The cold look on Sol's face vanished as he saw the rewards. He didn't expect the system to be generous enough to give bonus experience points.
"Crazy…" He mumbled before turning his attention toward the instructors and the old butler running in his direction.
"Young master!" Old man Chamberlain ran past the scorched corpse and went straight off Sol.
He stopped in front of Sol, inspecting his wounds, but outside the bloody wound on his shoulder and a few bruises, he was okay.
Instructors Ethan and Devon stopped next to the scorched corpse and frowned deeply as they noticed the fox's tail.
Why would a fox spirit infiltrate the academy just to kill a student?
Why would a fox spirit dare to infiltrate Aetheria in the first place? That was akin to suicide!
"What happened?" Instructor Ethan's usual charm was replaced with a stern look.
However, his question attracted a murderous glare from Old Man Chamberlain, who believed Sol was shaken by the fight and needed to rest before getting interrogated. His murderous glare made the instructors take a step back, this action did not go unnoticed by Sol.
"I-it is okay if the young master needs time to recover first." Instructor Ethan quickly said.
"It's okay." Sol shrugged his shoulders.
"Are you sure?" the old butler asked with a pensive look.
"Yeah, she was weak." Sol nodded.
His words made the face of the old butler lighten up, his pride swelling up. Sol was bedridden for a year, he had no formal training like other heirs and had only awakened his abilities a few days. Yet, he defeated a fox spirit assassin with more experience, even though he suffered from the effects of the immortal blood-shattering seal.
Imagining the wonders this boy would do if he wasn't under the effects of the seal made the old man shiver with excitement.
"While in my room, I heard a beautiful voice singing. It was magical and made me want to find the source." Sol explained, ignoring the old butler, who was lost in his thoughts.
"It turned out to be a fox spirit…" Sol narrated the rest of the story to the instructors, leaving out details of how he broke free from the illusion.
The two listened attentively and only cut in once he was finished.
"How did you break free from her Ethereal Serenade?" Instructor Devon asked.
"I just did the moment I noticed her murderous intentions." Sol lied with a straight face.
He would rather die than let out his embarrassing secret. However, his response left the instructors shocked and confused because it shouldn't be possible for someone as inexperienced as Sol. But then again, he was the first ever living Hybrid, so there was a lot they didn't know about him.
They were outside the infirmary, discussing Sol's hybrid power with the old butler, and only got to know about the fight due to the raging flames in the corridor and smoke. To think a newly awakened ember initiate could create this much chaos alone was something they would normally consider impossible, but Sol did it.
They also saw how Sol executed the fox spirit by combining the powers of his battle and balance control forms. He clearly overwhelmed a trained assassin and executed her in the most vicious way possible.
He was a monster capable of anything and everything!
"Since she didn't give a reason why she attacked him, we have no choice but to assume any one of our students can become a victim." Instructor Devon said thoughtfully.
Sol had also left out the part where the system informed him of the plan of the seventh finger general to get rid of him. He knew if he did, more questions would be asked which would only end up revealing his true lineage.
Should this happen, the already terrified alpha races will take his life. While they were afraid of Darth Ark, Sol was a being capable of replacing the Nether lord.
He was of a higher lineage which guarantees his overwhelming strength against all the other alpha races, should he be allowed to grow
"True… we need to report this to the Dean." Instructor Ethan nodded in agreement.
"Now I have answered your questions, it's time for you to answer mine." Sol spoke up, attracting their attention.
They both exchanged glances, and even the old butler looked at him with interest as they waited for his question.
"Why would a patient be left unprotected?" Sol asked with a raised eyebrow. "Isn't that unprofessional?"
The faces of the instructors turned red with embarrassment as they looked for the right words to use. Even the old butler looked ashamed, apparently feeling guilty for not staying by Sol's side
"The truth is that you are no one's favorite, especially amongst the witches who make up all the academy healers." Instructor Ethan explained. "They will heal you because they are obligated to, but they won't go out of their way to look after you."
"Also, I called your butler aside to tell him about your Hybrid fighting class. I felt I was obligated to tell him first before passing on the message to the Dean, just in case…" Instructor Devon's voice trailed off.
Sol found, as he listened to their words, it seemed like the people with the most resentment for him were the witches and warlocks. Well, he could understand why since his father was the reason their beloved princess betrayed them, committed a taboo, and ended up dying a gruesome death.
"The academy is not safe anymore, so I will return to the sixth tribe for a week to recover from my injuries." Sol said, not giving anyone the chance to refuse his order.
"Yes, I also believe this is the best option." Instructor Devon responded with a nod.
