My face was written with so much cluelessness. Maybe I was mistaken unless they suddenly invited her to the birthday party.

"Well, things take a turn, doesn't it?" She said out of the blue relaxing herself on the bed. "Tomorrow, I want you to attend a bidding. I won't be able to attend either." She pointed at her broken arm and I nodded in understanding.

A bidding party? I don't remember the last time I ended one.

"And guess what? It is a famous designer that is hosting it. I hear he has been in the industry for a very long time. It will be best if you attend it. After all, he is in the same sector as the Rodriguez Group. A jeweler with perfect fashion sense."

I was stunned for a bit. I didn't know there were freelance jewelers outside my father's company. It was about ten years ago, when they were poached to work for Rodriguez.
