Chapter 7 - The Unlikely Connection

💞Love from a distance: A tale of unexpected connection💞

💞Chapter 7💞

💞Ryan POV💞

I shut down my laptop when I was done working and climbed into my bunk bed, then laid down. I placed my hands behind my head and stared at the ceiling until I fell asleep. The next day, I left the hostel by seven to enjoy the morning peace and headed to the sports building when I saw her. I stopped walking and stared at her, expecting that she wouldn't notice me, but she did, she stared back. I found myself immersed in her beautiful eyes. Her friend looked confused as she glanced between the two of us. Eventually, she looked away, took her friend's hand, and walked quickly into the sports building.

Liela POV

It was a beautiful morning, so Tania and I decided to submit some forms before heading to class. As we approached the building, I saw him and stopped walking. He stared at me, and I felt disgusted and angry as I looked into his cute no ugly eyes. I quickly looked away, grabbed Tania's hand, and walked faster into the building.

"What was that?" Tania asked, shocked.

"Nothing," I replied, feeling a surge of anger towards him. "I just hope the manager is here so we don't waste our time."

"Don't change the subject, Liela," Tania said, noticing the tension between us. "Do you know him?"

"No, I was just surprised to see a handsome guy like him," I replied bitterly.

"Ohh really but it didn't look like that," she said waiting to hear everything.

"We should just go in," I replied, eager to avoid further discussion.

The manager hadn't come so we were told to wait for him, waiting wasn't a problem for me but since he was here it really was. As we waited inside for the manager, he finally entered the office so l tried to ignore the presence of "him." He seemed to be aware that the manager wasn't there yet. I tried to refocus my attention on Tania, but she gave me sideways glances to the guy.

"Hi, are you waiting for the manager too?" Tania asked him, attempting to strike up a conversation. He looked at her briefly and then returned to his phone.

I couldn't believe his audacity to ignore her, and I left the office to calm down. After some time, I decided to check on Tania, but as I opened the door, someone from inside opened it as well, causing me to fall towards him. Our faces were inches apart, and I felt his hands on my waist.

For a moment, I was taken aback by the situation, but then I regained my composure and removed his hands from my waist. I whispered to him, "Your hands don't deserve to be on my waist, unfortunate weakling." He stepped back, and I smirked before rejoining Tania outside the office.

Ryan POV

As I entered the office and saw the manager wasn't there, I decided to check my phone for project updates. I chose to ignore the question from Liela's friend, because the question deserved no answer. I knew Liela was angry as l heard her footsteps as she left, and the manager finally arrived. After submitting my form, I held the door open and saw Liela falling so l inadvertently prevented her from it by holding her waist, resulting in a brief moment of closeness between us.

When she whispered those words in my ear, l stepped back because I was surprised by her boldness. As I left the office, I couldn't help but feel intrigued by her feisty attitude.

"You're my type Liela"

Liela POV

During literature class, Tania expressed her embarrassment about the encounter with "him." I reassured her that it was not her fault for trying to strike up a conversation.

"I shouldn't have said anything to him, guys like him wouldn't answer girls like me" she said.

Someone as pretty as you should never feel inferior in the presence of someone like him l said, and she blushed in response.
