Roses bloom in the bright light,
Isn't that right?
Where the sun is clean and has a golden glow,
That's where love is you know.
Not here in this broken world.
Here the soil is harsh and a barren waste,
The waters gone and drinkable urine becomes an acquired taste.
Here the fly gives her babies mansions and an occasional villa,
From the dropped carcasses and corpses paler than vanilla.
People hide behind closed doors, run looking for rats to eat and a prune would be a treat.
Here you can't see another person shed a tear, for anyone who isn't dear.
There, where the graves lie, you can't come try, lest the bodies come up and you die.
There is an arm on your bed, there's blood on your face and your home is a dead man's place.
The air holds the occasional scream, but you don't wake up, you can only dream.
Of the bodies you see, the people you meet and the taste of their meat.
Here boys become men, men are no more than boys.
Fate, Death and people treat each other like toys.
But my lover doesn't treat me wrong.
At night he sings a song.
When I'm tired, he carries me on his back.
We walk for miles on the dry horizon track.
Because my lover's hungry for people nice and fresh.
I forgot to mention, he eats human flesh.
We are together always, loving always and I'd rather die, than leave my Ride or die.
But soon I'll take a break, just for a while, near twilight.
Because I got my lover's love and he gave me a bite.
This is our final night, we won't see morning light.
Pretty good love story, am I right?
...
People don't care when there is no law anywhere.
You see something, take it then and there.
That's how my boyfriend took me, I swear.
I was on the road on my own, no direction in mind, definitely not home.
Sleeping in forgotten places, seeing dead unblinking faces.
Then a car comes by, a white truck with a dull color.
There was him, looking bored and sour, he gave me a lift that went hour after hour.
Sure I tried to run, tried to go but he was having fun.
And we both had no one.
After a kiss, a night in the sheets or four more.
I saw a bite on his throat that looked sore,
Should I go? Or stay and make love some more?
I walked out the door,
Came back with a bandage and told him dead in the eye.
"I'll be there on the day you die, but I won't cry."
He smiled and said; guess I got your heart.
I smirked;" yeah you bastard, till death do us part."
Now there is a gun in the truck, and there's three bullets.
Two for us, one for luck and I guess we'll see,
If we die happy, or if it all ends when the truck dies.
Who do you think will be first?
Us or this heap of junk?
...
Smiling is an easy thing to do.
I fake it but how about you?
Would you smile when you're covered in blood?
When dead, dead and more dead cause a corpse flood?
But I'm not scared, I'm with my brother.
Big brother, big brother, you're my favourite lover.
You do what I want, when I want and how I want.
You love me, I love you and in this world it's just us two.
Our island is small, the cottage is not tall but we're fine.
No one can come, so you're mine and all mine.
But then you go, I'm left alone and I don't know what to do.
There's no food, I'm in a bad mood and I don't feel good.
But I'll find you, hold you and love you.
With your now dead eyes, your pale face and open mouth.
Oh brother, I missed you, did you miss me?
You smile and hold me close, then give me a kiss with you're teeth.
I'm left bloody and you can see my underneath.
When I feel like I'm falling asleep, you still hold me close and don't let go.
My brother loves me, only me, you know?
And he'll never let me go.
