Chereads / Ark: Sol Alpha / Chapter 18 - Gaining A Follower

Chapter 18 - Gaining A Follower

For breakfast, Sol for a large piece of steak and salade catalane. He was frustrated that there was no wine available for students, so he decided to settle for a glass of lemon juice.

Walking to a table at a secluded corner of the cafeteria, he cursed under his breath in annoyance. This was an academy of supernatural beings, not normal humans!

While they were just sixteen, it still didn't mean it was okay to treat them like the average human sixteen-year-old child. He was expecting some higher form of respect.

"Errm… are you sure it's okay to have me sit with you?" Kevin's timid voice rang from behind, dispelling the anger brewing in Sol's mind.

"Yea?" Sol kept walking while he responded.

"Do you think it's really okay for me to eat with you?" Kevin asked nervously. "An omega like me relating with the son of a Kahi'k is unheard of."

"Even when I'm the one who asked you to tag along?" Sol didn't flinch at Kevin's words.

He could feel the gaze of so many people, but this meant nothing to him, especially when strange things were happening in the cafeteria, like vampires carrying trays full of child blood bags.

If they could ignore something that strange and focus on him for relating with an omega, then they are the problem. He also didn't want to sit with members of the sixth tribe because he believed that a leader must have a god-like presence amongst his people.

The moment he relates a lot with them and they see his flaws, he loses all the respect they have for him. Sol strongly believed that the strength of a leader lay in his influence.

Once it is gone, the leader becomes just a man.

They finally reached the table and picked out their seats and they decided to sit opposite each other. Sol began eating without much hesitation, leaving Kevin, who was nervously glancing around, clearly uncomfortable by the amount of attention he was getting.

"You say you admire me but you are too afraid to carry my ideals and beliefs." Sol said after swallowing, catching Kevin's attention.

"I- I know but people are different. I'm not like you." Kevin buried his face and silently ate.

'What a fucking wimp!' Sol was stunned.

This was the first time he had come across such a submissive beta male, but he believed it was not Kevin's fault for being this way.

In the werewolf race, hierarchy is religiously taken into account in practically all aspects of their daily life. People like Kevin who were omegas were considered the most worthless members of the pack, and they were treated as such, so it was normal for someone like Kevin to have been made to grow in conditions that shattered his confidence as a man.

However, that makes him perfect for Sol. If a man cannot reach for the heavens, he would attempt to attach himself to someone who he believes can reach it.

Man is destined to always attempt to attach themselves to greatness, and Sol had no issues letting someone like Kevin attach.

'There is strength in diversity' Sol mentally grinned.

If he focused solely on the Ark family and the sixth tribe to form his loyal forces, he would end up missing something important. He planned to pull in allies from all races both within and outside Aetheria.

Sol took a mouthful of his lemon juice and let out a satisfied sigh.

"Very well then. Why don't you become my right-hand man?" He said with a strange glint in his eyes.

His offer caught Kevin off guard, causing him to choke on his food.

Cough!

Cough!

Kevin coughed heavily and reached for his bottle of water, gulping down half of the contents in one go. While this was happening, Sol sat there silently and watched him with a small smile playing on his face.

Kevin beat his chest a few times and coughed lightly again. His face was red, but the shock on his face remained as he turned to meet Sol's gaze.

"Are you serious?" He couldn't help but ask.

Sol chuckled at this question because his intention was never to just rule the small sixth tribe. Why not take the entire Aetheria if he felt it was possible?

The only way for him to achieve this is to set up puppet leaders in each alpha race. The main purpose of this is for him to have the freedom to use Bashomon.

If Bashomon was truly the gateway to all realms in the universe, then he could return to Earth with it. He had old parents who may become a target of his business and political rivals.

He desperately wished to protect them, but also exert his revenge on those he believed were responsible for his death.

"Follow me and I will take you to heights you never dreamed of." Sol's eyes lit up with passion, stunning even Kevin. "Even the heavens cannot fathom what kind of greatness we will achieve."

Kevin seemed nervous and reluctant. He searches Sol's eyes in silence for a while before asking a question.

"Does that mean we are friends?" he asked.

"Hahaha!" Sol burst into a loud laughter, catching the attention of people.

'What kind of wimp is this?' he couldn't stop laughing.

What kind of man asks another man if they are friends?

He had only seen this behavior among women!

"Very well then. We are friends… best friends." he said as his eyes glinted like that of the devil giving a man riches in exchange for his soul.

Hearing his response, Kevin's face lit up, and a smile spread gradually. With enthusiasm, he returned to his meal and began eating happily, while Sol just watched him in silence.

For now, his actions are guided by the system and the ultimate goal given by it is to kill the seventh finger general. As long as he could accomplish that, he believed he would be free from its constraints.

Only when that happens will he initiate his own plan.
