I arranged a meeting with Lisa, and then I decided to update her on the case and told her that's possible there is an informant within her law firm that she works and that if she wants to take down Bakari she has to uproot the weeds that are in her office.
"Well, Mr Kinai, I hope you have good news for me," she stated.
"I have both good and bad news. Which one should I tell you first?" I asked
"Start with the bad news first." She replied eagerly
"Okay, so the bad news is that Bakari is real and he and his group the unknowns her connections everywhere, including your place of work," I answered immediately.
"Wait, how did that happen Goodwill law firm is very honest and follows the law. It's one of the reasons why I joined, considering how horrible Biranoi law firms are very corrupt." She protested adamantly.
"I understand you trust the law firm but we have to consider all angles here. For example, you ever wondered why you lost the pharmaceutical case on 27th June when the judge considered the case had insufficient evidence, well one of your employees tampered with evidence." I replied in protest
"No, my team was the best and very professional, they couldn't have done that, plus the judge in the case is Aaron Declan. He is a veteran and decorated judge who is very trustworthy," She replied with admission.
"Are you sure about that? I asked tentatively.
I then presented the case files and then presented evidence of Declan being a corrupt judge and also showed her the person who tampered with the evidence turned out to be her close ally and college they went to the same law firm together. His name is Daudi Chacha. He also sabotaged the cases they had together with Lisa and it was obvious that he was in cohorts with the unknowns and this became difficult for Lisa to handle. So, I had to tell her the somewhat good news and that was the case of Frank.
"I'm sorry about all this, can I at least tell you the good news about Frank," I said remorsefully.
"Y..yes sure what's the good news," she replied while trying to hold back her tears. She felt betrayed.
"Well, the good news is that Frank didn't commit suicide, He was murdered and it appeared to be suicide," If I'm not mistaken Frank me have known who Bakari is, or was close to finding out," I stated confidently.
"So, does this mean we can reopen the case? She asked eagerly.
"Yes, you can but this time you have to be careful," I replied.
"Finally, I can get justice for Frank. She can finally get her peace." She replied happily.
"I'm sorry she? I asked curiously.
"My mother-in-law was more convinced that someone didn't kill himself. I can finally get the justice she was asked for." She replied.
She then tried to call her mother-in-law but I stopped her and told her that her phone could be bugged. I then gave her a banner phone she could use to communicate with me, and I also informed her office could be bugged. I then told her to go back to the office and to pretend that she fired me and that she had given up on Franks's case. And she had to sound convincing, especially to someone like Chacha. I then told her to pretend that everything was normal to not alarm the unknowns who bugged her office.
She then went back to her office and when she immediately entered her office, chacha came in and wanted to find out about my meeting with Lisa.
"Hello princess, how did it go with your P.I." He stated curiously
"Not well, it's a dead end. So, I fired him." She answered tentatively
"Oh, I'm so sorry princess. I hope now you can move on." He stated in a remorseful way.
Chacha then left after giving a message about a new top client that his rival in the office Betty Mumbi, has just brought in a very influential client named Elim Cruz. After Chacha left, Lisa started to look for the bugs and found a couple of listening devices. She then pulls out her banner phone messages me and then tells me that there are bugs in her office. I reply that we do everything as planned. Lisa then sits and starts to piece two and two together as to why, chacha would betray her. At first, she thought that it was because he was still pissed that she got married to Frank and that she didn't love him. But then she doesn't under why he would have an alliance with one of the worst criminals just to get at her for not reciprocating his love for her.
After getting the message, I was in the taxi outside the building of the law firm. I decided to tell the taxi driver to take me to the hospital to meet with Lisa's sister and this time I would make sure that she didn't up dead, due to my inactive to solve Frank's case.
