"Anele."
"That's a strange name, how did you find us?" Draco asked, still aiming the fireball at her.
"I don't want any trouble. I just happened to see a lot of energy coming from your house. I decided to check it out and here we are," she explained, though it was a lie, but not entirely far from the truth.
She had been searching for them for a long time. While she was resting, she felt the large amount of magic surge from that house. She recognised that power and she knew that if she felt it, others would too. So, she rushed over and saw Dylan consumed with dark power, she immediately recognized that power as vengeance. When a god or goddess has not chosen a particular power, whether good or evil, vengeance takes over them until they choose a path. But if their time runs out and they don't choose, they are consumed by vengeance.
She saw what Dylan was doing to Draco, flew up to him, and connected telepathically.
She could use her powers to cast a spell to bind vengeance until Dylan was ready to make his choice, but he had to be able to regain control first.
"Listen to my voice, you are stronger than vengeance. Be calm and you will overpower him," she said, sensing that he was slowly gaining control of his body, and she started casting a spell to bind vengeance until Dylan was ready to choose a power.
"How dare you! Who gave you the authority to use your magic on me?" Vengeance bellowed, "Wait a minute, I remember you… What a twist, You are his…"
"Vengeance, be gone," she said, finishing the spells and freeing Dylan.
He didn't even notice she was there, Dylan rushed to Draco who had fallen to the ground. She watched him cry over the dragon and rolled her eyes. Walking into his view, she watched as his mouth fell open. His expression told her everything he was thinking.
"Yes, your little show brought down the barriers. Now, if you will excuse me, I have to help your dragon," she said and started saying some spells. Her eyes turned blue and energy started flowing into Draco.
After what seemed to be an eternity to Dylan, she was done.
"What did you do? he is still not awake!" he shouted.
"He is so impatient like Selene," she muttered. She rolled her eyes and folded her arms.
While Dylan was distracted with worry, she observed him, searching for a connection he has with Selene. Her gaze fell on the necklace he wore, that necklace was given to Selene on her tenth birthday. Tears welled in her eyes as she recalled how happy Selene was when the necklace was given to her.
Now, she could see Selene in him, literally of course. Unless she had bound herself to him. Looking for the signs, she took a closer look at his hands and she saw the tattoos.
She gasped, Selene did bind herself to him. A piece of Selene was in Dylan. She frowned; this couldn't be good.
Draco's scream brought her out of her thoughts, she saw them running and she followed them. she followed them into the house. She remembered this house; it was a gift to Selene. "How did I forget to check this house?" she muttered, mentally face-slapping herself.
She watched them pack their stuff hurriedly.
"We can fight them, I am stronger now," Dylan said, looking excited for some action. She didn't blame him; being locked up in this house must have been horrible for him. She frowned as she remembered that it was how Selene behaved too.
"No!!" Draco and her shouted at once.
"Listen Dylan, you are in a lot of trouble, but I will deal with that when we are safe. We don't know the strength of our enemies and we can't go into it blindly. We have to fall back," Draco said.
"But…"
"I agree with your dragon. We have to go now!" Anele sided with Draco
Before he could utter another word, the dragon opened a portal. Dylan didn't want to run away from the fight, he knew he could defeat them. He didn't expect her to push him into the portal and she followed immediately.
She watched him fall flat on the ground, which was very funny.
"Ufffffff!" he groaned.
She laughed and helped him up.
She scoffed as she looked at the dragon who was challenging her, maybe if he knew who she really was, he wouldn't dare point that ball at her.
Draco steadied his aim, he didn't want to take any risk at all. Dylan pulled his cloth and tried to tell him that they were not in any danger, but Draco was adamant about it.
"Ungrateful children," she said out loud.
"What! I am much older than you," Draco defended himself.
"I saved your life and now you are threatening me!!! I never even got a thank you!! I should have allowed vengeance to finish what he started!" she screamed at Draco.
"Well, I would have been able to figure it out myself, I didn't need your help," Draco retorted.
"And you wonder why I am calling you a kid. That's because you behave like one," she retorted back at him.
Dylan watched the exchange and found it amusing. He felt cold suddenly and became aware of his environment. He needed to stop all the arguments and figure out where they were.
They were both quiet and stared daggers at each other for some minutes before Dylan broke the silence.
"Thank you for saving our lives. I am sorry about his behavior, we have been through a lot these few years and to trust a stranger is hard for us," Dylan said, he hoped the lady would understand.
"It's fine. Like I said earlier, I don't want any trouble and was just passing by when I felt your powers," she said, "I need to continue my journey….. but where are we?"
She didn't want them to suspect anything, so she pretended to continue on her journey.
An howl sent chills to Dylan and Anele's body, they both looked at Draco with a surprised look.
"You said you are an adult now, it is time to take revenge on your parent's murderers," Draco said with a mischievous smile on his face.
Dylan suddenly felt his blood go cold, he wanted to take revenge but his killing rampage has been making him consider other ways of punishing people. He didn't know if Draco will understand if he explained to Draco.
Anele looked at Dylan and the poor boy was as white as snow. He was so white you'd think his blood was drained from him. He started sweating profusely and looked like he held his breath.
She was about to say something when Draco cut in.
"Or are you scared? Just some minutes ago you were screaming your head off about how you are ready for revenge. I didn't know that you are a scaredy cat… And a coward," Draco teased him.
She could sense vengeance breaking free, she couldn't afford to risk that, so she quickly cut in.
"I am famished, Dylan do you have anything I can eat?" she asked, in hopes that the distraction worked.
Dylan looked at her with relief all over his face and smiled, he brought out bread from his bag and walked towards her.
She gave Draco a disapproving look and he mouthed 'what'.
