After a bit of flying, Yuki looked ahead and saw a mountain that seemed to be covered in snow. She could almost hear the cold winds blowing and snow falling upon her. As they got closer to the mountain, the temperature started to drop by each second.
"Is it always snowy on the mountain?" Yuki muttered in wonder as she felt her hands starting to become numb from the cold.
The Meng Li didn't reply but landed safely on the ground. Once Yuki was off she turned back into a human.
Yuki blushed suddenly and quickly turned around.
"Y-you..." Yuki muttered, her cheeks turning red.
"What's wrong?" Meng Li asked as she put on her clothes, wondering why Yuki had a weird expression on her face.
"N-never mind..." Yuki said as she averted her eyes from Meng Li and looked at the snowy mountain in front of her.
Meng Li laughed lightly and pointed towards the mountain.
"Snow Dragon Clan is inside. Follow me." She said as she started to walk towards it.
Yuki quickly followed behind her. They both hiked up the mountain until they reached the summit, where a frozen cave stood in front of them. Meng Li walked towards it and touched the ice with her hands, causing the ice to melt away revealing a door that led into the mountain.
"A barrier?" Yuki muttered and looked at Meng Li in surprise.
"Yes, this is the home of the Snow Dragon clan. Not many know about this place except for the Dragon Sect's Elders." She replied and walked into the cave, leading Yuki deeper in.
After walking for what seemed like hours, they finally reached an open area that had a frozen pond in the middle, and in the center of the pond was a White dragon statue with its head tilted up to the ceiling and its mouth open.
Yuki walked up to the dragon statue and placed her hand on its cold surface, feeling a bit sad about everything that happened.
"Meng Li... Will I be able to revive my clan?" She asked in a quiet voice as she stared at the dragon statue.
Meng Li stood beside Yuki and patted her head gently.
"Yes. Even though all your ancestors are gone, you are still here." She said softly and put her hand on Yuki's shoulder, squeezing it lightly.
"Are there any books on my clan? Or anything that my ancestors passed on?" Yuki asked as she took her hand off the dragon statue and looked at Meng Li with determination in her eyes.
"I don't know." Meng Li replied sadly as she shook her head.
Yuki let out a sigh of disappointment and went back to staring at the dragon statue. She didn't know what to do now, other than train to become stronger.
"Yuki, it's getting late." Meng Li said as she looked up at the ceiling, where a icy circular hole could be seen, allowing light to filter through.
Yuki glanced at Meng Li and then nodded.
"Where do I live?" Yuki asked curiously as they made their way back to the entrance of the cave.
"For now, you can stay here. I will come back tomorrow and give you the dragon silk robes that Zloto was supposed to give you." Meng Li said.
"Thank you." Yuki said softly as she gave Meng Li a small hug, feeling grateful that she was helping her even though they just met.
Meng Li smiled and hugged her back, then bade farewell and left for the sect. Yuki watched her go before she looked around the cave. There were some buildings made out of compact snow that she could live in. Also there were few buildings that she assumed were warehouses where they kept their weapons. Yuki picked one of the rooms to stay in for the night and found it fully furnished. There was even a fireplace that would keep her warm all night long.
As soon as she did this, her eyes flashed open and she let out a gasp of pain, holding her head tightly as images of war flooded her mind. Blood and gore covered the entire battlefield, with hundreds of dead bodies strewn across the land, and the screams of people could be heard echoing throughout the entire area. The ground was covered in blood and it was difficult to see the color of the snow anymore, which was completely red due to all of the blood spilt.
"Shit..." She swore as she gripped her head tightly.
"Shut up!" She cried as she stood up, shaking violently as she tried to push away the horrid scenes from her mind.
Her eyes began to glow faintly, and the entire room started to shake violently causing small bits of snow to fall from the ceiling. A cold wind blew through the room as Yuki took in deep breaths as she tried to calm herself down. Her body trembled uncontrollably, causing her teeth to chatter loudly in the quiet cave.
"I want to go home..." Yuki mumbled quietly as she curled up into a ball on the ground and wrapped the blanket around her tightly.
After a few minutes she calmed down and slowly laid down on the cold floor.
"Tomorrow... Tomorrow... Alas, just forget it." She whispered as she closed her eyes.
But one thing kept clenching her chest tight.
What was I doing commanding the army?
