Standing under the shade while heavy raindrops were falling from the railings of the roof of the shade, his dark brown hazelnut glistened eyes were glancing at the thick raindrops which were looking like broken pearls. His tulip-shaped lips were somewhat trembling as the cold wind was blowing and was touching against his skin. His jet-black bangs were strangling in his forehead making him look mesmerizing. But the baby-sized bangs were not fully covering his forehead; it was the widest part of his face. His veiny arms were wrapping around each other, slowly rubbing to feel warmth. The bread cheeks of him heaved up and down. His coffee-coloured eyes were showing no emotions but there was a slight disappointment and dissatisfaction also in there. He looked at his wrist watch which was showing 7 pm. He pulled out his mobile phone and called someone. The moment the person answered the phone, he immediately rejected the call as if he intended to call someone and then disconnected when the other one answered. He sighed after waiting for about half an hour. He looked around and saw the people who were waiting for their known ones already left. Maybe their partners came at the right time. He looked at the sky standing under the shade. The rain was getting heavier. He looked down for a while before escaping the shade. His perfectly curved fists released themselves and held on top of his head to somewhat prevent the nonprevention rain drops. He put his left foot on the ground and his ears heard the sounds of leaves swirling themselves as they were getting drenched.
As he was expecting the rain to stop, he didn't. He was expecting to feel the cold sensational feeling of the rain drops but he didn't get drenched. Instead, he felt he was sheltered by someone's umbrella. He looked up and saw a light blue-colored umbrella with tiny butterflies dripping on top of its surface. He looked down only to meet the owner of that umbrella who was already looking at him smiling as broadly as she could. Her sparkling hazel eyes were twitching in happiness as if these eyes never experienced pain or unlimited tears. Hazel eyes are eyes that have a combination of green, gold, and brown coloring, which sets them apart from most other eyes, which are a solid color. He couldn't deny that her eyes were the most beautiful eyes he had seen in his life.
Her heart-shaped lips were smiling beautifully. People with these lips have a prominent cupid's bow. Her one arm was holding the umbrella and the other one was covering her other palm which was holding the umbrella. Her brownish-tinted hairs were slightly wet giving her an angelic aura. She was purely a new freshly bloomed flower and the sky itself was watering its favorite flower to not rot in any way possible.
She smiled and said
"Let's share"
She squealed as brightly as nature adored her with its melodic voice. He stood there with no reactions to his features. As if he was the opposite version of her. She was bright and cheerful. He was cold and quiet. But as we know, the opposite attracts...
She waved her hands in front of his face as he realized he was staring at her for a long time. He looked away immediately as his one mono-lid-shaped and one double-eyelid-shaped eye looked at her again. As if his eyes found their favorite thing to admire, this was her hazel eyes. He looked at the surroundings near him. The place was calm because the people were already emitting it. He shook his head while looking nowhere. She frowned her eyebrows thinking why he wasn't even answering with his mouth. She thought he didn't even think it was necessary to talk to her. He seemed rude to behave like this with her but she can't judge by someone's first gesture. She said
"listen..it is raining. And you don't have an umbrella with you. you will get drenched. So tell me where are you supposed to reach? I will take you there. No need to say thanks. I like to help people"
She said with a proud grin plastered on her face. He made a poker face in reply looking straight at her hazel eyes. She sucked her lips cutely which eventually became pouted. She did not intend to burst out on him when she asked for help. He could have also said thanks but she can manage. But no he is not finding it important to even answer her. Like she felt she was very low compared to his intimidating aura. She found him superior in status compared to her and thought maybe that's why he was not even opening his mouth.
She looked at him and then at the rain which was falling rapidly, not intending to stop too soon.
"Why are you not saying anything?"
He who was looking everywhere else but not her looked at her. Whenever he looks at that his heart thumps. He doesn't know why this happens to him. She saw he pulled his cell phone out to call someone
"You could have said that you don't want help and that you are expecting someone"
She said with a pout. His eyes widened when he saw she was talking to a stranger so freely as if she had known him for ages and they were best friends. Aish this girl…he thought…and then looked back from her to his cell screen. She peeked at his phone as he asked inside his head if the girl was alright in her senses or not. The moment he answered someone answered saying
"Aaron, I am so sorry…please stay where you are, I am stuck in traffic because of this freaking rain. I am gonna come where you are in 5 minutes. Please don't leave the place where you are. I am sorry for being late. "
She thought that the other person who was apologizing to him was so concerned about him. She could sense the worry in his voice but he didn't reply and disconnected the call. Her brows knitted together seeing how he disconnected the call before answering though the person on the other side was so worried about him. She found him rude and cold.
