"I am annoyed with him right now, I don't want to know what he did or did not do. Don't ruin the night for me, alright?"
"One day you will understand, maybe not now but one day." Carl gave a slight pat on Lucian's shoulders, and rose from the chair. "I see you want some time alone. I will give you some space. On your way, here is your mother's key to her room. I just had them cleaned." Lucian opened his palms and received it, the key dangling from his hands.
"Take a break from work, Old Man."
"Who will pay my salary?" He chuckled, turning around and striding towards the exit. He gave Lucian one last look before departing eventually. Lucian stretched on the bench, his hands on his knees as he looked around.
