Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 | Young Master

Ignalis is a peaceful city with a diverse population of races. The town consists of Humans, Elves, Matrona, Demonblood, and Demi Humans, alongside a few other races scattered throughout. Each race has Council Seats and representatives based on their contributions to the city. The same rules apply to all religious organizations within the walls of Ignalis.

The humans are a diverse backbone of the city, with average frames and strengths. They are employed for various odd jobs, and their majority within the Adventurers Guild, a government organization, is crucial to these functions.

Elves, with their magical bloodlines and ancestry, are more suited to magical studies and administrative positions. These roles are considered honorable and are aligned with their bloodlines. Due to their deep connection to nature and long lifespans, elves are more adept and talented at understanding the magic that surrounds them in the world.

The Rules of the city are upheld by the Guards of Ignalis, a group of armed individuals who are empowered by the city council.

This group is an aggregate of Demonbloods and Matrona, humanoid creatures with red skin and demonic features like horns, bat wings, and many others. Unlike the Demonbloods, the Matrona was an all-female race of four armed muscle warriors whose skin was any pastel color of the rainbow, their soft hair usually tied into a braid.

Currently, the city guards were stationed around a large wooden building situated on a stone foundation. Its long history was evident in the old architecture and deeply weather-stained wood.

Some guards were yawning as the sun held its place high in the sky, its blazing heat only increasing as the meridian approached.

The heavy doors of the City Hall swung open, revealing a hulking Demonblood with deep red skin. Its horns were covered in trance-inducing spirals, and its leathery bat wings were adorned with golden accessories that held deep cultural significance and reflected its clan heritage. The ground rumbled with each of its heavy steps as it exited the building, accompanied by a female imp with short legs and leathery wings, who seemed minuscule in comparison.

Walking alongside each other, shortly after the Demonblood of the Thorn clan, two Elves strolled peacefully, engaging in light conversation. Their lengthy white robes trailed behind them, contrasting the dark brown wreaths they wore, symbolic of respect and achievement within their community.

Shortly behind the pair of Elves, a Matrona was wearing a full set of plate armor to protect her entire body, leaving her head covered as well. She carried two spears and had throwing daggers concealed between the armor plates. Her outfit was an extreme example, even among her fellow Matronas.

Over the last three hours, these representatives and many more had gathered to discuss multiple topics. the main points of the meeting were the recent awakening of the enigmatic gates and the arrival of a prince of a foregin country.

The Prince was Allad Von Light V, the prince of a Holy Nation just south of Ignalis, on the other side of the Light mountain range. His officially stated business was to inspect the reported appearance of a holy phenomenon within the doors of Ormr, a deity considered inferior by the sacred city and their king.

His abrupt appearance was supposed to be happening within the hour, as a room, servants, and bodyguards were procured. Their job was to protect him, in addition, to keeping him away from the followers of Ormr, a fight between the two groups having sparked a lasting tension between the neighboring city-states.

As the sun hung high in the sky a majestic carriage rolled through the front gate accompanied by a small group of guards, all wearing white armor.

The carriage rolled through the streets of Ignalis, only stopping before the embassy, a building reserved for important visiting foreigners.

From the carriage, out stepped a leather shoe, resting at the bottom of a mans figure. the man, Allad Von Light V, was dressed up in luxurious silks and golden accessories. his shirt was a plain white with two rows of golden buttons about neck length apart and his left should dropped in a golden colored braid that hung down onto his left breast, where the only silver on his body hung in the form of a silver encrusted black gemstone.

As his one foot landed the ground shook, and a large stone door open. A bright light emanated from the Dull stone door, its white entrance giving off an inviting feeling.

The shaking ground threw the off-balance Allad to the ground. The princes pristine white cloths where dirtied and his silver encrusted gemstone fell from his left breast, Skipping along the ground and into the hands of a beggar.

The beggar subsequently ran off, his ticket to a modest life in hand.

While the trinket held little importance the the young entitled prince, his dignity had felt a slight burn, a burn he blamed on the mighty stone doors at the end of the street. And with his Dignity mostly intact and easily fixable with a quick change of clothes, Allad Von Light Swore that before he left he would bring those stone doors down, no matter what.

turning too his head Maid, Allad Barked out his orders, "Get me information on that stone gate. Find me some people to destroy it. And meet me in my room later."

With a trembling voice the, 160cm blond human girl, Responded shakily, "Y-yes Master Allad, I w-will find someone to destroy the g-gate."

"Damn Lowly slave! I also told you to gather information on it. As punishment, no food for tonight!" Allad shouted while he slapped the short girl, sending her too the ground.

"Yes M-Master Allad." the Short girl practically yelled. her display of fear seen by many, but none dared step in. Unlike Ignalis, the holy city did not concern the use of slaves, and even had magic to enforce their status, though one for high level slaves. these slave marks where expensive to produce, and mages who where willing where even harder to find.

with her order given, she scampered off into the streets of Ignalis. The hunt for information had began.
