Chapter 47 - Chapter Forty Seven

~Overpowered~

Princess Neriah was walking to and fro in her bed chamber. She looked so restless as she brainstormed for a way to find Niamh. She wanted to help her brother and also, Niamh is her friend. She wants to help her when she had the chance.

After a while, she paused like she'd finally came up with an idea.

"If Niamh fell into the river, and the river flowed down to the Breathing Sea, and then (gasps) the sea god!" She exclaimed happily and disappeared.

Neriah stood in front of the Breathing Sea, the full moon illuminated the wide sea with it's silver lights, giving the sea the feeling of certain sereneness and tranquility. The sea was still, undisturbed and unheeded under the bright starry night.

Neriah cupped her hands, chanting some inaudible mantra when she heard a screeching growl behind her. She tensed up and turned to see a scary black dragon standing behind her. It's bright red eyes were glaring down at her and his wife nose was breathing out smoke.

On its back was Prince Damien, the demon prince. He was smirking as he noticed Neriah's shocked expression.

"Hello, little princess" prince Damien's deep voice echoed making Neriah gasp. She braced up and faced him.

"What do you want, devil?" She asked with a firm voice.

"Stop acting courageous, little princess. You're throwing yourself into hell" Damien replied, his eyes were full yet intense.

"I don't care, what are you doing here?" Neriah asked boldly. She knew she's throwing herself into danger. Damien is a dangerous demon, she knew she's match for him. She'd always feared him but today was an exception. Maybe it's because it's a matter of life and death. She needed to overcome her fear and face it. She won't give him the joy he wants. No, she won't back off even if he'll kill her, she won't.

Damien cracked then frowned.

"Why do you think I'm here? To take her of course" he replied and Neriah scoffed. There's no way she's letting him do that even if it means loosing her life. She'll gladly give her life to save Niamh's. She's ready to face him.

"Let's see about that" she smirked.

"Don't prove stubborn, little princess" Damien warned in a friendly tone, his cold red eyes that seemed to have no life in them glimmered with a dangerous light as if he's trying to scare her but Neriah wasn't moved by his so-called dangerous attitude. He's a demon, she knew. She's a water goddess, he should know!

"Do you think I'll back off? I'm not just afraid of you!" Neriah stated, her voice was loud and decisive.

The restrained murderous rage in Damien's voice seemed to have been broken through the chains, ready to destroy whoever is on his way. He'll finish her now, afterall he warned her but she willingly threw herself into hell.

"Draco" he called. The dragon breathed in, gathered up energy, heated up its system and breathed out fire.

"Ocean's embrace, envelope me in your love"

Neriah shut her eyes and spread her arms, chanting. Just like that, the Breathing Sea rose high and created a shield around her, protecting her from the fire.

When the dragon was done breathing out fire to it's content, Neriah gestured her hands. Her ocean blue eyes were pinned on Damien's deep crimson ones as she chanted...

"Fluid force, unleash your might, destroy my foes"

The ocean responded as a colossal wave crashed down upon the dragon, engulfing it in a torrent of water. Draco roared in fury as Neriah summoned a maelstrom, whipping the water into a frenzy that sent the dragon tumbling through the air.

Damien, enraged, charged at Neriah with a blazing sword but Neriah summoned a wall of water to block his attack. A force sent him flying back.

As the demon prince maintained his stamina, he snarled, summoning dark energies that Neriah countered with a wave of water infused with a light of the ocean. The two forces clashed, and in the explosion of light and water, Damien and his dragon were consumed, banished back to the depths of the Earth.

Neriah stood victorious, smiling at her hardwork. She really overpowered Damien. She turned to the Breathing Sea

"Ocean's embrace, full of grace, mother of life, I thank you" she smiled and the sea responded with a beautiful luminous blue glow.

All of a sudden, Neriah started feeling dizzy and darkness took over. A hand caught her before she fell down
