After Marx pressed the button, he felt some stream of energy go through his fingers. Then a glow red lit up in his eyes for an instant then disappeared. But that is when the screens on the computer lit up.
Even the scientists who had been planning on using some dangerous tech to take him down stopped. They watched with shock but it did not last long as it was replaced by smiles.
"The five of you coming. Don't harm him. We want him alive," the number 10 gave new orders for Marx to be caught alive. The communication device on Marx's waist projected the voice but it was like he was in a trance. He did not even react and only his eyes seemed to be alive.
They were so concentrated on whatever it was he was seeing. Marx was like he was caught in am endless expanse of white light. But the white light cleared and he was now in a foreign world.
Then a voice came to his mind.
The voice was male but it sounded more like that of his system.
"What is a com-verse?" Marx asked immediately. He knew how dire of a situation he was in.
Marx thought for a while and he grasped some notes but he wanted to know just why the voice said 'welcome back'. In his life, he was sure that he had never used a computer or this com-verse. He was a primitive boy if that could sum it all up.
"How do you know me?" He asked.
Marx sighed. This was the second time he was not finding anything. But there were many things he could ask to find out. There was infinite amount of knowledge he did not know about. Why bother with the ones he could not obtain?
"So, what is this core tech I am here for?"
< The core tech though, cannot be taken by just anyone. Infact, the main reason it is still on Earth is because it refused to accept to be moved just by anyone. The way it is created is that even we were unable to decode it. Marx could guess. Since he was being monitored, they kept deleting what they did not want him to find out yet. He could only accept it because he was not worthy yet of obtaining the information. "Then, where do I find it?" The rest of the information came out as a video of the path he would follow. The exact way to open the entrance, then the exact location of the core tech but he was shocked that it was nothing more than a cube of five centimeters. But that was not all about it. It was releasing a piercing blue, gold, red, green, white and black colour from its six faces. Then there were various security measures. Trying to breach it by force was going to do more harm such that all those who had tried had been warned not to force their way in. Marx finally grasped the structure of the room and he suddenly felt like he was in whirlpool before he felt his body back. He removed his hand from the button but he was shocked to find that he was being surrounded by thirteen people. He couldn't help but smile sheepishly. But luckily no one dared to hurt him because he was the key to their success in this operation. Marx decided to test them. He was certain they did not know where the core tech was or what it was. "I am here for the core tech. I hope you have not forced your way to look into it. Your technology currently can be considered to be thousands of light years from being able to decode it," Marx said with contempt. One scientist looked in the direction of what appeared like a blue glow that was floating on its own three meters aboveground. " That is the core tech?" Marx asked breaking into a fit of laughter. A thousand light years was a little time from his calculations. They were billions of light years if they could not even recognize the difference between a com-verse hard disk and the core tech. If they were having trouble breaching the hard disk then they were never going to realize that there was something greater than this. The group looked at him with different emotions. Some hate, some anger, some contempt etc. Some gave him complex gazes. Even the number 10 scientist pushed her glasses above the nose bridge her eyes darting from side to side. It really was shameful though. But being looked down by a kid who knew nothing changed these emotions to anger. He might have access to the computers but it could still work even if they broke some few bones... "Tie him up. We need to learn his genetic composition. The rest of you get your tools ready. This job just got easy. It is half finished," the number 10 spoke. The rest of the scientist obeyed and they went for a briefcase. It was black and its cover appeared like a hard tile. Well, calling it a briefcase could be termed as an insult. This was a Lab. It was placed on one of the tables and the eight scientists placed their hands on it for the scanner and after five seconds it opened. Marx was awed as he watched this. Completely ignoring the five guards who were surrounding him. Even they had forgotten their task and were all observing the scientists. But they received a glare from the number ten and they resumed in their task. These guards found it not in their place to deal with a teen suffering from adolescence. Just one of them was enough. But tth6ey failed to consider how he got past the guards. There was no stealth technique that could pass six of them. Especially not the door. If they thought this far, they would all attack at once. Marx realizing the purpose of the lab did not hesitate. He did not even consider the man approaching him beating his fists on his palms. Instead he raised his hand and pointed at the Lab. He clenched his fists and then his muscles releasing the pop sound as the blue bullet fired at the lab. Everyone in the room watched as the bullet tore through the air. But they all had no tension or fear for the Lab. This was because the Lab was supposed to be bullet proof. Even as they watched the bullet hit the lab they just gave him a glare and another one to the guards. But the laser bullet tore through it like it was nothing but wet peice of paper. All eyes landed on Marx. It was impossible to destroy the Lab. Even they knew that it was indestructible. But even as they watched it start burning, they still had the look of disbelief. To sum it up with one word was that it was impossible. They all then looked at the man who had been heading for Marx with angry glares. That Lab was worth the GDP of a whole planet. The man who had been approaching him came to a standstill. They thought it was because he realized his mistake but they had a horrified look as they saw him drop on his knees then falling on his side. A hole on his forehead. Marx had activated the two nozzles on the sides leaving the middle one. He had aimed at the man approaching him and the other bullet aimed at the Lab. The man died not knowing how he died. "What are you all waiting for? Kil... Capture him!" The scientist number ten roared unlike her femine sweet voice. Currently, Marx was worth more than the Lab. He could be said to be the key to the next breakthrough in technology. The guards all charged at him but Marx raised his hand and pointed at the hard disk or the core tech according to what they saw it. He had an evil smile on his face. The guards stopped to hear the next orders. His actions were clear, move and I will destroy it. Marx thought it better to destroy everything here so that no one would ever come back again. It was all useless to begin with. Only the core tech was of importance. "Listen boy, we don't know..." The number ten scientist tried to mediate the situation but Marx raised his left hand and clenched his fist. Shooting at one of the guards. "Don't move!" The number ten scientist gave the command and the guard aimed at could not disobey. The bullet pierced through his forehead and he dropped a second later. He was dead even before the bullet hit him. Now the guards had an ominous feeling. Were they nothing but toys? The core tech was worth more than them. There were now three of them remaining. Marx's action were clear. If they moved or spoke, he would take a guard out. Maybe they thought his arrogance was because he had leverage but they were wrong. Marx did not have the same thoughts. All he knew was that he could shoot at whatever he wanted at will. But who could have thought that Marx could not hesitate and shoot at the core tech? The eleven watched with wide eyes. Did the boy not value his life? They all watched as two bullets shot at the core tech. And without suspense, there was a cracking sound as the hard disk broke into thousands of pieces. Whoever monitoring him was dying of laughter. He made it seem as if he was in a dry place and ended up shattering their world. The hard disk was the most important thing in this mission of theirs as they thought that it was the core tech. But Marx shamelessly destroyed it. Marx's value had increased but not that much that his actions could go unforgiven. "Kill him!..." All scientists roared.