"At least you could have answered your friend. He was worried. You could have told him not to worry about you. You are not a good friend I guess"
She said and his eyes widened without even him noticing. He was getting pissed clearly by her words. She then said
"It's okay now that your friend is coming in 5 minutes, I will accompany you standing here."
He frowned her brows thinking why she would wait with him. He gestured for her to return to the shade but she said
"Let's stay like this under the rain and one umbrella. It's romantic. Isn't it?"
She smiled sweetly as if her smile was itself spreading a sweet fragrance. He kept his poker face where she was talking nonstop.
"Are you new here in this state?" I haven't seen you near this shade. This shade is my regular place to visit to wait for a bus. My house is a bit far from my university which is near this bus station."
He nodded and she smiled as if she didn't mind if he didn't talk at all.
"By the way, what do you do? You seem to be a student but surely you would be my senior right?"
He nodded his head, already looking somewhere else, getting bored hearing her.
"Which university did you get admitted to?"
He pulled a card from his wallet and showed it to her
Her eyes almost popped up seeing her university written there
"It's my university's form. That means you are getting admitted to my university. Woah.."
She jumped causing them to drench a little in the rain. He put his hand on top of hers and straightened the umbrella.
"Let me see, in what subject are you in?"
He showed her the admission letter where his information was written. She looked first in the subject section. She was surprised and yet impressed seeing his subject who was playing piano. Her eyes locked on his full name which was Aaron Stevens. Stevens? That's her principal's surname. But it could be a coincidence also. She knew her principal had only one grandson who was studying outside the country and his family was crushed in a plane accident. The grandson who she knew was mute. Then her eyes gazed at the profession section. He was not a student; he was the new transferred piano teacher. And the news of his arrival has created a craze in their whole university for quite a few days. She glanced at him awkwardly who was looking somewhere else.
"h.Here..Take this.."
He looked at her and nodded while taking back the paper.
"S….sir…I am sorry. I talked rudely to you a few moments ago."
She looked down while he looked at her. He doesn't know why he was feeling this different after meeting her. He nodded while trying to look at her hazel eyes but she was looking down.
" si..sir..I am also a piano student. So please don't expel me for behaving this way to you."
He was looking at her, almost suppressing his laugh, seeing her acting cutely.
"Sir why are you not saying anything…are you that mad at me for talking back to you"
She was saying all of these looking down where his eyes were admiring her.
"Sir...I don't think it was my fault."
He giggled inside but outside kept a poker face.
He liked the aura she had. She couldn't keep herself quiet for a moment whether it was her fault or not. She was about to trip while whispering little words. He held her wrist and prevented her from falling. She looked at him while trying to process her own falling incident. She got up immediately.
Aaron!!!
Someone called from behind him, startling the both of them. He almost drowned in those hazel eyes but straightened his back and looked behind only to find his friend, Jade. His face is symmetrical and perfectly oval. The ears fit precisely within the middle third of his face. The space between his eyes is equal to the width of one eye. The edges of his nose line up with the inside corners of the eyes.
His front left, and right nose sides take equal space
He was more like a brother to him. He smiled at him and said
" I am so sorry Aaron…the traffic…"
Before he could say more Aaron stopped him gesturing his hand. the guy named Jade nodded and said
"Let's go"
Aaron nodded and shifted to Jade's umbrella without looking at her. Meanwhile, she was looking at the figures in front of her. She was thinking do angels exist because they both were looking too divine to be a human? Such perfect delicacy was present in their faces. She waved at Aaron smiling while saying
"See you tomorrow sir…"
Jade looked at her then back at Aaron who turned to hear her and to look at her. Jade didn't see Aaron this intrigued by a girl. Then Jade looked at her and smiled at her and she was barely breathing seeing Jade's smile. Aaron gestured something with his fingers and Jade nodded before turning from him to her. Jade said looking at her
"He said, he will see you in class."
Her smile dropped thinking the worst that could happen to her tomorrow when he will finally speak. They both left they're leaving her in the rain. The guy named Aaron looked back at her who was looking down. He smiled beautifully seeing her then turned again to leave.
Javi
I gasped as I read the first chapter of her fourth book UMBRELLA. She is a mind-blowing writer. She was currently eating a burger, I think she is addicted to burgers. Her cheeks puffed up with food stuffed inside her mouth, she was sitting on the couch with her legs folded messily. She was engrossed in eating. Her baby bump was getting bigger, but still, she was beautiful as ever. Her beauty was evergreen. I was sitting on the chair of the dining table with her laptop on my lap. She has been lighter in mood, she has been getting busy with writing and her overthinking is lessening, but she cries. Every night her pillow is drenched in an unrepeatable amount of tears. What happened to her? Won't I be able to cure her?
Would it be very wrong to hope for a life with her? What if I want to make her my wife, the word that she probably hates now? Would it be possible for me to take her away from everything and give her everything of my worth
