Marx finished roasting the last fish. It had been three days of eating fish. It was probably the last time he was going to be in this areas. After this mission, he would head back home.
He just realized that his appetite had increased exponentially after the increase in his stats. Maybe if he had worked out, he would have reached the agility to 2 and he would be able to access the shell which was a better mask to his identity.
Marx having no use of the house again left it on fire. One could think of him as ungrateful but he did not even have those thoughts. This house was never going to help anyone from today after completing the mission.
Marx contemplated on whether he should go taking the guards in the checkpoints but he decided against it. If he made a mistake, he would have a hard time dealing with these guards. They could even alert their partners.
Thinking to this point, it was better to deal with only the six at the entrance. As he walked toward the direction of the base, he started activating Halo Steps. By the time he reached the first checkpoint, he had climbed to 200 meters and he was maintaining his height.
He walked above the unassuming guards of the first and second checkpoint. As he approached the Base's entrance, he started going lower. By the time he was reaching it's vicinity, he was almost five meters aboveground.
The first guard who saw him wanted to run thinking that a God or angel was descending. But remembering the consequences of failure, he steeled himself and got ready.
When the others saw his reaction, they all turned their gazes towards the incoming Angel or was it a God. They did not know. They just put their hands on their weapons and pointed them at him.
But they were shocked that even as he saw the six weapons pointed at him, he did not flinch or speak. Instead he maintained a constant speed his gaze never leaving them. He just had an amused smile as if he saw their weapons as toys.
This just helped in increasing their curiosity whether he was a Gof or an Angel. They were not sure how to even question him but a guard mustered his courage and spoke.
"State your identity and purpose. You should know that this is a restricted zone and trespassing is punishable by death," the guard said but the smile on the approaching guy kept growing.
Was it that he had not heard them? But the guy opened his lips and spoke words that shook them to the core.
"Is it? Those are the same words I wanted to tell all of you who are trespassing," Marx said with the smile never leaving him.
"Listen boy, we don't know how you managed to pull out that feat but you should know your boundaries. We have orders to kill intruders. Just turn back. Its a big shame killing a kid," another guard said. He seemed more irritated by Marx's reply.
"How come I have the same orders to kill all the intruders? And why does it seem that its you guys who don't know your boundaries?" Marx asked his smile forming once again once he was silent. It even turned to a grin.
Marx's words were direct and only low IQ people could not understand his words. He had no intention of turning back. He also knew about their purpose. He also meant that they were nothing but dead.
Marx also did not understand where all this confidence was coming from. He was talking about killing humans like it was just chicken. Well, they had crossed his limit threatening his life. He had no grudge with them before but he now had a reason to kill them.
One could think of his thoughts as hypocritical. Had he not come here to fulfil the mission? Had he just come to kill without a reason? Was he also not the one who had made them react this way?
Marx still did not stop as his feet finally landed on the snow five meters from the guards. He felt like strecthing which he did. The cracking sound from his back automatically brought another smile on his face.
The guards were at loss. Who had sent an immature kid here? They had no qualms killing him but his actions appeared like those of someone who did not know what he was doing.
"Tie him up. He is just a stray kid," a guard in command said dismissively ignoring the fact that it was common knowledge that there were no humans on earth. If so then, where had this one come from? His ignorance was going to be their downfall.
The others agreed with him and only two stepped forward to pin him down then tie him up. They were going to get answers from him. They even released their guns as they approached him.
Marx loved one thing about these two. They came at him completely lowering their guard. What these guards did not know was that they were dealing with someone who had single handedly killed a creature they could have to fight in groups of ten to kill.
One could ask what about their stats which reached ten? The answer was simple. These guys solely focused on a single stat. This was to mean that it was either they were fast strong or agile or fast.
With most of them being strong. Many who focused on strength mainly had been weakened in their speed and agility. Those who focused on speed were agile and unfortunately failed to focus on strength.
With all their stats combined, they could be a level or several below Marx. But that did not mean that they were to be taken lightly. You wouldn't want to face a fist that was worth almost a ton. These were people Marx was going to deal with.
He waited for the two until they were in the reach of his fists. Still, he had not moved or said a word in defense as they thought he would when he saw they were serious. Instead, he was grinning.
Even as an adult, it would still make you feel uncomfortable. Having someone they saw as a kid behave like Marx despite the seriousness of the situation was unheard off. What did it mean by his grin? Was he a paycho?
But that was not the worse but what about that knowing smile? Didn't that mean he knew the gravity of the situation yet he acted like it was child's play? This only helped in fueling their anger. If they did not teach the kid a lesson today, then they were not worthy of being called men!
Maybe they were not worthy for how could they get easily provoked? Could they not see theough his actions that they were playing right into his sleeve? Maybe they were going to regret in death.
They were less than half a meter from him. They had cracked their knuckes as they approached him. They too had gotten addicted to his grin and were both grinning. They were about to take action but who would have thought the kid would be so decisive?
Marx did not hesitate when he saw them in range of his fists. He punched towards the man on the left with his right hand. He saw the confused look which turned into a sneer. He could have dodged the fist but he wanted the boy to see that his actions were futile.
He did not even bother to block. What could a brat do to him. He even started talking to the other man to show his disregard for the boy. Marx did not know that his first kill would be this easy.
His fist instead landed on the man on the right and the left puch landed on the guy on the left. The sudden change caught the four observer's attention. Something like a piercing cold went through their spine. Something telling them that they would not live to see their comrades again after the fists landed.
The two men seemed to realize this but it was too late. The stared at the incoming fists they could not dodge. They did not even know where the fear was coming from. Even their heartbeats had increased.
They watched as the two punches each landed on their chests. The right punch landing a second before the left punch. There was a pop sound but they started laughing.
"Brat, see the consequences, you see you broke both your hands. Consequences of biting more..." The man on the right had started to jest. Even the four observers were laughing. They had the thoughts of taking this boy to be one of them. It was rare to find a spirited, fearless and decisive boy.
That pop sound sounded like breaking bones. But the sudden silence of the speaking man caught their attention. Even the man on the left had stopped laughing. The laughters died down as the man on the right started seeping blood from the right corner of his mouth.
He tried to wipe it but his strength faded when his arm was halfway. The second man felt some salty taste fill his mouth as blood seeped from the corner of his mouth. He did not need to know that his fate had been sealed the same way.
He submitted to the laws of gravity and fell on his knees then on his side lifeless. The same way the first guy had fallen. Marx retracted his fists and looked at his fingers. Opening and closing them.
So killing humans was this easy? Just one Fist Torpedo each and they had died. Humans truly were weak creatures. At least sandworms could withstand ove 100 punches...
If the four remaining heard his thought, they would make sure to skin him alive. Comparing them with sandworms? Did the brat know how difficult it was to deal with one?
What was stopping them from charging directly was fear of the unknown. They did not know the strength of the brat and also did not know how he had managed to kill their comrades. Even they would have a hard time at least twenty hits to kill one. Yet...
Marx was still lost in his mind not caring about them. He knew that no one would survive a bullet in the heart. Especially not a laser bullet. Lasers could cut through anything according to their in built power. Could a human heart stand a chance?
He raised his head and looked at the four men. All reaching for their guns. The fun was about to begin...
