Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 | Diggy Diggy hole

Skuggir's renovation ideas were simple, he wanted too put more distance beetwen the core room he had built and the entrance while also adding some traps. the first room, that wich housed the large stoney entrance, was already finished and Skuggir had commanded five of the skeletons with pickaxes too try and make holes in the floors of the hallways.

These holes would be filled with sharp and and uneven stone, the hope being that the adventures would sprain or break an ankle after falling into them. in order to make sure they would fall in Skuggir wanted to cover them, but sadly he had nothing simple to cover them with.

Skuggir's second room, wich he was moulding with [Mould Earth], was just a rectangular room with pillars and large rock formations scattered throughout it.

This design choice of scattered rock formations was more for taking the adventurers time because like his previous Idea to put passages that flanked the rooms sides for Skeleton archers to shoot out from, these rocks would provide false cover for the adventures stopping them from getting the idea to just run through the room.

While slowly moving the earth, Skuggir found a much harder rock, its color a dark tan.unable to move the ore even though it was a part of the earth, Skuggir opted to mould around it. This plan was put down soon after, as the ore was to large for Skuggir to carry weather it was him or all the skeletons so far.

Iignoring it for the time being Skuggir made sure to give the archer skeletons full view of the entire room, making sure their shots had all the sight needed to land and kill the targets. As a joke Skuggir even put some scattered fake coins made of chocolate around the room to keep the city dwellers more occupied!

For his final room before the core room, Skuggir decided to call all skeletons with picks, including those working inside the first rooms hallway, to start just digging randomly and make a maze of tunnels and if they find any rocks that where harder then normal that they should collect them inside the core room.

But before they could commence their work, Skuggir had them unearth the ore he previously found, only to figure out it was iron after selling it for 50 gold to the menu.

Watching his ten skeleton miners dig in groups of two in different directions, their future progress only showing to him after a long wait, one with he would not do idely.

While the mining of the tunnels where happening in the back of the dungeon, skuggir found the two groups five skeletons each. Bringing them all two the second room with the odd landscape dotted with rock formations, Skuggir told he two groups his plan and helped the archer skeletons to position themselves.

After running through the plan with just pure words it was time to see if his underling had understood him. Too test them he would have a mock battle happen. There was nothing to be worried about as the arrow could not harm skeletons due to their sharp rather than blunt tips.

The mock battle included the six remaining swordsmen skeletons all with better but non-matching swords followed by nothing but the clacking of their jokes.

The group focused up as they entered the room, spreading out and immediately dashing through the room taking temperery cover behind each rock, but for no moe then two to three second at a time. With only a qourter of the room cleared arrows started to run down on them half the team eliminated by a arrow hitting their bone.

While such a hit would not kill a human the test was simplified for the sake of easy repetitiveness and simple confirmation of hits. This made the skeleton archers have to quickly switch targets while still being able to confirm their hits!

Just moments after clearing three courters of the room only two of the original six remained, abandoning and cover they may have taken earlier they both dashed for the end, the rattle of their quickly shifting bones sending echoes throughout the cave.

With four arrows closing in on the two they both jumped in different direction, with only one making it across the full room and the other one being eliminated.

They ran these mock battles multiple times with each one delivering different results. In the first few the running skeletons would progressively get better at some point half the group of six made it across, but something changed and after the tenth run-through the archers had eliminated everyone every time.

the plan for this room was that not just the archers would stay in here but all the skeletons, as this way the adventures would be bought up by the swordsmen while the archers could pick them off, and with this practice even if they tried to run through they would still die!

this plan had taken little time for Skuggir to think up, and would see action very soon, as Skuggir went to check on the maze miners. their progress slow and grueling five tunnels they had started with had only been mined out a total of ten feet over the course of the last two and a half hours.

The city of Ignalis was currently blanketed with darkness as the two moons hung high in the sky. within the church of Ormr a group of high priests all where all on one knee as they prayed to Ormr asking for guidance in regards to the holy doors opening.

The head priest who had head the word of Ormr consistanly sense he was twelve heard hew whispers in his ear. "do not destroy the dungeon, friends reside within"

the Head priest was shocked and quickly shared the goddesses guiding words with the other high priests. they where all confused as all who entered the dungeon where attacked and a group had even died.
