The explanation was simple. Maybe, if it was the current civilization that had existed during the era of the Ancient Civilization, they would have gone to greater heights. This was due to several factors.
First the present civilization had gone against all line of logic. Why? Becase the ancient civilization had come first and had taken all the valuable requirements for advancement of technology with them.
This ancient civilization had taken all important minerals from earth and had even gone as far as wiping all of the entire Milky Way. For the current civilization to have achieved 30% of what this civilization had achieved with the remains they saw useless and trash...
What did it mean? It meant that this Present Civilization had more room for growth such that they could not be limited. Turning waste into more valuable tech. Had they not broken through the bottleneck of the 20th century?
Didn't the Ancient Civilization have no eyes on petroleum? Had the previous civilization not used this petroleum for more functions such that they are uncountable? Weren't these not trash in the eyes of the Ancient Civilization?
Had the minerals like diamond not been seen as important in their eyes so they had left them intact? Hadn't the previous civilization managed to use the same diamond for more funtions. The point is that no matter what bottleneck they were facing currently, it was just a matter of time.
Hadn't they broken into the next phase with just a small breakthrough and enlightenment? What about when they had a major one? Would they not surpass them? It was only time that would tell.
From all evidences that was being collected from how they operated in the microscopic level, it meant that the present civilization was still far from reaching these levels though they were approaching gradually...
Who knows? Maybe this Ancient Civilization had attained immortality? What about other concepts like time travel both in the future and in the past? What about predicting the future?
It was at this moment that something completely unexpected happened. There was no way that was possible. There usually were no vibrations is these areas. They could not connect it to an explosion because it was impossible.
It was common knowledge that there was no one left on Earth. Also, there were never earthquakes and this was common knowldge too. What could possibly have happened.
Could it be that there was another fail-safe activated when the Base was breached? They could only hope so but to be careful, the number 10 transmitted her thoughts. Why these scientists were feared was probably because of what she did. Just one of the reasons.
Transmitting her thoughts to the communication devices that were on the waists of the guards. The guards stumbled as they heard the transmission. They had just been shocked by the tremors few seconds before.
"Keep extra guard. We might have some visitors," the guards clenched their jaws. They knew exactly who the visitors were,The Resistance. They nodded forgetting to reply.
Four more guards came from the entrance ten minutes later. One could now guess the length of the stairs. Also, they could guess the impact of the Super Bullet.
These guys were getting ready for The Resistance. What if they learnt that it was just a recently turned sixteen year old boy who playing around with weapons he could barely use? Wouldn't they cough blood being scared of a teenager?
The six guards started chatting about what they thought their speculations about what they were guarding was. There were 100 of them here keeping guard. The brow rising factor was that they were all soldier who usually spent most of their time on dark missions.
Many of these missions usually dispatched only two to five. But 100 of them was a mystery to them. This groups usually had their body genetic function tampered in order to rise their strength, speed and agility.
Though, only few of them chose speed. Many of them chose strength. Only those with strong bodies here could accept two tampers but accepting three called for more endurance than one ever had in their lives.
Of the 100 only five had gone with the latter and only 30 had two stats increased. The rest either chose one with most of them choosing strength. If someone told them that their death would be caused by a teen later, they would laugh their asses out.
A teen? What a joke! They who had their stats reaching almost ten! Then a teen to kill them? What a joke!

Well, the Angel of death was finishing the last of the fish he had roasted. It was already night the perfect time for Life Missions. He was laying on the back as he stared at the roof.
Well, Marx was not arrogant enough to take a Life Mission as a joke. This mission required careful planning. He was going to plane it for two days then on the thrid day he would strike.
He stood up and stretched. A crack on his back and a comfortable smile barely visible in the dark appeared on his lips.
"Scan for the Base," Marx said as he headed towards the door.
Not that there was need for a door anyway. He stood at the door but the sky was covered by the snow so he could not see the stars. A new screen appeared and around a kilometer away, he saw the location of the base.
