Chereads / Assassin's Dark Revenge / Chapter 8 - By Blood alone

Chapter 8 - By Blood alone

The two of us had locked gazes. I held my arms in a cross-like shape with my left on top of my right, feet steadily on the ground as I gripped my karambits. The woman was wary of me, I could see her hands shaking slightly. This is getting annoying… I felt as if I would die from mere anticipation!

I smiled and charged directly at her, swinging my karambits to which she dodged by side stepping to the left, looking at me with her hands raised up.

"Ho?"

"Fast…"

I could tell that she escaped by a mere strand of hair but what came next was unexpected. Her hands got clapped together into a gun-like stance and her exposed blood that ran from her wounds was being gathered onto her hands.

I looked at her with confusion but before knowing, a stream of blood, straight as an arrow came from her. I managed to block it with my arms, I heard cracks being formed as I finally flung my arms to the air with the stream dispersing.

The armor had taken significant damage and she began to chuckle at me.

"Blood Manipulation."

"Figured. You'll be covered in it soon."

This was disadvantageous for me, the desert is drier than a skeleton left to rot in it. Why is that important? If I were anywhere near a damn stream of water or hell even a building with a fire security system. I could wash out the blood off her body and render her ability useless.

My Elira is extremely draining and I cannot use it head on without thinking. Although, I was feeling kinda excited. This slut could actually keep up!

"Alright then, I'll get a bit serious."

"What can you do without an Elir-?"

Before she had finished that sentence, I blitzed through to her aiming to stab her left side where the blood hadn't reached. My speed made me look as if I had teleported and as I stabbed her, I felt something. The blade had slightly pierced the skin yet something hardened had stopped the blade from going in further.

Without wasting much time, I drew my right back into me and lunged it towards her stomach. Punching her away to the ground but sadly as I did, one of my karambits had been shattered by her armor. I could see her coughing up blood and struggling to breathe.

"Y-You really hit a w-woman…!?"

"I am a herald of equality between men and women. And as an assassin, I really don't care if you possess a vagina or penis."

These questions were insignificant as if they were trying to initiate small talk to save their skin. I could see straight through her, the blood she was coughing would come to assist her but as I got ready to shoot her, I felt something sharp piercing pain through my shoulder and arms.

My vision became blurry as I turned around to be met with a sight of what resembled crimson red spears. I could feel the pain yet I was oddly tranquil about my situation.

I switched my gaze towards the woman as she had gotten up and walked towards me standing face to face as a smile had formed on her face.

"Too bad, you didn't look half bad."

"Spare me the unwanted compliments, Hure. {Whore}"

That smile turned into a frown as she pointed her right pointing finger directly at my face, I saw her blood move and converge into a small circle. If my senses did not deceive me, that would pierce my skull easily.

"I'm getting … Tired of you!"

I said with a malicious tone as the same dark purple flame that I had previously conjured to burn those bodies came up again, creating a circle of flames around me and startling the woman away. The crimson spears began to melt and evaporate as the area around my wounds would begin to rejuvenate. The kindles of the dark flame, they were dancing in delight!

A sinister smile took over my face as I walked out of the purplish circle with my wounds releasing steam from them as the flesh healed. I looked at the woman who was standing in front of me with 3 blood circles spinning above her. She was sweating. The heat of the flames was increasing and I could feel her breathing becoming hardened and more intense.

"The Desert sure doesn't spare anyone."

"T-The hell are you talking about you demon!?"

"My offer of you walking away has run out. I've done this ordeal for way too long, to the point my life has been spent holding a blade."

I looked at her with a cold gaze, as I grabbed my last Karambit and looked at her as the karambit got covered in the same flames I was emitting. Death was coming.

Her eyes were filled with worry and as she tried to gulp down her fear, I charged again. Mercilessly. The circles that were surrounding her shot the same streams of blood as the one that had previously cracked and pierced through my armor. But, my karambit who had been imbued with the flames of my Elira cut through them with ease.I was even shocked at seeing how streams of blood were evaporating by just coming into contact with its blade and how it didn't melt itself.

As I approached, I saw her blood armor form into the right side and instead of going for the left. I was going to carve through it. JUST LIKE I PROMISED!

My blade dug deep into the armor and into the right side of her stomach. I could feel her grunt in pain as I began to carve her open with a swift swing, the smell of burnt flesh was filling the air. I sweep kicked her to make her fall as I saw her intestines begin to fall out.

As I jumped back into my normal stance, I saw her lifeless eyes as her stomach was steaming from a cloud of burning flesh. Her intestines fell to the ground as if they were wasted Spaghetti. Yet I felt nothing, no… I actually felt good. I condoned killing in the past but now. It feels great, no extravagant dare I say!

As the moonlight shined a bit brighter, I could see what she actually looked like. A woman no more than 26-27 years old with hazelnut colored hair and a lightly tanned skin.

I let out a mad giggle as I made my way towards the car and as I looked through the open door. I saw Micheal standing there smoking a cigarate.

"Oddly comfortable for a dead man."

"Leave me the fuck alone ye damn demon. Killed a woman in such a gruesome way, you'd make the devil sick."

"That's the whole Point Mich."

I grabbed him by the collar and threw him out of the car. His previous white suit slightly stained by the wound on his head, I began to think of ways I could kill him. And as I pondered, his chuckles I could hear.

"What now eh, Amico? You'll kill me, hunt everybody else down and then what? You'll never find peace and once you die and come to hell to join us, I assure you. We'll take our turn into this revenge game."

"Oh shut the hell up, damned Italian."

I kicked him across the chin as he rolled over as I pulled out one of my vipers and pointed it at him. I reloaded the weapon and asked him with a calm tone.

"Any last words?"

"Possa l'inferno essere creato da te… {May hell be of your own making…}"

I slightly smiled at that as I unloaded the entire magazine onto his head and torso, especially at the heart. I can never forget the heart. As I heard the gun run dry of bullets, I grabbed Micheal by the neck and ripped it off with my own bare hands.

A trophy and one that would help send the Order a message. That The wolf is still hunting and the prey has been decided.

Suddenly my skin began to crawl at the thought of how pissed Vesper would be at the damage that the armor received. I can confront demons themselves and fight the supernatural powers. But seeing that woman pissed is like seeing a beast!
