The stone doors of the church carved with precision burst open revealing a large room built out of stone and lit with floating candles, and a figure covered in a shadowy blue cloak embroidered with silver stars and constellations, rushed in along a blue carpet with its end meeting a shrine where a priest stood draped in platinum jewelry.
Reaching before the priest, the individual of lower standing, denoted by the difference in clothing, let out his words, panting for breath. "Head priest... Roland... the team failed to... set up a... camp within the dungeon of... Ormr. Now the blasphemous... worshippers of... Ormr... have a chance."
Looking at the statue of a large Stout man, his hair flowing down to his shoulders, and his eyes pure black orbs of obsidian, the head Priest looked back and stated, "We can not relent, we shall prove only our god is worthy of the title 'god of knowledge' and crush their false beliefs with our strength."
"Yes head priest Roland, for Apolion's glory."
"For Apolion's glory Brother," replied Roland, the head priest.
Across town in a building not too different in materials, but much different in design with its raised prayer room, and snake statue in the center, a meeting was being held.
A man whose face was lit by a lantern of white fire, colored by chemical agents, Spoke with conviction and a Righteous voice at the head of a table, "Fellow Followers or Ormr, Our God paradise has opened... and within resides a Threatening breed Skeleton, a Lich. But fear not! for Ormr has spoken through the tablets of truth! This Lich is our companion in faith, a holy one blessed by Ormr, that is why they cannot be vanquished with Holy power. It's our duty as followers of Ormr to contact our fellow companions in faith and help each other out."
The man's voice raged on for the remainder of the night planning how they would successfully contact the Lich without causing a misunderstanding.
The lich in question had still not reopened the doors of his dungeon, deep in thought about what he should do before reopening his doors. repelling the adventurers without giving any of them rewards would be detrimental to him as they would probably not come back!
Putting the issue aside, Skuggir inspected his four new Eclipse Skeleton archers. their bones now coal black like his, and their arrows covered in plasma when notched. Within their ribs, an orb of fire had appeared like a heart, with its every pulse sending fiery cracks along the skeleton's surfaces. Not knowing if this was good or bad, Skuggir did not panic and instead waited for nighttime.
Sadly his skeleton minions had not revived as they were not alive before his evolution. hiring new skeletons, Skuggir immediately evolved them, which depleted his gold coins even further even with the added money from the cloaked individuals
Now Skuggir had Four Eclipse Skeleton archers, and Six Eclipse Skeleton Hoplites, each Hoplite held a spear the length of their body and a large round shield with the Imprint of a snake, skull, and wings of an angel on it.
It must have something to do with those three, wonder if they are having fun watching me... am I like their pet? no, no, no... I shouldn't think about such things.
Not wanting such a problematic situation to arise again, Skuggir decided to move around his rooms with his map function, switching the second room and first room locations. This change did not happen peacefully though. The walls shook, and the path to the second room and the great stone gate disappeared, replaced by a black void.
Moments later the rumbling came to a slow stop and subsided with the reappearance of the first room and now the third room which was the start of the maze his other skeleton minions were mining.
Seeing his chance, Skuggir was quick to help the skeletons set up the first room again and explained the plan to the new skeletons, lure the humans in, and defeat them with the help of the archers that flank the room in Stoney rooms about ten feet off the floor.
After making sure everything was for the twentieth time this week, Skuggir re-opened the stony gates again. but this time the limits he could set could not be put below the D-rank level, meaning more powerful threats could enter, and his only deterrent at the moment was closing the door.
But then he would be stuck in debt, and could not grow for the rest of his life if he did that! Skuggir needed to expand his dungeon and fast, his defenses could no longer rely solely on skeletons, and Skuggir realized he must now purchase or concoct traps himself to properly defend his dungeon from future invaders.
With his debt slowly compounding, Skuggir not only needed to gain money but lots of money quickly. His plan was simple but would soon be tested for its expected efficiency.
Skuggir would plant gold throughout the first room, some of the gold would be real while most of it would be fake. Then, once some adventurers Were let in they would be allowed to escape with their lives. After they report their successes to the rest of the city just outside his gates, he would have tons more adventurers coming into his dungeon, and not just a group or two at a time.
Within his genius plan now throughout, Skjuggir spent a few golds on a few piles of fake gold and scattered them throughout the room, including about one hundred gold coins among the fake piles.
Now with everything ready, Skuggir opened the great stone doors of his dungeon once again.
