A smile had crept itself onto my face as I walked up towards the middle of a room. The floor was lit up by a light underneath it that illuminated the one thing that would prove Vital for me. A new armor.
"I knew you'd like it. Crafted by melting black Iron along with titanium and into a perfect shape to fit your physical body's capabilities. Immune to high and negative temperatures, bullets up to 5.56 caliber sniper bullets and blades. Armed with claws at the hands section for hand-to-hand combat and even two blades located at the hip section along with magazine and pistol holsters followed by a rifle holster on your back. After that, everything here is yours."
Down to the last detail, this armor was made not only to combat waves of enemies but even those who possessed Eliras. I walked slowly towards Vesper and kneeled with such speed in front of her with my head bowed down as well.
"What are you going to do? Confess. Spare it, I do not wish to go that way with you."
Those words would not affect me. No, in fact I was glad she did not possess such feelings. I hadn't come in front of her to confess meaningless things such as love but instead I kneeled.
"I promise to you that I will make it so all of the Order's heads roll on your floor for giving me what I need without even a hint of resentment nor hatred. I am grateful to you, Fox."
My eyes could not see her facial expression but the sounds of her walking away were becoming distant, with the last thing I heard being.
"Do as you promise and then … I might consider giving you a chance. Damned Wolf."
I got up from the ground and turned towards what would soon be the object that would protect me. The sole thing that would make my revenge possible.
The armory that was put in my disposition had everything an assassin could ask for. Blades, Pistol and even ARs. The tools for my operation had all been laid in front of me.
First, the blade section. Filled with knives of all kinds from karambits down to butterflies as well as a few katanas from Japan, perhaps an addition by Vesper's own will, though. My decision was set. My hands picked up two tactical karambits
The gun section, I decided to go with an old classic. TTI JW4 Pit Viper. A classic weapon that was brought to life by a master gunsmith in Poland. I partnered it up with another of its kind because two bullets are better than one.
Not much could be said about grenades as the instances of me using explosives were less than few, though. The Smoke bombs would have proven vital more than once in my lifetime.
My armor stood out with its matte black color and metallic build from the neck down. My gloves resemble the claws of a Lion and my main body frame is covered in hardened steel, with a cape hanging over my right shoulder down to my Elbow.
.I began to clench my right fist, feeling the grip of the suit as a smile began to form to then hear Vesper giggling at herself.
"I knew you'd make most of what I had laid out for you but the karambits are new and the fact you picked no assault rifles well it saddens me slightly."
"This armor fits great, how did you craft this?"
"I didn't. I had to hire 3 Master Blacksmiths to create that, you have better chances of getting hit by thunder than to die in that."
I strode towards her with a calm expression, sitting down on the opposite chair and leaned forward. Speaking with a soft tone.
"Give me a target."
"I suppose a wolf doesn't forget its tradition. Alright then, since you want to do this the old fashioned way."
Vesper stood up and strolled towards a wall covered by a red curtain. She grasped it, turned towards me, and gave a wink, flinging the curtain to the side to reveal a big table with a hit list unfurled on it. Each member of the Order, down to the smallest fry was positioned into a board in specific hierarchy.
"You'd better start big. Send them a message."
"A message is not a solution, I'll send them a threat. That I am coming for them. I'll start by cutting down their smallest links and as their supplies are dwindling, I'll move on to the bigger fish."
"You are aiming to cut them out slowly but how do you know they won't recover just as fast?"
"They won't. The governments have noticed a significant rise in criminality, especially from Elira users to the point they are developing task-forces to combat them. They will not have time to replenish as they will be too focused on trying to keep their activities concealed."
There were a large number of people—amongst which were criminals—who developed Eliras in the two years they've been present. However, that didn't mean the government sat in terror watching everyone rebelling like idiots. No, they fought back. And the result was the taking of too many lives, leaving few locations of inhabitants known as zones.
"You are in luck then, my friend. We have just the guy you can start your vendetta with. Micheal Chapo, The Master Gambler."
"Let's see if Lady luck will smile on his face then."
"Take the back door from here and it will take you outside the peacock without being seen."
Before I left, I turned to Vesper's whistle to be struck by something in the forehead. Before it fell, I managed to catch it with my right hand and it was revealed to be a mask, a japanese oni mask at that.
"On the House."
"I want you to look a bit stylish and demonic, that armor is beautiful but it felt like it was lacking."
With a smile she waved at me using her handfan, wearing the mask as I began to leave The Glamorous Peacock, heading towards "Miss Fortune '' the biggest casino in las vegas.
