I have been confused since my… I don't know what to call it, "rebirth?" I have been very unstable, and I kept going back and forth on decisions that it annoyed the hell out of me, but can I be blamed, it's not everyday you die and wake up in another body? But I have decided to stop feeling emotional about my situation, I am just a girl that can't go back to the world she knows because I'm probably dead there. I might die here if I make one wrong move and my best option is to leave, for that to happen I need a good plan; I don't think this world treats runaways kindly. If I want to leave unscathed I need to avoid all m death flags but well… I don't know how best to put it. One of them is relaxing in front of me like he didn't just kidnap me after giving the shock of two lifetimes.
About an hour ago, I was in my humble abode lazying around, I mean resting, when I heard a knock on the window. I thought it was a messenger bird, but I could not have been any more wrong. When I opened it there was nothing there, but when I turned I was met with a blue-haired demon. I almost died of shock, but he acted nonchalantly like he didn't just kidnap me, it took me a long time to recover.
"I really wanted to try this place out," he said, and I raised an eyebrow and looked at him.
"You should have gone alone rather than show up uninvited and force someone out of the comfort of their room to follow you," I half-yelled. I would have been angry if this place didn't sell good stuffs. He looked at me with a serious expression that made me shift in my seat.
"That's no fun." The hell?
"All I'm saying is that it's not nice, it makes people uncomfortable," I said calmly trying hard to reason with him, but it was pointless.
"Do I make you uncomfortable?" Yes, yes, a million times yes.
"N… no, I'm just saying this so that you won't act…" What is the word? "…this way to other people," I warned. He needs to listen, but I sense that he's not, I'm team Avery, but I still think he shouldn't go creepy ghost with Lily, it will benefit my team, but we are currently in a truce, so I shouldn't wish him bad.
"I see, I won't see anyone else," he said. Is he reassuring me?
"I don't care if you visit other people, Ryle," I said my mind without realizing, my stupid mouth just moved on its own. "I… I mean you need another friend." To bother. If I only I could say the last part aloud.
"I don't need anyone else, only my savior," Ryle said with a smile.
"Please." I'm desperate here.
"No." I should have gone with Millie that day, or stayed at home, it's all because I went out.
After lunch or brunch, I don't care, he insisted that I followed him around, and I couldn't say no because I am still scared of this guy.
"How did you get the dragon?" Ryle asked. Why is that the first question everyone asks about Poppy? Is it that rare to see a dragon? I sighed and waved my bare hands at him, I feel naked without a glove. He grabbed my hand to examine the ring, long enough for me to start feeling self-conscious but Ryle was unaffected while I tried hard to fight the urge to pull my hand away. "So it's a seal?" he asked letting go. Ryle looked like the nerd he is, I snickered at the thought of Ryle being smart.
"What's wrong, Rose?" he asked. So he figured that Anne was just not it. "I mean Anne." Or not.
"I just thought it was funny seeing you act… normal. You are usually very…" Hold on, what was I about to do?
"I'm usually what?" he asked, anticipating. Is this karma? I feel bad for pressuring Lily like that, I'll just be honest, I have everything to lose anyway.
"Sorry to say, but you act weird sometimes," I said my honest thoughts. He didn't get angry instead he started laughing and said,
"That's a first." It is?
"Can I go home now?" I pleaded.
"No," he said, and I wasn't surprised.
We were still wandering around when I saw a girl crying alone by a corner, I shouldn't care. I turned to leave but saw myself strolling up to her. I squatted and stared at the brown haired girl, she's cute.
"Hey, are you lost?" I asked and stared back at me skeptically.
"Hmm… m… my…," she sniffed and tried again. "I don't know where my brother is," she managed to say before breaking down again.
"I'll help you find your brother," I offered, and she smiled, but it didn't last.
"My brother said I shouldn't follow strangers because they might be perverts," she said bluntly. Ryle started laughing, and I rolled my eyes in disbelief.
"Do I look like a pervert to you?" I asked.
"That's what a pervert would say," she replied and I scoffed.
"Okay, girl," I started, but she cut in with,
"I'm Sage." You shouldn't tell a pervert your name.
"Okay, my name is Rose, I'm a noble, and I am not a pervert, so don't be scared," I said.
"Most nobles are perverts," Sage said blowing my mind.
"Do you need help or not?" I asked tired of her charades. She tried standing up but fell on me, I looked at her legs and saw that she had an injury. Can Poppy heal wounds?
"Po…," I was about to call him but remembered that he was sleeping when I was kidnapped, that betrayal. I would rather not ask Ryle but I don't have a choice. "Ryle, can you heal her?" I asked hoping he'd say no.
"Do you want me to?" he asked. No, I'm just trying to find out the extent your abilities reach, stupid. Gosh, I wish I could say most of the things I think about.
"Yes," I whispered weakly. He tapped Sage's forehead and that was it. That was all it took, this genius type is annoying.
"Thanks, Sir," she said smiling, Ryle just turned and ignored her. Rude! Why would you act that way to a kid?
