The competition would take place at the main Island. The centre of the island had various platforms built for today. Thousands of students would fight on the different platforms. Out of them the top hundered would fight in the middle arena which would garner the most attention.
Half of the participants had a numbered tag on them and the other half would be given a tag by the teachers. The teachers would make sure that the two fighters are almost even in strength to make it fair but this didn't always work since there would be geniuses who couldn't be measured by normal standards and some students liked to hide their strength so even the teachers had no idea about their level.
All of the students participating were in the fourth meridian stage with the best of them having opened twenty one accupoints.
There were numerous spectators in the stands including elite and core disciples wanting to take a look at their future rivals. All the teachers were present along with the vice headmasters and the headmaster himself was also present.
The students chosen today would leap towards the sky and have a chance to compete on a whole different level so none of the inner disciples would miss this chance.
The competition began and the the students with the tags one to thirty seven were called on different platforms. Their opponents were also called and the fighting began. All of them on the platform had opened less than ten accupoints since they were relatively weaker among the inner disciples.
Some lost, some accepted defeat and few showed a good performance. The competition continued and finally it was Thadius's turn. He was facing against a disciple with fourteen accessed accupoints. The disciple wasn't underestimating Thadius because of his unassuming demeanor. Thadius was from the Ma clan and the Ma clan wouldn't send someone mediocre to the academy. The opponent attacked with full strength without delay but Thadius could see his every movement even without going into battle mode.
Using his ice meridians Thadius froze the area where the opponent was going to step on, making him loose his balance. In the single second it took him to regain his footing Thadius had already closed the distance between them with his fist right in the opponents face knocking him out. The battle ended relatively quickly.
Though this wasn't enough to attract everyone's attention, the Ma clan members were all watching this battle wanting to judge Thadius's strength. Among the onlookers a few gazes were particularly intense. They were Hercule and Hemcur. Both of them knew Thadius wasn't somone they could underestimate. Hercule had always wanted to fight Thadius, after all he was his idol's son. He thought if he could defeat Thadius fair and square Maximus might agree to teach him. As for Hemcur he wanted revenge. His father had lost all standing in the family. Even though Maximus hadn't said anything other elders in the family had started to distance themselves from his father. Hemcur wanted to crush Thadius to prove his worth so that the elders could see that he was the one they should be afraid of.
Thadius went back to the stands where all the participants were waiting. Ajax and Kian were sitting together giving him a thumbs up.
The two of them were the only ones other than Maximus who had an idea of what Thadius was capable of since they had seen him entering battle mode. Thinking about that moment still sent shivers down their spine.
Kian had also won his fight and it was finally Ajax's turn after quite a while. Ajax was a well known genius of the Ma clan and had completed various missions so he was placed quite high. His opponent was a genius of the Fang clan, someone he already knew. The man was Heishan Fang.
