Getting to the crime scene, Anna sat at the seat for a long time. Outside police cars were scattered around and a yellow police tape was drawn over the crime scene.
She got out of the car, and went ahead to the scene. Ansel decided to stay in and watch her from the window.
He watched as she walked up to the police in charge, with her pulling out her ID and showing them. They raised up the yellow tape and let her pass.
It seemed like she was asking questions about what happened their and was writing everything down in her notepad. After a while she walked up to him in the car, gently knocking on the window, he rolled the car window down.
"Ansel, I am so sorry. But it seems that I would be here for a while." She said with a solemn expression on her face.
"How long?" Ansel asked.
She checked the time on her phone, it was almost one o'clock.
"I genuinely don't know how long. But we can always meet later on in the morning."
"How we go out for a cup of coffee later on in the morning. There is a new café that I just opened that I want to try out."
Anna nodded her head. "Yes, let's go grab a cup of coffee later. And once again I am so sorry."
Ansel waved it off. "There is no worries."
With that, Anna backed away from the car, as he started the ignition and drove down the road.
Anna watched the car until it disappeared into a corner.

Maria never knew that there is a chance of her drinking coffee, alas here she was in the coffee maker area with cup of bitter coffee in her hand.
She hadn't taken even something as little as a sip yet, just the smell alone repulsed her so much that it made her stomach turn.
She watched the steam from the coffee go up and disappear from the sky, trying to hype herself up to drink this diabolical drink.
After a while she took that leap of faith and took a sip of the drink, it was as if her taste buds recoiled back due to the bitterness.
She let out a sigh, and continued drinking it. Many of her coworkers drink this to at least keep them awake and to at least have energy for the rest of the day.
As she was drinking her coffee, someone came to also take a cup of coffee.
"Well this is surprising. I thought you hated coffee." Giovanni said pouring himself coffee from the jug that was half full.
"Well I guess I need it." Maria said dropping her cup on the counter. She folded her hands and stared at the ground.
"I heard what happened. I am so sorry for your lost," Giovanni said emphatically.
"Why are you apologizing?"
"Well, I know how much you loved Jeffery. And how you held him in high regard, so when I heard the news I could only imagine what you could have felt."
"Gio, what has happened, has happened. And there is nothing me or anyone else can do about it." She said trying to remain nonchalant about the whole thing.
"Well, if you say so. Hey have you by any chance seen Anna?"
Maria shook her head no. Now that she think about it, it's been a long while since she last saw Anna, which was quite a lot due to the both of them being very close to each other.
"Hmm, if you see her, tell her that I am around?"
She looked at Giovanni, he was quite an average looking guy, but in terms of intelligence and investigate abilities, he was more than that. Heck he is considered the top investigator in the entire police department with Maria coming in second.
With that he took his cup of coffee and left, leaving Maria to herself. She threw away the coffee in her cup, regretting her decision of ever giving this drink a chance.
She should have gone for milk instead.
She felt her phone vibrate in the pocket of her trousers. She pulled it out and saw that it was a message from Jeffery's younger sister.
The message wrote: 'There's something that I want to tell you. Meet me at eatery down your work place.'
Maria texted: 'i'm at work right now.'
Jeffery sister texted almost immediately: 'How about we meet after your work?'
It took a while before Maria replied. She had a feeling that there is a slight chance of her closing from work late.
'There's a chance of me closing from work very late today.' She hit send.
Another message from Jeffery's sister: 'No problem, I would wait.'

Maria got out of work later on that, she even closed earlier than anticipated.
She entered inside her car and towards the direction of eatery that Jefferey's sister was at.
She parked next to a parking meter and threw in a cent. Which would probably give her 30 minutes. She just need to observe the time and make sure she doesn't get a parking ticket.
It would be very embarrassing for a officer of the law to get a parking ticket.
She entered inside the eatery, and observed to see where Jeffery sister. Funny how she doesn't even know her name.
Jefferey's sister waved at her, she was putting on a polkadot sweatshirt, but Maria couldn't see what she was wearing underneath, she also had a cup of warm liquid in her hands. She was also seated by the window side.
Maria approached her, greeting her as she sat in the opposite side of where she was.
"I am so sorry for disturbing you like this. It's just that I need to get this off my chest, before I begin would you like anything to drink?"
Maria shook her head, and Jefferey's sister nodded her head.
"Ok before I start let me introduce myself, my name is Wendy, in case you don't know my name. And I want you to know that my mother never like you."
Maria was surprised with the way she said it so suddenly.
"Um..." Before Maria could talk, she raised up her hand to silence her.
"I know, maybe I lay it on you a little too thick. How about me saying that my mother, was never really a fan of you. Like at all."
