Chapter 41 - Chapter Forty One

~Who is she?~

The hall turned busy as the royalties chit chatted. Numerous butlers going here and there sharing drinks and pastries.

"Lansel, what if your goddess is amongst the ladies here?" Queen Diantha turned to Lansel, who was sitting on a chair beside her, having an expressionless look.

His eyes darted around the hall like he was searching for someone and eventually landed on that beauty goddess.

He missed not seeing her in the first place for she looked gorgeous. The latter didn't seem to notice Lansel's gaze as she chatted happily with princess Neriah and princess Aleazea.

Queen Diantha followed Lansel's line of gaze and it landed on Niamh, she frowned.

"Lansel?" She called and Lansel snapped his head to look at her.

"I asked you a question but you seem to be lost" Queen Diantha's frown deepened, looking rather displeased

"I didn't still find that goddess" he replied in a neutral tone of voice. He wasn't wearing any expression making it difficult to fathom what he's thinking.

But truly, what's going on in Lansel's mind is quite a complicated question. The Queen mentioned something like he'll be crowned as the Moon Supreme in a fortnight. Then, did the Queen plan for an arranged marriage?

about the goddess?

Did she find her?

Queen Diantha sighed and turned to Dionysios.

"No worries, brother. You'll be crowned as the Moon Supreme" her replied instead.

"Without the goddess?" Lansel asked again. The Queen and Dionysios smiled knowingly and nodded.

"Let's discuss that once the banquet is over" Queen Diantha stated.

Lansel shrugged his shoulders and left to meet someone.

"I can't wait to see his reaction when he finds out I plan an arranged marriage with his anonymous goddess" Queen Diantha said.

"He'll surely be mad at you. Lansel is always Lansel"

Princess Neriah, princess Aleazea and Lady Neev were chatting happily. The other four princesses were also there, still fuming in jealousy.

"So tell me Lady Neev, which noble family are you from? Which house? Let me guess, House Thorn? Or... House Graylen?" Aleazea asked, guessing and giggling.

"I..." Niamh made to talk but Princess Gabriella cut her off- she's one of the elf princesses, Aleazea's younger sister.

"No way, she must have sneaked into the Realm. Or maybe, she's a fugitive" she stated, mockingly.

"Gabriella!" Aleazea called in a warning tone but she only rolled her eyes.

"Obviously. Because the last time I came to the Realm, I didn't come across anyone named Neev" princess Alessia, the fairy princess added.

"She's a lowlife supernatural from the Calm Region!" Princess Rialorna broke the bombshell.

"Is that how she seduced Prince Lansel? He united the Calm Region for her sake?" Another fairy princess, Mariella gasped, sarcasm dripping in her voice.

"Hey, so what she's a lowlife supernatural? She's still the prettiest here. If my brother hears you mocking her, you'll all be dead" Princess Neriah defended, getting pissed off by their jealous remarks.

"Oh c'mon, princess. It's the truth. She seduced Prince Lansel and he transformed the Calm Region for her. What a fair trade!" Princess Mariella giggled along with the other four.

"You...!"

"Oh Princess, there's no way you can defend your brother. He did the right thing, didn't he? He used his eyes to pick an eye catching lady" princess Gabriella cut her off.

"You sound jealous" princess Neriah gritted.

"Can't you shut your mouth for once. All of you!" Princess Aleazea whisper yelled.

Lady Neev lowered her head and listened to them without saying anything. She's normally the type who doesn't get irritated by people's comments. But these girls are already getting on her nerves. What should she do with them?

Maybe she should retort with her words. She looked up and was about to say something when she sensed a presence behind her.

She slowly turned to see Lansel glaring at her. No, not her but the four princesses mocking her. His cold eyes glimmered with a dangerous light, piercing into their souls and chilling them more than the freezing temperature.

He took a step forward and slowly wrapped his hand around Neev's waist, Niamh breath hitched.

"I will make you chew back those words" his voice was filled with a certain rage. A warning was burning within it which made them recoil in fear. They knew what he said, he meant it and he'll do it. They knew better than to get on the Prince's bad side. The whole of Elvkinles and Revildia cannot save them from this prince.

"Mercy Your Serene Highness, I apologise for their undisciplined tongues" princess Aleazea bowed instead.

Lansel's gaze raked over her and Niamh quickly grabbed his arm, giving him a pleading look.

Somehow, the daggers and ancient glaciers in his eyes seemed to have been washed away and was replaced by a calm green sea.

The princesses gaped in surprise seeing how that lowlife supernatural calmed down the prince with just a mere stare. There seemed to be a magic in her silver eyes.
