Chereads / The Tale of Thadius / Chapter 21 - Other Battles

Chapter 21 - Other Battles

Total of eighteen participants, each one the cream of the crop. The best of the best

The centre stage was set up

The spectators increased in number.

Now most of the elite and core disciples were present. It was guaranteed that the remaining ones would most definitely become elite disciples. As for core disciples, no one could say

It would depend on the Vice Head's.

If they fancy anyone or not

The first battle was between Walco Leone and a personal disciple named Oman Tribirius. He was the most likely candidate for the Young Saint position of his clan.

Walco knew the battle would be difficult but he wouldn't back down

"I have to win . Fiano and all the clan members are watching. I have to show them what I am capable of"

Sandly for Walco he wasn't the protagonist. Even though he gave Oman some trouble he still wasn't able to win.

Oman was born with the rare Lava meridians and a Vice Head also had Lava meridians so he was taken as a personal disciple as soon as he entered the academy and the art he was using was The Molten Magma Art. It was tailor made for his meridians and his master didn't hold back while teaching him so he was quite a bit stronger than Walco.

The second battle was between Von Searing and Jakon Ma. One poseesing Lightning Meridians and other with Shadow Meridians.

This was a hard fought battle since both of them preferred speed over power.

Sparks flew on the stage with both the fighters appearing and disappearing with astonishing speed. Though in the end Jakon was able to secure a narrow victory but Von still made quite an impact.

Hercule was paying extra attention to this battle since Jakon was one of his leading competitors for Young Saint position.

Hercule was an elite disciple but since none of the Vice Head's chose him he could only become a core disciple through merit.

"What do you think about the Searing kid" asked Vice Head Dana to Vice Head Makao who was Jakon's master also possessing Shadow Meridians.

"He's good but it's a pity nobody among us has lightning meridians otherwise he would have been taken as a personal disciple right away"

Dana nodded agreeing with him, sometimes it wasn't that the youth wasn't talented enough but that he had some other kind of talent and taking him in would instead dampen his growth. That's why while taking in disciples similarity of meridians was very important.

The fights continued with most going in the personal disciples favour but there are always upsets like when Voris Drogo won against a personal disciple.

The Drogo clan was a moderate sized clan famous for their Beast Meridians. The only reason they weren't counted among the top clans was because for some reason they found it difficult to conceive. So their population wasn't a lot. In this generation they had fourteen clansmen and Voris was the undisputed strongest already becoming The Young Saint. Not just in this generation he could be counted as one of their best talents since the founding of the Drogo Clan.

He was able to amplify his strength and defence by transforming into a half beast like creature thus defeating his enemy in a battle of endurance.

Other than him Ronea Omga the only female among the non personal disciples was also able to secure her victory. She had Illusion Meridians which had frightening deception abilities.

Only the two of them were able to win, the other six battles ended in the personal disciples victory .

Now it was finally Thadius's turn.

The audience was already pumped having witnessed so many spectacular fights already but that didn't dampen the momentum of this fight since everyone was looking forward to seeing Fiano in action.

As for Thadius no one present thought he could win.

In their eyes Thadius was strong but Fiano was someone who was born to lead the new generation.

Fiano and Thadius took their positions at opposite ends of the battle platform.

Both the teenagers were handsome. One had sharp eyes and a dominating atmosphere the other with an easygoing expression and a suble smile.

Countless female disciples were lovestruck looking at the two contrasting figures. On as bright as the sun and the other as elusive as the moon. Even a few female teachers couldn't help but raise an eyebrow looking at the fighters on stage.

Fiano noticed that Thadius's index finger was twitching.

" He is probably scared and that smile looks pretty forced "

Fiano thought this would be easy but will soon realise how fickle his thinking is.

Thadius was twitching not because he was scared but because he was shivering with excitement.

His smile was forced because he was trying his best not to grin like madman.

" Finally this moment is here"
