Chapter 21 - Black Twilight

Huang Ran couldn't help but look back at Yuki. The look in Auryn Eklipse's red-yellow eyes didn't look very good, and a chilling feeling rose in Huang Ran's heart. He knew that this man wanted to eliminate a threat. A threat that could possibly stop him from achieving his goal. He quickly tried to find a way to get rid of this man.

"It's not what you're thinking." Auryn shook his head, but didn't elaborate any further.

"Well, you just said you wanted her heart." Huang Ran snapped and turned his attention to Auryn, "And my answer is no."

Saying that, he rushed over to Auryn Eklipse at tremendous speed, slashing his claws. He wasn't going to give him a chance to go anywhere near Yuki. Huang Ran knew that the man wanted to kill her for a reason, but he didn't care about why he wanted her. All he knew was that he needed to protect the girl. He wasn't going to let any danger come her way, especially since she was the last of her kind!

"Hmph, you think you can fight me?" Auryn smiled and tipped his hat, easily dodging Huang Ran's claws, kicking him in the stomach and sending him flying into one of the dead trees.

Huang Ran was coughing blood as he felt the heavy black Kongli surround him and drain his Kongli. He couldn't escape the domain, he had no choice but to stay here until the fight was over.

Mei Mei came over and put her hands behind Huang Ran's back under Auryn's gaze, and summoned her spirit and started to heal Huang Ran's wounds.

"A healing dragon spirit? Also one with such weird properties?" Auryn said with curiosity. A healing master with a beast spirit would be sought after by anyone, as this would give them the ability to heal while protecting oneself. This is why the angel clan under the Sun and Moon kingdom holds a lot of power.

Yuki's eyes widened at Huang Ran's injury. His body was in bad shape, and his golden scales were cracked and broken. Though they were fixed, the cracks filled with black ice, giving him an eerie feeling. She immediately stepped up, despite her nervousness. She raised her right hand that had a glowing snowflake, and formed a ball of snowflakes and shot it towards Auryn Eklipse.

As it got closer, Yuki exploded it, and took advantage of the wind to form a tornado of snow that trapped Auryn in a whirlwind of snow

"This... Yuki is really strong despite her level." Huang Ran said, feeling the temperature dropping. Because her first Spirit Skill is a Zone skill; her strength can deal with level 30's. Sadly, even though she is a dragon, she is just at the early levels of her spirit, so her spirit's power is weak.

"And she counters the Abyss..." Huang Ran mumbled, and his eyes turned into gold slits as he stared into the storm, looking for an opportunity to strike.

Auryn Eklipse appeared outside the tornado with black shadows, a small smile on his face.

"Wow, now this is interesting. First skill: a zone skill? You're the most talented person I've met. But, you're not the only one with a zone skill." Auryn said, holding his hat in one hand as he placed it on his heart.

"Sixth Spirit skill: Black Twilight."

Suddenly, a massive dome of black with a tint of purple and blue spread through the whole place and went out of sight. In the area, Yuki could feel the heavy Kongli pressing down on her.

"A zone skill?!" Huang Ran said, and pushed Mei Mei away to run back to Yuki.

"That's right, and this is my strongest skill that is comparable to your first skill. Sorry, but it seems that you can't fight me in this area." Auryn said, and crossed his arms across his chest as he stood in front of Yuki. She felt as if she was crushed to the ground, but also felt a force sucking her towards Auryn.

'I can't move!' Yuki thought in a panic, and cracks appeared on her claws as she dug into the ground. She couldn't escape.

"You're so weak," Auryn said, disappointed. "Even at the level you are at now, you can't even take a little bit of Kongli that I'm putting out. And you've almost used up all of your Kongli."

"Guys!" Yuki shouted with a weak breath, looking at Huang Ran and Ardor Huo.

Huang Ran responded to her call by putting his fist in front of his chest, shouting, "Fifth Spirit Skill: Golden Dragons Roar!"

After finishing speaking, his Kongli condescend into the shape of a dragon that flew towards Auryn Eklipse, wanting to dig in. Auryn didn't even bother to dodge, and just grabbed the golden dragon by the snot and crushed it with his hands, turning it back into Kongli. But this gave Yuki some time to back away.

Auryn frowned and was about to take action, but the phantom of his spirit lingered above his head. It was a bright yellow sun, but it had a bit of darkness covering the bottom right corner. It was almost like when the moon blocks the sun during the eclipse.

"Not enough time, if it goes on..." Saying that, he looked at Yuki with a little unfriendly eyes.

"It's her fault." Saying that, he disappeared, and the domain closed, showing the ruined Inn, with Arthur helping some of the injured villagers.

Yuki looked around and saw many with minor injuries and couldn't help but sigh in relief. Auryn Eklipse was really strong. If it wasn't for him leaving them, everyone would have died.

"He spared us? No, it's more likely that he didn't have enough time." Huang Ran said, while tending to Mei Mei, who fainted from using too much Kongli.

"He said that he needed my heart..." Yuki mumbled to herself. She didn't know what he wanted, but the fact that he wanted something to do with her heart is a little scary.

"W-what is this?" Huang Ran asked.

Looking at the scene in front of her, Yuki felt a chill run down her spine as she felt the urge to vomit. The smell of rotting corpses wafted in the air, making it hard for them to breathe. The night sky was covered by a black fog, which emitted an eerie light that glowed like the moon. The streets were filled with the corpses of countless villagers. They were not only full of cuts, but some were beheaded and had their organs exposed to the cold air.

Huang Ran seemed to understand what was going on and whispered.

"It seems like we weren't the only ones who appeared in his domain. Some of them experienced a different threat that he probably created."

Yuki felt a huge headache coming in, and her vision started to become blurry as the smell of the dead bodies around them assaulted her sense of smell.
