Chereads / Ark: Sol Alpha / Chapter 15 - Unspoken Challenge

Chapter 15 - Unspoken Challenge

Sol's words seemed to have struck a nerve, causing the old lady to frown, her face turning red with anger.

"You dare speak to the dean of this academy in this manner?" She said with frosty eyes, but Sol only let out a disdainful snort.

"Each race is led by a leader, and with the absence of my father, I have been forced to fill the void until Darth Ark returns." Sol sneered, while the face of the old lady turned pale with shock. "In terms of status, you are nothing in comparison to the sixth tribe Kahi'k. Know your place."

The entire auditorium fell silent, and Sol began climbing the stairs again like nothing happened. While the Sixth tribe may lack a proper Kahi'k, it didn't mean just a single witch.

Regardless of her position as the Dean, she wasn't the Sorceress supreme and even if she was, Sol had no intentions of taking any form of disrespect.

He represented the sixth tribe now and if he showed weakness, not just him but every member of the fifty students from his tribe would suffer.

His name will be ruined amongst the people he is meant to govern and ultimately, he will lose his standing in their eyes.

"You…" the old lady tried her best to withhold her anger.

She knew Sol was right, in terms of status he was far more important than her, and the name of Darth Ark instantly killed all violent thoughts she had for him.

She had to admit that right now, Sol was untouchable to her. Furthermore, she could only wait and watch students find spots to sit.

After over five minutes of silence, every student was seated, but there was still this awkward tension since Sol and the old lady exchanged words.

The warlocks and witches in the crowd were clearly pissed by his comments. He practically belittled one of their ancestral spells and gave their race no face.

Sol noticed occasional hostile glares thrown his way from the crowd, but he simply chose to ignore them. He sat with his legs crossed as he patiently waited for the speech to begin.

"Esteemed students, I am Lady Zephyra, your Dean and welcome to our esteemed academy, where strength reigns supreme and greatness is forged in the crucible of challenge. As you stand before me today, know that strength, above all else, will be your guiding light on this arduous journey." She began.

"Here, amidst these hallowed halls, strength is not merely a virtue, it is the currency of success, the bedrock upon which empires rise and fall. Your intellect may be sharp, your talents undeniable, but without the unwavering strength of will and character, you will falter in the face of adversity." Lady Zephyra's gaze scanned the crowd but instinctively avoided Sol.

"You have been chosen not for your pedigree or privilege, but for the raw, unyielding strength that courses through your veins. It is this strength that will carry you through the darkest nights, propel you to conquer insurmountable obstacles, and emerge victorious against all odds."

'Is this an academy or a battlefield?' Sol was taken aback by w, but he heard.

He always knew strength was the most important in this world, but he didn't think they would take it this far.

"In the crucible of challenge, you will be tested like never before. You will face trials that will push you to your limits, demanding nothing less than the full measure of your strength. But fear not, for it is through adversity that true strength is forged, tempered by fire, and honed to perfection." Lady Zephyra continued.

"Know that you are not alone in this journey. You are surrounded by peers who share your unyielding resolve, instructors who will push you to surpass your own limitations, and a legacy of greatness that beckons you forward. But remember this, my dear students: in the end, only strength matters. It is not the brilliance of your mind or the depth of your talent that will determine your fate, but the indomitable strength of your spirit. Embrace this truth, harness your strength, and let it guide you to the pinnacle of success."

"Welcome to our academy, where strength is king, and greatness awaits those who are bold enough to seize it." Lady Zephyra ended her speech with a light bow.

Seeing someone that small bow made Sol want to burst into laughter, but the content of her speech remained in his mind. It revealed to him the nature of activities in the academy and knew it would be more chaotic than expected.

In fact, before coming here, he was given some information concerning the school. It is said that at least half of the students die off before graduation, and that's why the quality of fighters created from the academy is always top-notch. A tier one supernatural being from the Aetheria would easily overwhelm a tier one being of any race living outside this city.

That is why they are called alpha races!

They pick quantity over quality.

"Great! Great!" Sol's eyes lit up with excitement as he rose to his feet and began clapping, which caught everyone's attention.

Even Lady Zephyra was stunned because she didn't expect him to be the first to applaud her for her speech. Soon members of the sixth tribe stood up and began mimicking Sol, clapping, and slowly more students began clapping.

The dean gazed at Sol with confusion visible in her eyes, she couldn't tell what was going through the mind of the young master of the sixth tribe but seeing how his people mimicked his actions, his position in their hearts was made known to her. As long as Sol stood tall the people of the sixth tribe will keep standing without fear.

He was the head she needed to cut off to eradicate the body of the treacherous sixth tribe.

'I will break you before!' The dean hissed in her mind.

'I would like to see you try!' Sol sneered!