Marx could guess that there were guards on the path to put checkpoints. These were the ones he had a great need to know about their operations. He activated Night Vision. Seeing through the snow was a child's play. True to his thoughts, he reached the first checkpoint. His eyes glowed green as everything became as clear as day.
There were five guards each around 100 meters from each other. He realized that it was not going to be as easy as he had thought to bypass them. He was only 600 meters from the base but there were already five guards.
Well, it would have been more difficult if he was walking on the snow. As an Angel of death, he was 200 meters above them. Staring at them counting their few remaining days left to live.
After confirming the location of the first group, he went formward and when he was 300 meters from the base, he found another checkpoint. This was slightly large in number with ten guards each fity meters away.
This group would be the most difficult to deal with but since they could not see him in the midst of the snow, he was like taking a walk in his compound. His hands on his back looking down on them.
He went forward and he finally reached the Base. He stared at the six guards who were at most five meters away from each other. It seemed that they were confident in the fifteen guards guarding the checkpoints.
Marx did not expect there to be only this small number of guards. He knew better. He approximated about 200. From how sensitive the core tech was, they would definitely bring more guards even if they were 99.9% sure no one would attack them.
He tried to use night vision but he was disappointed he could not see through the entrance. How could he? This was a top secret Base. Its security was top most maybe even comparing to the ones they were using currently in their galaxy.
This was one of the reason it had taken 2 hours of continuous bombing. Just opening the door took them that much time. Not just any explosion could shake its foundation. But the explosion from the Super Bullet had shaken this place.
This just showed how powerful the system was. Marx did not delve too much into this place. He had already accomplished his first purpose. He went back to his temporal kitchen and fell back into calculations. This mission had to be a success.
The next day, he went to fish. He had eaten them all the previous day. He scanned for nearby lakes and luckily he found one. Jerry stood on his shoulder as he watched the gun appear in his hand on the elbows. Marx's eyes gleamed when he saw it in his hands. His eyes shining with stars being lost in his excitement.
"My baby, I missed you. Did you miss Daddy?" He said affectionately. The gun seemed to glow in response. He pointed the gun on the frozen lake. He had learnt a lesson the last time though he had enjoyed it.
He was using Halo Steps and was fifty meters above. The ice shards could not reach that far. He placed the shoulder rest on his chest. He tuned to 360⁰ and his right finger fell on the trigger. His heart beat with excitement. It was time to have his dopamine levels rise.
He pulled the trigger and the Super Bullet shot from the gun. The bright light forced him to close his eyes. The recoil always caught him offguard. He was pushed ten meter high. This time he did not let the gun go. Jerry had seen this coming and had his hands wrapped on Marx's neck tight.
Marx activated Halo Steps and stood 60 meters above. He watched as the bullet hit the snow dispersing it opening way for the bullet to hit the glacier and when it was a meter deep it exploded. Jerry sat on his shoulder watching with Marx.
They both had an excited expression as they watched the explosion. This was what both of them enjoyed. Destruction.
For the next two days, the scientist had a their doubts risen. It was possible that it was an earthquake. If it was The Resistance, they would have attacked by now. If only they knew that it was a teen playing with a weapon too high out of his league.
Marx had just finished fishing and he was descending. He had not even thought for moment that he could attract the guards. He was attacking today. He collected fish that filled the bag and left for his kitchen.
Currently, there was only one side of the cabin that had not been turned to firewood. If the builder saw him, they would cough mouthfulls of blood. Just how difficult it was to bring the wood through the ice.
Even the difficult part of laying the foundation only for an arrogant brat to use it all as firewood to roast fish! Even getting a heart attack could not be hard... Marx lit the fire with his index finger.
Even if the smoke could rise, it would not be visible in the snow. He pierced a fish and started roasting. Tonight was the night he encountered otherworlders...
