In this world, there are two battle types, Ru-Destros and Ru-Naetros.
Ru-Destros are the offensive warriors whose power manifests offensively. Their abilities are direct and fierce, well suited for direct confrontations. Meanwhile, those termed Ru-Naetros are considered the balance type or support type. Their abilities manifest through indirect means and not from the caster itself. These types are no different from witches who would murder from long distances as long as they can acquire a string of hair.
They were considered extremely dangerous and rare, yet people preferred their rulers to be battle types who could stand before an enemy and deal with them directly.
In the ancient books of legends, there are legends of a powerful being that once possessed both battle types and was considered the first Hybrid. Many considered this a myth and never took it seriously but looking at Sol now, they were left dumbfounded.
His ark ability was manifesting directly from his hands, and the environment was heating up drastically.
"A hybrid… he is actually a Hybrid!" Instructor Devon's head was spinning.
Just in his first class, he had been forced to deal with many surprises. He was still lost in thoughts, wondering what to make of this situation, and he failed to notice Sol make a move.
Thud!
Sol sprang forward, dashing at Aurelius with a strange smile. At first, he was confused about how abilities worked but upon saying the word Hak, not only was his power released but his genes seemed to awaken as well, giving him a vague understanding of what he was capable of.
All he needed to do now was explore the strange feeling and the limit of his powers.
Bam!
Sol shot into the air, reaching over two meters high, his eyes flickering between dark green and orange light while the fire burning in his hands flared up fiercely.
Swoosh!
Sol swooped down like an arrow, descending with immense speed, but strangely Aurelius made no move. He stood like a statue and just when Sol was barely a meter away, he made his move.
'What is this?' Sol's eyes dilated in shock as an uneasy feeling washed over him.
If felt like his body was frozen in time and the only thing moving was Aurelius's hands which came together as if he was praying.
"Hak!" Aurelius said indifferently as he clapped his hands.
Buzz!
Sonic waves exploded from his palms, meeting Sol, who was still airborne!
Blegh!
Sol was thrown back like a rag doll, his body hitting the ground and rolling a couple of times before stopping at the edge of the arena. His vision blurred, blood rolling down his eyes, nostrils, ears, and lips as he struggled to move, but then he felt a warm liquid rush up his throat.
Gripping his belly, Sol spat out a mouthful of blood and the contents of his breakfast. His sense of direction was completely scrambled and his sense of smell distorted. His body felt numb, making it unable to move and in the darkness of his mind, the ball of fire representing his Ark power was dwindling.
It was getting consumed by the darkness!
Everyone was dazed, their eyes pinned on Aurelius's figure, and a feeling of realization dawned on them. Aurelius was able to move around without the help of anyone, even though he was blind because of his sound magic. Every minor sound triggered his echo-location ability, giving him a brief and unique vision of the world around him, even to the smallest detail.
Instructor Devon snapped out of his daze and walked to the center of the ring with his hand raised. He was about to declare Aurelius the winner, however, before he could speak, Sol's eerie laughter reached everyone's ears.
"Hehehehehe-hahahahahahaha!"
Grabbing onto his belly, Sol's laughter became hysteric as he slowly dragged himself to, and his craze grin became visible to everyone. He abruptly threw his head up, revealing dark green eyes with dark cracks spread across his eyelids.
"HAK!"
Buzz!
Dark green flames exploded from his body as a diabolic presence exuded from him. His orange hair grew longer and turned into a shade of black and green, while his nails turned black, growing longer with each passing moment.
[Ark Bloodline: Cerberus activated]
Roar!
The dark green flames gathered over his head, taking the form of the three-headed Cerberus, glaring down at Aurelius. Its roars rattled the entire training ground, causing students to retreat in fear, leaving only sixth tribe members bubbling with excitement. Even Aurelius shivered and took a step back, the roar of Cerberus gave him a clear image of a mighty three-headed beast looming over him, it was far more detailed than what others saw.
Bam!
He fell on his butt, paralyzed with fear, as beads of sweat ran down his pale face. Instructor Devon stepped in, standing between him and Sol while left in confusion.
Usually, a supernatural being becomes more connected with the core of his bloodline only once they ascend to the second tier, but for Sol, it was the opposite!
The power he could muster by using the core power of his ark bloodline was far stronger than his Ark surface power, which was his fire abilities.
'This child is truly an abnormality like everyone predicted!' Instructor Devon frowned as he took a battle stance.
Unknown to Devon, it wasn't that Sol had a greater link to the core of his Ark bloodline, rather he was a being of nether realm lineage. The core of the Ark bloodline which was of the nether realm nature was his surface power, while the Nether-lord bloodline ability was now his official core ability.
He was not just an original like the pioneers of the Ark race, he was above them in terms of status and the purity of his nether bloodline was far higher than the purity of his human bloodline. He was a being a level about the alpha races, but no one knew of this, even Sol wasn't aware advantages of his true potential and background.
