"Let's start!" The middle-aged man said and waved his sleeves, and a golden light shone down onto the platform, illuminating all the sixteen year old kids.
As the golden light hit Yuki's body, she could feel the world around her spinning. The sky seemed to turn white, and the ground turned into ice. The winds grew stronger and colder, and Yuki could see snow falling from the sky.
"What's happening?" Yuki gasped and fell on the ground, closing her eyes and waiting for everything to end. She felt as if her soul was freezing, and her whole body was turning into ice.
Suddenly, she heard a roar in the distance. It was a powerful sound that shook the ground and caused Yuki to open her eyes.
As she opened her eyes, she saw her hands with snow white dragon claws. She stared at her dragon body as it was as clear as water. Her claws were sharp and white like snow. She was at least six feet tall with pure white scales covering her body. She could also sense two transparent white wings on her back, though she couldn't feel them.
"Beautiful…" Yuki muttered and touched her dragon body, feeling the cold yet smooth texture of her scales. She then noticed a blueish white mist flowing out of her dragon body.
"Hmmm? This should be Kongli right?" Yuki extended out her claws, trying to control her Kongli energy, but nothing happened.
She kept trying but was eventually interrupted when the old man who awakened them came flashing in front of her face.
"Dragon Sect?" the old man muttered.
But why would a descendant from the dragon Sect be here? He thought while stroking his beard.
"Elder, why is there a dragon Sect member here?" A girl asked and suddenly appeared beside him. She was quite beautiful, with a slim figure and long silky black hair. However, she had an arrogant aura around her.
The old man shrugged, not knowing why but also didn't care.
"She awakened at level 10. Her spirit is a Snow Dragon. Write down her information and give her a recommendation letter so she can go to the capital and possibly join the Star Knights." The old man ordered the girl and flashed to other children.
"Ok, follow me." The girl replied with a snobbish look on her face. "You are really lucky to have awakened a dragon spirit."
Yuki ignored her and followed the girl to a tent at the side of the stone platform. The girl took out a piece of paper and some ink and dipped a feather quill into the ink bottle.
"Name: Yuki. Level: 10, Rank 9: Peasant Class. Spirit: Snow Dragon." She wrote down the information quickly and gave it to Yuki.
"Here, this is your recommendation letter. Bring it to the Spirit Star Ascension Platform to undergo trials in two months." She said and rolled up the recommendation letter and tied it up with a red string.
Yuki nodded and received the letter. She glanced at it and saw a small insignia on the lower left corner. It was a white crescent moon wrapped around a star.
"But what do I do until then?" Yuki asked her, placing the recommendation letter in a small pouch on her waist.
"You can always meditate to increase your strength. Kongli is a combination of physical and mental strength." The girl explained. "Once you reach the tenth level you'll reach a bottleneck. The only way to improve is to go under dire situations and you'll level up and gain a skill."
Yuki nodded her head and left the tent. She could see that the girl didn't want to be here and was easily annoyed.
Making her way back to her sister Ria, she saw that Ria had already bought many goods and was smiling widely.
"Darling! Did you awaken something?" Ria asked, seeing Yuki running over to her with a smile on her face.
Yuki nodded and summoned her spirit.
Seeing the transparent snow wings on her back, Ria was delighted. Spirits that could fly had a huge advantage over other spirits. Also, it seems that she awakened at level 10!
"Darling, what's your level? Please tell me you awakened a high level spirit." Ria smiled and slightly rubbed Yuki's hair, wanting to know her levels.
"I'm at level 10, rank 9: Peasant class. Spirit: Snow Dragon!" She said with her head high.
"D-Dragon..?" Ria froze after hearing her answer and mumbled.
"Dear, are you sure it's a dragon?" Ria asked Yuki. She had to make sure that the snow dragon was real.
"I'm sure! That's what the old man said." Yuki said, showing off her wings and snow white claws.
Ria's face stiffened and didn't know what to say. The Dragon clan is mysterious and no one knows where they are, but they're extremely protective to their kind. It's also said the Snow Dragons went extinct because they were rare and also weaker than the more common Ice Dragon.
"I knew you were special." Ria hugged Yuki, who was in her dragon form and felt so happy that tears came out of her eyes. Dragon is a Dragon! She could become something that she couldn't do with her weak bloodline. But she had one doubt in her mind. Why was she abandoned in the Abyssal Plane?
After thinking about this, Ria wiped away her tears and let go of Yuki.
"I'm so happy for you dear!" Ria said with a big smile on her face. "How about we go home and celebrate?"
"Sure! Let's go home sister!" Yuki replied with an excited look on her face.
but little to their knowledge, the old man who spoke to her before confirming her spirit was currently writing a note. After finishing he sealed it shut and left some of his Kongli on it.
"Dragon Sect... They are known to be very powerful and rarely appear in public. A lot of dragon clans are in a war against each other and can not appear in the sunlight without being noticed." The old man of the light star squad whispered to himself.
He then condensed his Kongli and threw the message in the air. Suddenly an eagle with golden eyes caught the message and flew away.
"In a couple days they should know what happened, but hopefully nothing will happen..." The old man sighed and turned around to look at Yuki walking happily away with her sister.
