Love from a distance:A tale of unexpected connection💞

Chapter 10

Liela's POV

We got back to school before the curfew, which was 9. As we entered our room, I saw Rose and Sasha looking at us.

"Welcome back. Where did you two go?" Rose asked.

"We went to try ou..," Tania said but interrupted her saying "some exercise."

"Oh, how was it then?"

"It was nice," I replied.

After I had finished showering and put on my nightgown, I laid down on the bed and couldn't help but think about Diego. His muscular body and his hoarse voice, gosh I wondered how he would look like. I'm very sure he would be more handsome than that unfortunate weakling," I said, blushing.

Days had passed, and I had started missing Diego. I know it's weird, but I think it was love at first sight for me. Tania was having her first skating lesson today, which was on April 1, so I was going to watch her. I left the hostel late and got to the sports college. As I entered, I saw a hot, handsome basketball player sweating profusely, making him look sexy. I stood there like a statue, admiring this perfect human being. Gosh, his skin is so flawless, his lips... I wish they could kiss mine. Oh no, his eyes are green, wait," I shouted loudly, getting the attention of the people around, and his too.

"No, it can't be. I was drooling over this unfortunate weakling. How can someone like him be handsome? I thought he would be ugly, not cute," I said, regretting all I had said about him and done minutes ago. I saw him staring at me. Well, was it just now? Hmm, I should hiss," I hissed after giving him a disgusted look before leaving. I can't give him the satisfaction that I actually checked him out.

Ryan's POV

I left the hostel and went to the sports college. I got to the gym where the basketball court was and met others there waiting. In the meantime, I got acquainted with the other guys, who were Andrew, Louis, and Drake. I found myself surprised that I could relate well with them, and in the few minutes we talked, I found out that each of us had some similarities. Jackson walked into the gym and as soon as he saw me, his face changed. I really don't know his issue with me, but if he steps on my toe, he would unleash that demon in me.

The coach came and introduced us to the Bulldog's basketball team, who were also students at the college. After each of them introduced themselves in the team, the coach told us to sit on the floor which we did and he counted all of us. We were sixty in total.

"Wow, you guys are more than I expected. I could create four teams from all of you. So is anyone good at basketball here, signify if you are."

A few students and I raised our hands.

Jackson's POV

I was shocked when I saw that loner raise his hand. I was expecting him to be poor at this so I can rub it in his face. But let's see if he can defeat me, I said smirking at those thoughts.

We were called out to play while the rest watched us, including the Bulldog's basketball team. Since we were sixteen in number, it was eight vs eight so Ryan was my opponent. I was going to show him who the boss is.

The match started, I took the ball from my opponent, dribbling past them and heading to their place to score. I passed the ball to my teammate and he passed it back to me when I was almost close to the net. I was about to throw it in when Ryan took the ball like a flash, dribbled around all my teammates, and scored. I stood there dumbfounded, trying to recall what happened. The game continued, and none of us could score because Ryan and the other guys on his team were very good. They scored twenty points while we scored none. I saw as he shook hands with his teammates and talked to them.

For the first time, I will say he's not all I thought he was. He's just a loner and he enjoys it, but that doesn't mean he could not make friends. He moves with someone that flows like him, and being this good in basketball is really something. He's not that bad after all, I said, and couldn't help but smile.

Ryan's POV

As I chatted with Andrew, Louis, and the rest, I turned and saw Jack staring in our direction.
