Chapter 17 - Chapter 17. The Treatment

The gorilla slammed its fist on its chest again. The reverb that resounded like bass drums shook him. Just how was he supposed to fight that thing.

What he was not sure was whether his strength could cause any damage to it. Well, there was only one way to find out. It was also a good way to test his limits...

He did not run away as the monkeys expected to have some exercise and he charged at the gorilla.

Its towering figure stared at him with disdain. The gorilla did not underestimate him and also charged at him. The look on it showed that it underestimated him though.

It was the alpha's command for it to charge. Marx saw his opponent take him slightly seriously and he had to do the same. Even with the system boost, he did not know what amount of damage was enough to cause him pain.

Their eyes did not part as he leaped into the air. The gorilla did not also hesitate and swung its fist at him. He appeared like a small fly.

The gorilla's arm was enough to cover him completely and the attack seemed like a sweep in the air. He did not have the ability to rotate in the air and he was forced to take the gorilla's attack.

He was thrown meters away from the gorilla and he had to recheck his cards. He was realising his mistakes though. His coordination, reaction, agility and stamina were the lowest of his stats.

The stat's notification appeared as if it heard his thoughts.

If he could improve these stats, he would be invincible to some. The best time to practice these weak stats was by pressure. To improve his reaction and agility, this was his best shot.

The monkeys cheered when they saw his current situation. They were now seeing the light to the dark tunnels Marx had created. Seeing him get blown away like a pice of paper lightened their moods.

The gorilla roared and slammed its fists on its chest. Saliva spluttered from its mouth and its eyes showed dissatisfaction. Its opponent was too weak.

The alpha seeing this relaxed. It had been pushed over the edge few minutes ago by this human. The giant gorilla seemed to be doing its perfect job.

Seeing that hope had returned, it allowed the female monkeys on its side to insert their hands inside the trauser. It had a relaxed look as it stared at the scene before them.

Marx had been blown away about 30 meters. He stood up and wiped the blood on his mouth with the back of his hand. He had his hands on his stomach as he felt his stamina being rejuvenated.

He realised that if kept taking hits like that, even with the systems boost, he would not last five minutes before his stamina was fully drained.

He had been practising the past few days but he could not help but wonder. He could feel that his stamina had slightly increased and this brought his second question.

Just how much was needed to get away from the 0.? He scanned the gorilla and focused.

His reaction speed was too low such that he was unable to evade the uncoordinated hit from the gorilla. He was in the least bothered by the cheering for the gorilla.

There was no greater way of instilling fear and hopelessness than trampling on their pride and killing their morale. After he was done with the gorilla, the monkeys would definitely acquire a fear complex towards him.

He did not hesitate as he charged at the gorilla. He knew his stats and he knew his strengths. With the system's help, he had asked for the gorilla's stats which were slightly higher than his.

[Strength- 3

Speed - 0.4

Agility- 0.05

Reaction- 0.5

Stamina- 2

Coordination- 0.01

Intelligence - 1]

His strengths were its major weaknesses. Especially speed, he was sure that he could use that to his advantage. What he had not anticipated was for its stamina.

It's strength was acceptable but its stamina shook him. It was going to take him a long time to have it down. He had to mainly rely on his intelligence that was 5.

Well, what was the use of superstrength if you could not keep track of your opponent's movements? What if it could not catch him? What was the use of all that strength then?

He started going in a zigzag manner as his movements became blurry to the gorilla. It roared as its eyes scanned for him. It grit its teeth as its canines made it appear scary.

Marx then started going round it and circling it. The gorilla roared and started throwing its hands as if trying to hit him by chance. The cheering monkeys stopped one by one.

Marx seeing that he was making it frustrated, he could only rejoice. If he made it annoyed, it would stop listening to the alpha's command and it would go berserk.

Killing it would prove difficult but was easy that way. To frustrate even more, he charged forward at its separated legs. The gorilla was slow to react and when he reached it he jumped and slapped its balls like a high five.

He then ran forward and stood infront of it five meters. Seeing the desired result only made him happy. The gorilla roared once again and went on all fours.

It cut out the link with the alpha and charged at him on its own accord. It had grown tired of the thousands of instructions by the alpha. If it wanted to, then why not fight personally.

The gorilla crouched. It forgot about everything else and decided on brute force. It then sprung itself at him ready to pounce on him but Marx, even if his reaction was slow, he could supplement it with speed.

He quickly dodged the obvious attack maintained the five meters distance. The best way to anger it to the maximum was to render all its efforts useless.

Seeing that it had missed, it turned and crouched again and pounced at him. Marx sneered at it. It did not even bother to have a change of its tactics.

He easily dodged once again as the gorilla pounced at the ground. He laughed lightly when he saw it get even more angered. That's the spirit! He shouted in his mind and maintained the five meter distance.

The gorilla stood on its hind legs now. It roared at him and slammed its fists on its chest. Every monkey had a deja Vu. Was this not what the female gorilla had done right before it lost?

The gorilla tried to plummet on him using its intertwined fists but it ended up hitting the ground. But Marx did not even bother to change the distance and stood five meters away.

The gorilla raised its fists again and tried to plummet him again but missed narrowly.

Unable to control its wrath, it fell on all fours again and started charging at him.

Marx saw its reaction and he knew that his objective had been achieved. Now what was left was to completely shatter its ray of light and finish it off easily.

The gorilla started chasing after him. Like a cheetah chasing after a gazelle. Smartly, Marx maintained a thirty centimeters distance between them.

The monkeys once again started cheering when they saw him on the run. The gorilla chased with newly found vigor.

It was so determined to catch him that it forgot that the distance netween them never changed. Even when it threw its fist, he was always 30 centimeters ahead.

The stadium once again went silent. All had the same question in their minds. It had been almost three minutes and the gorilla now appeared like it was chasing its shadow.

Marx knew that his stamina would never deplete with running. He made sure that the gorilla had high hopes of catching him by sometimes narrrowing the distance between them with a few centimeters.

In the three minutes, the gorilla ended up panting and stopped gradually. It could not help but wonder how it failed because the ant it was chasing was always right before its nose.

It almost fell on its knees when it saw him standing infront of it only 5 centimeters away. It tried to raise its right hand but it dropped it. Marx just found the opening he had created.
