Sol and Kevin arrived at the training grounds with a crowd of over a thousand students. On the stage was a 7ft tall man with a muscular build and a wild presence which would instinctively make any man retreat in fear. His glare was like that of a ferocious wolf, staring down its prey from a distance, and because of this, the once cheerful students approaching the training ground fell silent while walking cautiously.
The instructor was dressed in a tight black shirt which failed to hide his bulging muscles with gray and black camouflage trousers and black boots. Around his neck was a necklace made of beads and bones, this complimented his broad shoulders and thick neck
Watching the crowd of students walking in with their heads lowered, the instructor took note of four students who weren't intimidated by his presence. He mentally took note of them while waiting for the students to arrive at the foot of the elevated arena where he stood.
"I am Instructor Devon, your combat trainer. My duty is to teach you how to harness your bloodline powers and how to make use of it properly." Instructor Devon scanned the faces of the students while he spoke.
"For today's class, I will teach you the magic word that will allow you to harness the power of your bloodline at the first tier." Instructor Devon said while he raised his hand for all to see.
His words made students lean in instinctively, even Sol couldn't help but put aside every other thing going on in his mind, in hopes of grasping the next word that would leave Instructor Devon's lips.
"Hak!" Devon roared.
Instantly his presence transformed alongside his rough skin seemed to harden. His clean set of teeth grew two pairs of fangs, while his nails grew longer. If he gave off the presence of a fierce earlier, his presence had completely to that of a wild beast.
The students were taken aback by this, excitement visible in the eyes of everyone, and they chattered around, unable to hold back their excitement. Only four students remained calm and focused on the instructor as if they were trying to understand the minor details of his transformation.
The first was Sol, whose self-control was outstanding. He simply saw no reason to drool over this display like other students. While he was excited, he was more interested in seeing every minor change that the instructor's body underwent.
The second was Katherine, daughter of Lord Tepes, current Patriarch of the Vampire race. She stood elegantly with flowing ebony hair cascading over her slender shoulders. Her porcelain skin, almost translucent, complimented her deep crimson lips and gave her a mixture of an innocent and a vixen presence.
She wore a black lace that complimented her Gothic attire. Her eyes were a piercing shade of crimson, which showed little to no surprise to the instructor's display. It was clear she had seen something like this numerous times, and that was why she wasn't too surprised like others.
The third was Aurelius, a youthful warlock draped in garments of pure white. His white hair fell untamed around his shoulders, complimenting his sickly-looking skin, as pale as moonlight. Wrapped tightly around his eyes were bandages concealing his eyes. However, despite his lack of sight, his presence exudes a quiet strength and an enigmatic aura that commands respect from the crowd of witches and warlocks surrounding him.
He was the Son of the current Matriarch of the witch coven and even though he is her youngest son and just recently underwent the awakening rite, many have speculated he was the one who may succeed his mother.
The last was Derek, the young werewolf. He had sleek jet-black hair tied back into a ponytail, with piercing amber eyes that held a primal intensity. His clothes were fashioned from the deepest black fur, the garments rugged yet stylish molded to his form, emphasizing his muscular build beneath the surface.
He was a part of the family of alpha's that has been ruling the werewolf race for millennials now.
'As expected of the four young masters of the four families. Such a mediocre display is not enough to move them.' Devon was impressed by their composure.
'But this kid. This kid is the most dangerous of all four!' Devon's gaze shifted to Sol.
He was certain if any of the other three were to have the immortal blood-shattering seal put on them, they would have been dead, yet he was sitting here like he was perfectly fine. If someone didn't know he had the seal placed on him, they would believe he was perfectly fine like every other student.
'How is this possible?' Devon couldn't help but ask.
"Hak embodies the power of release, enabling one to manifest their inner strength. However, the way and manner in which this power is harnessed and expressed hold significant importance. Remember, the choices made in both what to manifest and the method of manifestation is what differentiates those with talent from the rest." Devon pushed aside his intrusive thoughts and continued with his explanation.
Hearing this, Sol frowned deeply and pondered in silence as he considered the meaning of those words.
Instructor Devon observed the eagerness in the eyes of the students and revealed a satisfied smile. It was obvious they wanted to test out their abilities as soon as possible
"For the rest of today's class, some of you will be given the opportunity to test your abilities." Devon said as he scanned the crowd for students to call up to the arena.
His gaze stopped at Sol, and he felt tempted to call him up to the arena, but he didn't feel comfortable with the idea. Sol may look okay, but the seal was still active within him, if he got Sol to fight and this leads to health complications due to the seal he will be held responsible.
Sol may be the son of a traitor, but he was still the son of a former Kahi'k and the next in line to take the throne.
