his mischievous way of gaining free beer.

Without even paying any attention to time or the distance they had covered, they found themselves at Terestonia nightclubs and pubs.

Veronica, upon seeing Terestonia nightclubs and pubs, was astonished, gasped in amazement, 'Jabari!'

Jabari Dakarai glanced at her with questioning eyes.

She went on, 'Why did you not bring me here before?' Her mouth widely open in amazement.

He gave her an awkward answer that just came into his mind without even reasoning over it, 'A thought never crossed my mind. Also, because of the lock-down, I was not sure if it was operational.'

She came out happily and satisfied, 'Wow, I love it, the music, the setup is really amazing.'

Veronica bought the beers, and they sat on a table outside, watching people dance as they sipped their alcohol.

Veronica bought the beers, and they sat on a table positioned outside with Jabari watching humans, vampires and werewolves dance as they sipped their alcohol. Veronica's eyes were everywhere, she was in her moment, her facial and body expression said it all. She was emitting and radiating her innermost energy. If you sat next to her, you could feel it. She was in her happiest state.

'Jabari, with this place you have absolutely earned my esteemed respect. I love it so much, I could spend all night here listening and dancing to this kind of music. The music is thrilling, captivating and the sound is damn good!'

'Yes, I know, that is one of the reasons why I like this place very much besides beer.' From the look of things, Veronica must be knowledgeable about music and the sound systems Jabari perceived.

Veronica gazed at Jabari with devilish eyes, as if she wanted to swallow him up, a dim grin purely formed on her cute face, 'You know, back in Western Canstania, I used to work as a D J, I did a lot of gigs, and then I moved to Kandakastan I automatically connected myself with that land and the wolves and humans there. I did even many more gigs than in Canstania.'

Jabari was pleased to hear this other side of Veronica. It's obvious she has a thousand sides he needs to be aware of, 'Cool, that's new. It looks like you do know a lot about music?' She giggled, her face looked pinkish and a little pale, that made her look more beautiful and gorgeous. 'Yeah, I love music, it's part of my soul, I have noticed that in you as well, I guess that is one among many things we have in common.' Jabari gave a nod. 'Absolutely, I can't deny that fact.'

There was a serenity, stillness and calmness from both Jabari and Veronica, then she picked up the conversation again, 'I like the humans, werewolves in Kandakastan very much compared to the Canstanias. Werewolves and humans from Kandakastan are open-minded and less judgmental. That is not the way it is with the Canstanias.'

Jabari could see right through that Veronica wanted to share something more personal and important, 'Tell me about it? I don't know much about humans, wolves or vampires from Kandakastan. I have had less contact with them, I know quite enough about you guys.' Implying the Canstanias.

She sipped her beer, now appearing a bit dizzy, 'Do you have any knowledge about open relationships? Do you understand what I mean?'
