Alexander walked onto the stage, his masculine body clearly visible in his tight t-shirt he wore, showing off his dominance as an Alpha, undoubtedly pronouncing that this was his territory and no vampire nor human could stand against him, as he stepped on the stairs. Jabari cared less, he loved a simple life.
'Good evening everyone? Our visitors have come all the way from Canstania. They are volunteers from the Commonwealth Youth Exchange Program, sponsored by the Canstania government. They will stay and work with us on all the various projects we are currently running.' Alexander stated, and went on with the introduction, 'They will stay and work. As for their names, we have the next two years, to know them and them, to know you. Thank you all of you who decided to participate in this event. I am eternally grateful and have a great night.'
The crowd clapped, as Alpha Alexander left the stage, people started dispersing.
Jabari was in his garden after about two weeks and impressed with the rate at which his garden was progressing. He began to roam slowly here and there, letting go all his beliefs and opinions of others and opening his mind to the grand wisdom giver, the Universe. He dived deep and tapped into its infinity love. Now he was in love with all forms of life. He could feel his energy fusing with the eternal of eternal energies.
It's his habitual thing to do, especially sinking into his divine side. At that very moment, he was connected to everything.
He slowed down the speed of consciousness, switching his mind to his surroundings, he continued admitting the work of his hand. He remembers when he first started gardening. He had a well-to-do career, as an Electrician, before the pandemic hit the continent. As an ambitious day-walker vampire after the lock-down was declared, he could not work anywhere. Coming to that realization, he took all his life's savings and invested them in stocks. He was new to it and, unfortunately, lost all his life savings. So one day as he walked, observing nature on the farm, he figured out that humans, werewolves and vampires needed to eat, even under the lock-down, and thought of starting a garden. That is how it was born.
Veronica comes along, with a glittering smile. Upon noticing her, Jabari too walked in her direction to meet her, for it was clear that she was looking for him.
'Ciao Veronica!' Jabari Dakarai opened up a conversation, as he gave her a dubious grin to enchant her under his spell.
'Ciao Jabari!' she too replicated a dim shy grin.
'How is the morning going with you?' Jabari inquired.
Veronica released a cute broad smile. Jabari could not tell if she was flirting with him or not. Maybe that's just the way she is.
'It's interesting, my first day at work after my quarantine,' Veronica explained.
Veronica and her crew had to go under quarantine for two weeks.
'You look excited?' Jabari commented in a questioning fashion, as he did also take into account that she looked very lively.
'Yes! I am; because I have big expectations. I can now move freely, rather than stay home. Can you be my tour guide?' Veronica made a request.
Are you being for real? Seriously, asking a day-walker vampire, I can't possibly deny the pleasure of taking up that responsibility. Jabari Dakarai thought
'Yes, no pressure. I will be happy to help with that.' Jabari Dakarai volunteered without second guessing.
'Thanks, Jabari, you are a lifesaver. Well, I am here for two more things. First, we have some electric kettles, and two pressing irons that are not working. Alexander asked me to bring them to you, to be checked. Secondly, can I buy vegetables from you? Alexander told me to get them from the community garden, but I prefer yours?'
From this Jabari thought, It really does seem she too wants to get closer to me, Jabari thought.
'Yes, of course!' Veronica moved on to the next question, 'What time should I bring the kettles and the pressing irons?'
'Any time you choose. You know I am usually here all day.' Jabari Dakarai warmly welcomed her.
'How about at lunchtime?' Veronica proposed.
'Cool! That works with me!'
'I also asked Alexander for your number. Is that OK with you?' Veronica admitted, playing a sneaky move.
Jabari was actually thinking about how to get her number, when she confessed that she had already taken the initiative to get his number. Perhaps he was not alone drowning himself in this love dilemma in his own imagination.
'Not a problem at all!' He sharply replied. In his mind he was devising all kinds of scenarios after she calls or texts him.
She almost took some steps to go when she turned with a squeaking sound. 'I will go to work now. Wait a minute? I also need some vegetables this afternoon!' Veronica made a request.
'Okay, you can come anytime for that.' Jabari Dakarai gave her a blank check.
'Aright! See you later!' Veronica said and gave him another dense, super hot grin.
'See you later and have a good day.' Jabari waved his hand at her and right away gave her a pleasant smile as she turned to go away. She mimicked a waving hand.
The moment she went away, Jabari Dakarai lost himself in his imaginative world. Wow! I was wondering how I was going to ask you for your number. It looks like the Universe is on my side. How can I fail to win this woman wolf? When she is completely throwing herself in the lions' den. You are mine, Veronica. Until I feel and taste your sweet love. Because we are one, my words are inflammable spells you can't escape from. We are made from the same substance, I definitely have access to you. I will unlock all the locks you have placed on your door to your heart. I will break every barrier you set on your path. There is nothing that can stop me right now because we are bound and destined to be together. Everything is leading us to that. Therefore, learn to listen to your heart. I am paying attention to mine.
Jabari started working in a lively mood.
One afternoon, at lunchtime, Olivia and Freya sat behind the house chatting. The sun was so hot, but the shade was so mesmerizing and breathtaking, the house was surrounded by trees of mangoes and flowers. The shade itself was an umbrella of granadillas. Just imagine the fragrance it emits.
'Freya, tell me the truth, there is indeed something going on between you and Alexander. I can see it in your eyes, the way you talk to him, and you spend a lot of time with him. Are you guys dating?' Olivia Probed.
'No, he is my boss, how can I?' Freya denied the accusation, but her body language gave a different message and Olivia picked it up. She blushed at the same instant as she refused and cut eye contact. Clearly expressing guilt.
Olivia moved on with her interrogation, 'Well, last night you did not sleep in your room?'
Freya frowned while building up her defense mechanism, 'Are you now spying on me? Should I be looking over my shoulders now?'
Her abrupt response triggered laughter in Olivia's belly, 'No dear, curiosity took hold of me. Anyway, how long will you hide it?' She was not intimidated a single bit, actually her behavior spoke volumes and made Olivia get even more excited as she teased her further, waiting for her to admit her presumptuous demands.
Freya relentlessly accepted her defeat. It's obvious that other beings had eyes on them, 'OK! Enough, you win. I am just doing it for another reason! You understand, right? From the moment we came to Plagatoscal city I have felt lonely and that's why I have been with him. You came two weeks later. You had lots of time to spend with your boyfriend at least?'
Enviousness crept into Olivia. She wished she was the one in that boat and controlling the steering, 'Well! You are lucky. I miss my boyfriend so much, that I have to call him every day to comfort us on the phone. I want a touch of a man, do you understand? I am not satisfied with just chatting on the phone.'
It was Freya's turn to spearhead a ship without direction, 'Olivia, why don't you find a community guy? There are a lot of handsome guys here, you know?'
