💞Love from a distance: A Tale of Unexpected Connection💞
Chapter 8
Liela POV
I never got to tell you how Tania looked, so I will do that now. Tania is a slender girl with thick eyebrows, black eyes, a flat nose, and pink lips. She is pretty and of average height.
"Let's have ramen tonight," I said, changing the topic.
"Okay, but where can we buy it?" She asked.
"Don't worry, I know a special place," I answered excitedly.
"Let me guess, outside of school?" She said.
"Yes, of course," I said, smiling.
Ryan POV
I was in the College of Pure and Applied Sciences, finding my way to the computer lab. I entered the lab and found a place to sit down. Soon, the room was filled up and the lecturer arrived, and class started.
"Good morning, students. My name is Mr. Caleb and today will be a practical class, but before that, you all need to understand the needs of end-users and stakeholders to define software requirements and specifications...
Can anyone tell me the responsibility of a computer software engineer?"
"Sir, why don't this guy wearing a mask tell us all about it? I'm sure he knows," Jackson said, smirking at me.
The guy in the mask stood up, introduce yourself and answer the question, Mr. Caleb said.
I stood up and saw all eyes on me, waiting for me to speak. I said, "My name is Ryan Diego, and the key responsibilities of software engineers include requirements analysis, designing, coding, deployment, and maintenance."
"A round of applause for him, and have a seat, Ryan," he said. They clapped as I sat down, and I saw the pained look on Jackson's face and smirked.
After a few hours, the class was over, so I left the lab and was walking when I stopped and looked back. There was a note posted on the notice board.
From the board of the sports college,
"We are here to inform students about the scheduled time for sports activities. It will be held on April 1 by 9am. Students are expected to have filled the forms and submit them to Mr Cyrus, the manager of sports before that time. The timetable for lectures would be rescheduled soon so the sports activities can be incorporated into it, that's all for now"
I took out my phone and dialed a number.
"Marcus, let's meet this evening at Wuxia restaurant at 6," I said, then ended the call.
Liela POV
We had finished our class for today so it was time to eat ramen. We left the school and were at the neighborhood streets walking.
"Do you know where we're going?" Tania asked, seeing I was looking at my phone.
"Yes, look the map says we have to turn left," I said, showing her the map.
"Gosh, you don't even know where it is Liela, what if we get lost here?" she complained.
"We would find our way out through the map," I said.
"What's the name of the restaurant?" She asked.
"Wuxia restaurant," I replied.
"I hope when we get there it wouldn't be closed," she said.
"It wouldn't. I'm very sure," I reassured her.
After the long walk, we finally got there. We got in and went to sit in empty seats. The waiter came and attended to us. We had picked some Korean dishes aside from ramen, which were bibimbap, Tteokbokki, pajeon, and soju to try out. The waiter came back with all the dishes and placed them on the table. We started digging into the ramen and other dishes.
Ryan's POV
I was seated in Wuxia restaurant with Marcus. I called for the waiter and she came.
제가 비빔밥, 김치, 그리고 불고기 주문할게요, 웨이터님. ("I will have bibimpap, kimchi, and bulgogi," I said to the waiter).
알겠습니다, 웨이터가 말 ("Noted," the waiter said) and left to get what I ordered.
"Hmm, boss, I hope you're not angry with me," Marcus said, stammering.
"No, but since you reminded me, do 50 push-ups then I'll forgive you," I said as I looked at my phone.
"B...oss, I meant to say how is life in Nile," he said quickly.
"100 push-ups," I said.
"Bos..."
"150 push-ups," I said, and he didn't say a word again. He stood up and started doing the push-ups.
1, 2, 3, 4... he counted as he did them.
I heard laughter and turned to look since the voices looked familiar. I saw her with her friend laughing.
