"I am going to kidnap you for the rest of the night, and before you protest, it's your birthday surprise." These words were whispered in my ear before I could process the words; my eyes were closed with a piece of cloth. "We are riding in our car after that in my chopper. In both rides, I am going to guide you." By saying that, he started guiding me, and the car door was opened. I took the seat, which must be a passenger, and he buckled my seatbelt. After a few seconds, the car started moving.
Both rides took two to three hours and the whole way I slept soundly. He opened my blindfold and shook me a little. I opened my eyes, they were blurry, so I rubbed a little. When my eyesight was clear, I was in shock.
I unbuckled the seat belt in haste and was out in no time. When I witnessed everything, I was in wow. My mouth was slightly ajar, and I was unable to process what I was seeing.
Where the hell has he taken me?
The whole thing looks so dreamy, not to forget the weather, which was supportive of everything.
We were on the edge of a cliff, where I was standing. I felt the sky so near me. It was a full moon, and the view was so mesmerizing not to forget the desert area.
I was stunned for a few minutes.
Neither of us spoke. Thanks for that. I am really out of words. I started glancing at the surroundings where I stood, which were decorated with lighting. The dining table in the center of the cliff near the edge with food and beverages caught my attention, and also a king-size bed in the center, a little bit far from the cliff, surrounded by white curtains. How the hell did he come up with this amazing idea?
Once again, my eyes were on the bed arrangement. Is he thinking that I was going to have sex with him because of all this? By facing Asher, I raised a questioning eyebrow, and in return, he chuckled. "No, no, I didn't arrange for that purpose. I wanted to spend this night with you over here, so yes, the bed is only for sleeping, nothing else." In return, I nodded my head. I broke eye contact as it was making me feel so many things, and my gaze was on a deserted area.
Nothing can be expected in such a place except silence, followed by birds chirping, which are returning to their nest, followed by howling. The sky was pitch black with lots of stars. Once again, I sighed when I saw so many stars. I wanted to run as far as possible and keep my distance, and yet here I am with the same star who started making my heart flutter just like old days. These things can be done only by him; I don't know how, but he always surprises me, which pushes me into utter shock.
I felt Asher's presence behind me, and he was too close, as I felt his breath in my neck area. I shivered lightly. "Happy birthday, Ralph." By saying that he kissed my hair. It was exactly 12 am, and like in the past, he made sure he was the first person to wish me. "Thank you." That came in a crook voice. I think I am losing it. "We should start having dinner; it's already late, common." By saying that, he pulled me toward the table.
This should be something that's default, right? I mean, my birthday and my favorite items would be on the table, but I was still taken back for a moment when I approached the table. I took almost a minute to glance at every item, and unknowingly, my mouth started watering. I knew his memory was sharp like a bloody shark, but still, I was in shock. We occupied the chair, and Asher started serving the dishes.
In silence, we started having dinner. Every dish was amazing, with no fault in any items, and they were cooked according to my taste totally. I didn't expect to step into 23rd with him this way. At last, like always, he made this one memorable too. Everything always seems perfect with him, and again, one should remember everyone is not perfect considering my past with him. Something will always be in a loop with him, and that would ruin everything between us. Spending every minute will always be overwhelming with him, as he will make sure of it, but at the same time he will make sure to do something stupid, and that's it. That would be the end of everything.
I am terrified of everything. I want to shut so badly from everyone and mind my fucking business, but I can't as someone is always peeping in my direction trying to take my business in their hands. It's childish to complain this way in adult life, and I can't do anything other than that.
Asher was my first crush, my first boyfriend, and on-and-off relationship with him. Once again, trying out something with him is totally stupid, but yet again I am getting drawn toward him. This is stupid. Every nerve in my body is screaming the same in unison. I couldn't help but feel delighted from the evening after seeing the arrangements.
The wind blowing is soothing everything, and the only sound would be heard from utensils. My mind, which is running non-stop, is not soothing and also not making any sound. I was so engrossed in my thoughts I forgot how much I had until I felt like my stomach would burst open any time. I pushed the plate a little bit and leaned over the chair.
"Common, let's sleep; it's pretty late, and your mom expects our presence as early as possible." I was half asleep. Damn, this weather is so good. "Is it a good idea to sleep over in the middle of nowhere?" "Don't worry, I won't let anything happen to you; everything is planned perfectly." I grimaced in response. I hope he fucking take care of my heart more than anything else.
Asher handed over the nightwear; indeed, he had planned everything. I don't want to move an inch now. I want to sleep. Just sleep for the night. After changing, we lay beside each other on the bed in the open sky. As much as I wanted to enjoy the view, my eyes were giving up, and I slept off.
The next day I was woken up by the sunrise, which was not bright enough to disturb my sleep but enough to make sure I was awake to enjoy the view. The morning wind was a little bit cold. By covering the blanket, I turned my head toward the sun, which was flaunting bright orange. Despite the blanket, I was shivering when a hand wrapped around my waist and his chin was on mine viewing the same.
I missed this, only us.
The wrap around my waist was tight, and our breathing was coming in unison. I expected some movement from him beyond this, but he didn't, as if we were finding our serenity in this. We stayed that way till the sun shone brightly. Asher kissed my forehead. "We should head back. I don't want to make your parents and friends angry. You know the way things are going. I want to be on their good side." "Nothing is going to prove if you are on their good side; you better know this." "I know I want their support and trust; winning over you is hard." "Why? I mean clearly, I am not enough for you." "Ralph, I am sorry. I regret losing you because of my stupidity. Please give me one last chance. I am begging you." "You always do that; you know that, right?" "Trust me, I have learned my lesson." "You always sprout this too." He sighed. Of course, he does. "I am sorry, and I will try every means to win you back. Mark my words. I am not going to give up, Ralph." This time it was my turn to sigh.
When we returned home, my parents had arranged a small party, and my friends and a few others were included. Everything was lit up as we entered the mansion, and I was greeted by hugs and wishes.
The next day, I entered the company with a bright, goofy smile on my face.
Asher is trapping me successfully. He is making sure of his presence around me, making everything unbearable at the business party and the pub. At the business parties, his presence had turned into routine. I am one hundred percent sure that he has nothing to do with these parties other than sticking by my side throughout the night. His presence would gain so much attention toward me that, as a reward, the pictures were floating everywhere. 'I can't control everything, and it's not my fault' was his reply. Like seriously.
My friends started inviting Asher whenever we were hanging out, and at the end of the day, it turned into exhaustion. His teasing would always test my sanity.
He started locking me but made no move. He was making sure only two of us ended up someplace where there would be no one, trying to close the distance between us and meanwhile sniffing my scent, doing everything to push toward the edge.
Controlling myself around him is turning into the biggest task. We are already in the gossip column, and he is doing nothing to clear the same.
Oh boy, I am lost cause.
