Sebastian had gone off to his gallery after his drink with Benjamin. He was enjoying his personal time when a knock came to his door. He knew it was Benjamin because no servant dared to interrupt or disturb him while he was in the gallery. He reluctantly stood up from the chair he was sitting on and placed the paintbrush which was in his hand on a table and walked towards the door. Opening the door, he saw Benjamin's uneasy expression. "What is the problem?" Sebastian asked raising an eye brow. "Uhm...your majesty, there's a human girl who seeks your attention" Benjamin said and Sebastian twisted his brows. A human girl seeked his attention? Meaning?. Sebastian came out of the gallery room and he and Benjamin began to walk away from the gallery room side by side. "There's a human girl wishing to see you. As we speak she's seated on the ground outside the castle calling out that you help her and take her in as a servant" Benjamin said, shedding more light to what he said earlier. Sebastian's expression darkened after hearing Benjamin's report. This was a first, a human offering herself as a servant to the king. Every human servant in the castle was brought in by members of the royal court or the Lord's. Sebastian was a king that was not easily pleased, so every servant that worked in the castle had to work very hard to impress him or gain his favor which none had yet. The castle's workforce included both humans and night creatures but the human servants did twice as much to impress him. It took Sebastian by surprise to hear that a human girl was offering herself even after the news of night creatures living in the palace had spread in the whole of Denver.
"Let her in" Sebastian said to Benjamin and the man bowed slightly as he went to give orders to let the girl inside the palace.
The sun was setting, signifying that it was almost night time when Sebastian gracefully walked on the palace grounds. He had given word out concerning the human girl and he was patiently waiting for the guards to bring her to him. He placed his hands at his back and his eyes settled on the sky as he waited. He smelt the blood of a human and turned around to see his guards and the human. His eyes scanned the human before him, she had bruises and she looked haggard. "Milord" the guards said to Sebastian. "This is the human" one of the guards who was a creature of the night said. "Let her be" Sebastian said after noticing that his guards were holding her up, as if she couldn't stand on her own. "Milord, she's weak and badly injured. I doubt she can stand on her own" the other guard who was a human said. Sebastian glanced at them in silence and the guards knew better than to disobey and they let go of her. As expected, the girl fell on the floor. Her legs were too weak and she was badly injured. A scowl appeared on Sebastian's face and he turned his back at them "She's lowly and weak. She can't work here" came Sebastian's unbothered reply. "Milord, I can work. I really can" the girl said with her hands clasped together in a form of a plea. "I'd do anything"she tried convincing Sebastian but the king stayed quiet as he was deep in thought. He turned around to look at them and asked "Don't know you're not supposed to speak until you are asked to? But I'll let that pass since you're a peasant and I'd take it that you were not thought manners. So you'd do anything?". "I'm sorry milord but yes, I'll do anything milord" the girl answered and a wicked thought crossed Sebastian's mind. "Fine. Take her in" Sebastian ordered the guards and they took her inside the castle and to the female head servant to clean her up and nurse her bruises.
