Sebastian had a smile that he couldn't suppress even though he tried to. Seeing this human before him suddenly made his mood change to a pleasant one. "You don't mind if I hold you right?" Sebastian asked as he scanned the girl's face and saw how her expression changed to a nervous one. "Milord.." she was about to speak but was interrupted by Sebastian "I just want your permission to hold your hand so you won't trip milady". "Ohh" Mirabelle said in a low tone. Seeing she had gotten his point clearly now, Sebastian took her hand and placed it in his. "So, your father told me you have something to tell me". Mirabelle tried to ignore her racing heart and form proper sentences. "Y- Yes, milord". She couldn't believe that the king would humble himself and actually help her, a blind girl, to walk. It was something he could have easily let Marcus or her father do but he decided to do it himself and it touched her heart to know that he wasn't as bad as the rumors said.
She felt a very weird vibe from him the first time they met and she could still feel that way now but his kind action was truly touching. "Okay. You can tell me, feel free" Sebastian said, still maintaining the smile on his lips. He noticed how rigid and stiff she seemed and wanted her to be herself because she had gained his interest. He wanted to know if this creature was really as innocent as it seemed the first time he saw her. When people are comfortable, they express themselves showing who they really are and that's what he wanted her to do. "Okay milord" Mirabelle said. She had thought her father will be present while she narrated to the king but things didn't go the way she thought. The king took her by surprise.
Sebastian and Mirabelle approached a wooden bench and Sebastian made Mirabelle to sit on it before he joined her. "May I speak milord?" Mirabelle asked. She knew that with everyone in the palace, she had to thread carefully especially with the king. Though she didn't want to believe some rumors she had heard about him, it was better to hold on to some to be on the safe side. Sebastian chuckled lightly and answered "Miss Nolan, I have given you permission to speak freely, so don't hesitate". Mirabelle turned her head to the direction of his voice and sighed before telling him about her dream. Sebastian's expression throughout her narration moved from amazement to curiosity and when she was done, he said to Mirabelle "Thank you for informing me Miss Nolan. Precautions would be taken". With that, he helped her up and took her back to her father who was waiting at a distance. "She'd wait while you work right?" Sebastian asked Mr Nolan. "Yes your majesty" the man answered and Mirabelle wondered why he'd care if she'd wait for her father to finish working. "I'd like to have a word with you after you're done. The guards will help you both to the throne room" Sebastian said before walking away from their presence.
Mr Nolan hurriedly tended to the king's garden as he wanted to hear what the king had to say to him and Mirabelle. After he was done, like Sebastian said, guards helped them get to the throne room where Sebastian was already seated waiting on them. Marcus was made to wait outside the throne room as the others conversed. Mr Nolan greeted Sebastian again and Mirabelle did the same after hearing her father do so. Sebastian told them to take a seat as he wanted to have a serious conversation with them.
"I have thought about what your daughter told me and I have come to a conclusion" Sebastian said and a maid walked up to him with a tray of red and green grapes. With shaky hands, she raised the tray towards the king waiting for him to take from it. "What is your conclusion your majesty? For it is a serious matter" Mr Nolan said as he watched Sebastian take a red grape, throwing it inside his mouth.
"I want your daughter to stay in the palace for some days" Sebastian said and the maid who was holding up the tray immediately lost her grip on the tray and it fell to the ground, giving off a loud annoying sound. For some seconds,Mr Nolan thought he misheard. He turned to Mirabelle who he was sure heard the same thing because of the confused look on her face.
"Your majesty, I do apologise but I don't quite grasp what you mean." Mr Nolan's hands suddenly started shaking as he feared his response might anger the king.
Sebastian glared at the maid who was already on her knees, she pleaded with the king to forgive her but Sebastian didn't want to dwell on lesser matters. There were other things that required his attention, the blind human girl.
