I held Sage's hand and walked around the marketplace looking for her brother. Seriously, who would lose a kid like this? What kind of irresponsible person did that?
"Sage," a familiar voice called. No way! "Sage," the person called again. Sage turned and the moment she saw who it was, her face lit up.
"Big brother," she shouted, running to go meet him. A carriage was coming and was about to hit her when she suddenly teleported back to my side. This genius type is the best. Her brother rushed over and hugged her like his life depended on the hug, the pain slowly returned to my chest just at the sight.
"Thanks," I muttered to Ryle but he didn't respond.
"I must thank you two," Sage's brother said standing up.
"Oh, it's you," I said.
"Lady Rose, what brings you out here?" he asked. I know, right?
"I was kidnapped," I said jokingly, but I was serious. Avery looked at Ryle and frowned, then he turned to look at me, and back to Ryle.
"Thank you," he forced out. Am I the only one feeling the tension here? Have the hot guys war started? Why do I think they are hostile towards each other? If so, I need to hurry and get fat. "Back to the kidnapping topic," he said, looking at me.
"I'm joking." I'm not. SOS. Help me.
"What are you doing with him?" okay, that's hostile, alright.
"He said I should follow him somewhere because he was bored." out of my will. I feel like I'm tattling to a teacher about a bully, it feels good. Avery is the most responsible of all the male leads, that's why he will always be my favorite.
"Don't the master of the magic tower have better things to do than to bother a lady?" Avery asked. Isn't that line supposed to come after the harvest festival? A cold winter day, Ryle and Lily were on a date and ran into Avery and this line happened. That scene was supposed to be the scene where Lily found out who Ryle was which was stupid. Lily studies magic for a living, and she's the prodigy of the Percando family. She was given the best education which provided her with access to the magic tower, learning under the best of the best even if it wasn't the master. Lily travelled to the capital a lot when she was young even though she didn't live here so that she'd be able to access everything she needed to be the best. And this so-called person doesn't know who lives in the building she frequented as a child, yes you never met him, but you must have heard of him. It just doesn't make sense.
To put a tiny cherry on top, how was she going out with someone for so long and never asked who he was? Does she just go out with anyone? Come on writer, originality, please?
"That is none of your business?" Ryle said and the next minute we were elsewhere, I want to go home. This genius type. But why do I feel like Ryle and Avery know each other?
"What the hell?" I shouted. Okay, Rose, come back. We don't shout at this guy, okay?
"Can you stop doing that?" I asked in a low, respectful tone.
"No," he replied flatly. This genius type really vexes me.
"Where are we?" I asked, taking a mental note to find an escape in case if something happens.
"Oh, my pet is here," he said walking into the dark entrance of a cave and I followed him. Into the cave. Did he say pet, is it a puppy? Who keeps puppies in this kind of place? Or is it a cat? I'm not a cat person, so I'm not too sure how… A loud growl pulled me out of my thoughts, I jumped in fear and looked up as the cave brightened up. Ryle really is my killer, not once but twice will I die by the hands of this stupid mage. I should kneel and start begging for my life, or apologizing for causing his sweetheart pain in my past life.
A gigantic dragon was staring down at me. I didn't know what to do. Run? Scream? None of those options felt wise, and worse of all I don't think I had any energy left to do any of those options.
"Are you scared?" Ryle asked from the head of the dragon. No, I'm just in awe, I'm actually shaking with excitement, stupid. Oh, the things I think but can't say. I took a step back but lost my footing, before I could hit the ground I floated meeting the eyes of the dragon. Is this those cases where you torture your prey before killing them? I said I'm sorry for hurting Lily in the past, it's not like I could do anything that would kill her.
"Oh, Poppy, where are you?" I said, closing my eyes. I felt my feet hit a hard surface and a hand wrap around my waist.
"What just…"
"What are you doing, mage?" Poppy's voice sounded like music in my ears. I'm not even concerned about what Ryle was about to say. I opened my eyes but was met with the blue-haired demon's face instead. I was startled and tried to push him away but changed my mind when I saw the distance between the floor and I. "silver, what are you doing here?" Poppy asked, and I turned to see him flying in human form but with dragon wings. You know what, nothing can surprise me anymore.
"Poppy, I never thought I'd miss you this much," I said reaching for him while holding on to Ryle with one hand.
"I wanted to show off my dragon," Ryle finally spoke. Yeah, great idea.
"Why?" I had to ask.
"So you can see a big dragon," he smiled, but I definitely wasn't smiling. Hold me somebody because I'm about to beat this annoying mage until he transitions.
"Poppy, is there any chance you can get me down from here?" I asked, but the dragon moved, and I held on to Ryle. I was five seconds away from jumping on him in fear, but as a lady… I can't even give an excuse, I'm just terrified. Can this mage please stop messing with me?
