Chapter 41 - Chapter 41. Core

Marx realized there were alot of things he could now do with the system. It seemed that the rewards he had to choose from before were now free and unlimited.

He could ask any question he wanted. He could also access the features of the system. He also realized that he was close to accessing the suit. It was only the agility that was holding him back.

Though he knew he could access the full suit after all his stats reached 2, it was not going to be as strong. It would have many features stripped out of it because from what he had come to realize, everything appeared to be super heavy.

He could only access the suit's shell but not its features. It was better as a protective barrier to his body though. Now he wanted to rise his agility in order to access the suits shell.

He realized that the helmet must have been too heavy for him. Maybe the reaon the helmet was not in Box 1 was because he could not wear it for long before he snapped his neck.

The helmet would be a better protector than the suit's shell. The helmet at least could have the features it was supposed to have. The suit's helmet could probably have the protective feature alone.

First he needed to know what skills he had unlocked after that mission.

"Open skills tab."

Halo Steps- Unlimited.

Fist Torpedoes- Unlimited.

Laser Kicks- 5 Limited Access. Recharges after one minute rest.

Viscous Palms- Unlimited.

Marx could not quite get the difference between the last two. But after giving it some thought, he realized it. Back Thrust was probably used lika a catapult. Back Thrust could throw him in a direction he wanted.

For Feet Thrust, they were like means of flying. He realized that he could combine the Back Thrust and Feet Thrust to move hundreds of meters in seconds. He really wanted to test the combination to see how far it would take him.

Well with all these new unlocked slills, he could only sense an ominous foreboding. These skills were too overpowered for him currently and he could only guess that the next missions were not going to be easy.

It was not that the past missions were easy but with his current weapons and skills, he knew that killing the adult sandworms could only take one Super Bullet. There were too many skills he really wanted to test them and he could only wait patiently for the next mission.

He had no qualms with testing the weapons in the mission grounds. His heart beat erratically once again. He wanted to fire the Super Bullet once again. He looked at the fish and he rolled it on the fire.

Jerry was still on the other side staring at the cooking meat. He had regained the life in his eyes. The heat from Marx's body had not been enough but the fire helped in boosting his morale. Marx smiled when he saw the little guy resting his little chin on his palms.

What Marx did not have was a sharp object. All he could use were the ancient methods like stones. He could use ice but there was no way he could curve out a sharp object from the ice without a sharp object.

He even asked the system why it never gave him a sharp object.

Marx wanted to laugh. Just how heavy could a dagger be? But he held himself back. The system did not even once lie to him. He also did not know more about metals. Maybe the dagger was made of super heavy metal alloys.

Marx could not be in any way wrong with this kind of thinking. There were metals which only a single 1 millimeters piece could weigh 10 kilograms. If such a metal was used to craft a dagger, there was no telling whether he could even make it budge.

These were metals that could only be refined using beast crystals. Marx currently had ten of them with him with one of them being super large 5x the normal crystals he had collected.

He then came across the tab that spoke of creation of a fire ignitor. The system called it a Core. Marx did not think too much of it. In these past seven months, he was only lacking in sharp weapons and fire source. With such a OP system, he felt ashamed he could not make it release fire.

"What do you require in order to create the core?" Marx asked.

Marx had not read the terms and conditions when he accepted the system. Had he read, he would have realized that it was in them. He would have to go through them soon.

"Where do you store them?" He asked. It was embarassing he did not know about many features of the system. He only went for the OP ones.

Marx was caught offguard... Couldn't the system just store everything in one place? How come there was the armoury and now there was an Inventory. But it then made sense. Amoury was the systems store but Inventory was user's store.

So they were different from each other... Then he was going to have to fill his inventory with reauired resources.

"Open Inventory."

<...>

A new tab appeared on the screen. It only had ten objects. Only the beast crystals. He laughed at himself for he had close to nothing in his inventory. The other crystals were all colourless but the large crystal was yellow.

"Which of these do you need access to?"

<...>

The system did not speak but only a click sound as the yellow crystal shook. Marx hesitated. Going for the big fish huh? He thought.

"Granted." He said with a heartbroken face. That crystal almost cost him his life. But it was perfect as long as it did not go to waste.

<...>

He heard a click sound and the Crystal disappeared. He sighed as his inventory reduced. That yellow crystal was supposed to be his pride. He was sure that it would have cost much. The system did not usually take or give cheap things from his observations.

"That was fast. How?"

Marx nodded. He still did not like the idea of the crystal being used up instantly.

"What other purpose is the core?"

>Flame Hurtle- Unlimited_ Flame Hurtle is used to thrust fire at a target. Can be activated in the fingers or at the wrist.>

Marx was excited. His fire problem had been solved. He could not wait to test it immediately.

"Activate Flame Hurtle, right hand."

Marx felt something form on his right hand at the wrist. When he checked, he saw a small black square cube like tile form on his wrist. It felt odd that it was coming from his body. The feeling was surreal.

He observed it and he saw a pin sized hole on its front. It had nothing more fancy. Then, he looked at his fingers. Small tiles no large than a milliemter length materialized. They had even smaller holes on them.

He felt them with his left hand. He could not help but wonder who the creator was. Some things, were they even possible? Just what level of intricacy was required in the creation of these cubes? He clenched his fingers into a fist and pointed the hand forward.

Without warning, a stream of fire gushed from the large tile and fired at Jerry. Jerry had been staring at him wondering what he wa doing but he jumped sideways when he saw that Marx was after his life.

It came and sat next to him. Marx laughed when he saw Jerry's reaction. He also felt guilty for threatening his life twice that day. After he stopped, he looked at the place Jerry had been sitting and it was all charred black.

Jerry had a look saying 'you see'. Marx removed the fish from the fire and gave it to Jerry as an apology. Jerry received it with an open heart as Marx put another fish on the stick he was using to roast them.

"Activate Flame Hurtle, right index finger." Marx watched as the cube tiles sunk into his skin and only the one on his index finger was left. He looked at it and he clenched the muscles of the finger.

A thin stream of fire shot at his face almost burning his face. Had he not evaded, maybe he would would also be charred like the floor. Jerry looked at him horrified. He blinked and when their eyes met, it offered him the fish it was just about to have a bite from.

Marx laughed and rubbed the little guys head. He then pointed the finger into the fire and released a jet of fire into into it. The fire rose but it died as soon as he retracted his flame. He then deactivated flame hurtle.

Now, what was the reason the system had brought him to the Arctic? Had it not said that he could find out now if he asked...
