Chapter 1 - CHAPTER ONE: THE FIRST HOUR

It all started late at night when the glistering moonlight shone towards the dirty mad puddle right outside my home. A raging barrage of words was thrown left right and centre between me and my lovely wife. She had, had enough of the frustration of my long hours trying to find, a very powerful infamous villain that had darkened the clouds of not only my life but hers. An epitome of mysterious villainy and evil of a single man with the oddest of names. Bakari was his name, and death was his game. He was a powerful force that felt non-existent to the public eye, yet very well felt in the private eye.

My wife felt anger, frustration, pain, and sadness and every emotion overcame her, as her overwhelming emotions consumed her very essence and been. She decides to drive away her sadness and frustrations to feel calmer and more relaxed. She gets into her car and hits play on her soothing favourite playlist, as she sets herself to push the peddle and leave her wonderful home, which has been plagued with so much darkness and pain, I rushed to convince her to come back to the house to discuss the issues further, but my plea fell on deaf ears. She drives off in her small stylish coupe-type car and goes off the driveway, leaving me in a very distrustful and defeated manner, as I watch her drive away not knowing that, it is going to be my last.

As she drives away, with the music playing in the background, she tries to hold her tears as the sad music sways away in a very melodic manner. She can't hold her tears anymore as they roll down her cheeks like the river Nile. She then remembers something Important that might help her solve her darkest mystery and as she tries to reach for the key to solving the puzzle of her long dark mystery, she loses control of her car and gets into an accident.

Later on, I try to reach her but she doesn't answer. I decided to let it go and rest my weary body after working and toiling over this powerful dark vacuum of a mystery that has broken the relationship of my wife, my love, and my other half, not knowing that I have just lost her forever. The next early morning, the news arrived like a freight train with a powerful engine crashing me completely. I lost a partner I thought I wasn't worthy of due to my ghost always prevailing and consuming me. I was empty, sad and defeated and thought all was lost until I discovered a key to regress and fix the puzzles of my darkest mystery and that I might actually correct my wrongs and finally achieve my greatest success.

....

Ah yes, the beginning. I was the best in the city. Bironai, the great pride of Azima county in the great state of Dalia, was filled with the worst scum of the earth. I'm talking corrupt lawyers, judges, police, the railway man the poster boy in the city, the priest, the bartender, teachers, NGOs and the king of all the governments. Of course, not everyone was the same, there were the good ones like me. I was the good detective you know the guy that doesn't sleep until the city is cleansed completely, I mean look at my portfolio the gang rape in the central business district, five guys in jail all in under three weeks. I was in my element that was after I was fired from the criminal investigative department, starting my firm was the best decision I ever made. First, I started from the basics, I looked for highly desperate and very influential people. I am talking cheating wives and husbands, that politician everybody hates, the richest thief in the county etc. the list goes on and on and on. Then I will start preparing myself to investigate the less fortunate, you know the lower hierarchy. I was on fire then came the Bakari case. The client's name was Lisa Wakabi and boy was she beautiful. As she was approaching with a very huge bulky man behind her, with a nice grown business skirt suit, she-cat walked towards my table like a gracious feline approaching her throne. She had lovely eyes that looked like the stars you could just stare at them for so long that it was like you were staring at the soul of the universe. Her lips were full and plump and her ebony skin glowed like the fireflies shining glimmering in the night sky.

"Hey focus" I answered thoughtfully.

I was approaching the table at the Crown Jewels Hotel looking sharp in my three-piece suit, but I had to keep my thoughts in check and follow the rules of being a successful private investigator. So, I approached her and shook her soft silky hands, my god stop thinking of stuff like that already. Now remember she's the client, just a client.

" Detective pleased to meet you" she spoke,

"Pleasure to meet you too" I added.

We sat together at the same time like brains were wired with the same motherboard. The strange bulky man then left for a while, to discuss the important issues at hand.

She started explaining her case and had elaborate files about how things unfolded, by the way, she started as a part-time model before becoming a lawyer. My head was just spinning because in my mind I was like who the hell is this angel? I just had to know her to a whole deeper level.
