Love from a distance: A Tale of Unexpected Connections"

💞Chapter 6💞

💞Ryan's POV💞

I got in and dropped the nylon beside her, then left.

Liela's POV

I woke up and saw a nylon beside me. Is Tania back, I wondered as I checked the nylon and saw all I needed. I went to the restroom and changed into the baggy shirt and trousers then kept my clothes in the nylon before going back to the class only to see Tania already waiting.

"Hey where hav...wait, how did you change your clothes?" She asked, surprised.

"I thought you brought these for me," I said, showing her the nylon.

"No I didn't. Where did you get this?" She asked.

"On the table, it contained everything I needed so I assumed it was from you," I said, hoping she would remember she brought this for me if she had forgotten.

"Well, those are not from me. This is from me," she said, showing me a nylon.

I stood there shocked and tried to fathom who brought the clothes but couldn't.

"Who could possibly know I was on my period apart from Tania? No one I guess, but how did someone know and brought this for me," I thought.

"Liela, don't stress on this. The person who brought this didn't want you to know either, that's why him/her dropped it and left. So it's better you don't stress finding who it was," she said.

I nodded my head as she said it, took my bag and the nylon, then left the class with Tania.

Ryan's POV

I was busy all through and didn't have time to check on her. I only hope she had taken the pain killer and was okay now. It was past seven when I finished my last class and was heading back to the hostel. I passed a pathway and found myself admiring the flowers and the birds chirping. Soon everything stopped when I saw her in front of me.

"I finally found you," she muttered.

I was confused for a second but figured out what she meant later. Did she know I was the one, I questioned myself.

"I wanted to thank you for helping me that day in the library," she said, and I scoffed.

"I don't need your thanks, I did it because I felt the book shouldn't fall because of your clumsiness," I said coldly.

"I...but...thou..." was all that came out of her mouth.

"Don't think otherwise, dear Liela. I can't believe you could be so cheap to fall for that," I said and passed her, but stopped and whispered in her ear, "go home Liela, mom is waiting to pat you while you cry," then left.

Liela's POV

I was watching nature, those beautiful birds flying and the trees from the top of the College of Social Sciences. I saw him walking down the pathways opposite the college and noticed he was admiring nature too. I quickly went to meet him before he leaves. I stood in front of him and muttered "I finally found you."

I stared at him deeply and said, "I wanted to thank you for helping me that day in the library," but what I heard from him was not what I expected.

I was aroused in anger and wanted to talk but couldn't because my throat was already sore. I felt like crying but I didn't want to let that loser get to me, so I stomped off angrily.

Ryan's POV

"I'm not someone you should get acquainted with, Liela. Just stay far from me, that's best for you," was what I meant to say to you, Liela, but I felt you wouldn't take heed to this so I had to say these. I'm sorry...

I got to the hostel, and the hall officer handed a paper to me, it was the form. I filled it and kept it in my bag before going to the stairs. I got to the room, and was welcomed with loud music and voices talking. Jack turned and gave me a disgusted look, but I didn't care. I went to drop the bag, took a few things, and headed to the bathroom.

Liela's POV

Those words he said to me hadn't left me. "Don't think about it," I said as I scooped the spaghetti and meatballs into my mouth. I forcefully ate the food because I had lost my appetite and didn't want the food to go to waste. When I was done, I stood up and went to wash the plate before going to my upper bunk to lay down. I placed my hands at the back of my head and stared at the ceiling.
