Chapter 3 - Heading to Star City

Days would pass since Yuki's awakening, and her skills have improved greatly. She has learnt to control the temperature of her claws. Sadly, she hasn't found a way to level up successfully and get a new skill like her sister has.

Currently, Yuki was sitting in a pond near her house, watching the dragonflies hover above the surface. She has spent the last week with her sister Ria in the Crystal Leaf Plains, trying to freeze the water. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to freeze it no matter how hard she tried.

Crystal Leaf Plains is not too far out from their village and is a place renowned for its mystical beauty and unique flora. The plains are characterized by vast expanses of shimmering crystal-clear water and fields of delicate, iridescent leaves that seem to glow under the sunlight.

Yuki sighed and stood up, and as she stepped onto land she saw her sister standing behind her.

"Hello darling~ How was your training going?" Ria asked while brushing Yuki's hair with her hand.

"It's going fine." Yuki replied with a small smile on her face. Ria would always give her a head massage whenever she was feeling depressed or angry.

"That's good. In two days we'll be heading to Star City. It will take roughly a week to arrive there if we take horses." Ria explained. She was planning on taking Yuki to Star City to sign up for the trials, so she could join the Star Knights.

"Ok, I'll keep training until then." Yuki nodded and stared at her dragon claws.

"Alright darling. Keep training and maybe you can beat me." Ria joked and smiled at her, making Yuki frown and slightly.

"I don't need to beat you." She pouted and glared at her sister. She still remembered that time when she fought Ria a few days ago, and lost so badly that she was left on the ground crying for twenty minutes.

"Oh? If that's true, how about we spar again?" Ria proposed with a smirk on her face. She was quite confident in her strength and could beat her sister easily. After all, she just awakened her spirit not too long ago and can't control her Kongli, but after a year of training, she has no doubts that her sister will be able to beat her up, so use the time now to enjoy beating her sister up.

"N-No! You'll just beat me up." Yuki rejected her with a frightened expression on her face.

"Come on! It'll be fun." Ria persuaded her and grabbed her arm, pulling her away from the pond. Yuki threw her arm off of her and soared into the air and looked down on her.

"Want to beat me? dream?" Yuki snorted.

Ria's lips twitched and looked down at her two small feet.

"You're bullying me." Ria said, tears forming in her eyes.

Yuki looked at her in disdain and didn't even bother to comfort her. Ria, seeing her sister's ever so arrogant posture in the air, couldn't help but laugh and rub away the tears in her eyes.

"Haha, my little snow dragon. You're becoming more and more arrogant lately." Ria stuck out her tongue and turned around and walked away, leaving Yuki floating in the sky alone.

Seeing Ria leave, Yuki harrumphed and flew down to the ground and returned to training.

Why do I feel like she's laughing at me... She thought to herself and started trying to freeze the pond.

The next day would arise, and Yuki's training went rather smoothly. She would gain a little bit of control over her Kongli energy and also learned how to manipulate her body temperature, giving her claws a frosty bite.

"Come, come! It's time to head out to Star City!" Ria said while holding a black bag filled with items.

Yuki was sitting in a tree with her dragon wings spread out. She could feel the wind blowing across her body and causing the nearby leaves to tremble.

Yuki closed her wings and dropped from the tree, landing safely on the ground. She followed Ria to the town's gates, where she would see a man with a pure white horse. He wore blue and silver armor and had a shiny long sword on his waist.

"Ah! Lord Robert!" Ria waved her hands in the air to call the man's attention, which she did.

"Miss Ria, you are finally here. Is this your sister?" The man said as he looked at Yuki behind her.

"Yes! This is Yuki, Yuki, this is lord Robert." Ria introduced Yuki to the man and also did the same for him.

"Hello." Yuki said quietly with a small bow, acting like a shy young girl.

"Haha, you've raised a fine young lady, Miss Ria." He laughed and rubbed his goatee, admiring Yuki's beauty.

"Thank you for the compliment, Lord Robert." Ria thanked him and smiled brightly.

"Please, just call me Robert. This horse can take you to Star City. You can drop it off at one of my chain stores once you arrive." Robert said and handed the rope of the horse to Ria.

"Thank you so much for the horse." Ria accepted the rope and patted the horse's head.

"It's no problem at all. If you need anything, just tell any of my store managers and I'll help you." Robert said with a smile on his face and turned and left.

"Come darling, let's go to Star City!" Ria said energetically and led the horse away.

"Let's go, Lavender." Ria said to the horse and jumped on it, patting its neck. She knew its name due to the silver name tag hanging around its neck.

Yuki followed her sister on Lavender and wrapped her arms around Ria's waist. Ria guided Lavender out of Sunrise Village and onto a dirt road leading towards Star City.

The road is quite narrow with logs placed on the side with branches on the top to block it from the sun. Trees surround both sides of the road and reach their branches towards the middle. The trees are so big that their thick trunks can't even be wrapped around by three adults. The soil is fertile and can produce tons of crops, making Sunrise Village one of the best places to live in near the Abyss.

At this time, a few people with the picture of Yuki in their hands, with a note below it.

Yuki, Snow Dragon, captured alive, 10,000 gold coins.
