Ten thousand years later.
Deep in the void, the original soul of the Demon King slowly started to awaken.
"Haha, after so long, I'm back!" His soft arrogant laughter reverberated in the void. Even though no one could hear him, he didn't care.
Once he returns, he will dominate the human world once again.
Time slowly started to count, and he slowly felt something was wrong. Since he had just woken up, he couldn't sense it properly.
A few hours later.
"Damn you! You stupid animals! I'll kill you all! All of you!" He roared angrily.
He could sense it well now; his power had been separated. He could barely feel where they were located. With his current strength, there was no way he could even track them down, much less merge with them.
"It must be the work of that foolish bird! I should've killed him." The Demon King was enraged.
His plans had been disrupted once again, by the same hateful winged race's people. He knew for a fact that humans didn't have the means to search for his soul in the vast void, much less divide it. This was something done by those winged men.
"I can't return to the human world with this little strength. I'll not be able to survive." He muttered to himself.
He wanted to go back in grand style. When he was going into slumber, he told announced that the day he came back would be the end of the human race. Once he was done with the human world, he would then head to the winged race's realm and destroy it as well.
Now, he couldn't even destroy the human world, much less the winged race's realm.
"Will I stay here forever?"
He was unwilling, extremely unwilling!
He's an overbearing being, and things had always gone according to how he wanted them to be. How could this happen to him?
He would never settle for this.
"Humans wouldn't be able to block the passages to the Netherworld, but powerful demons can't cross in casually. Unless those bastards blocked it as well."
Multiple thoughts ran through his head. He was a bit downcast. This wasn't how he thought his awakening would be.
After thinking for a few days, he finally came to a decision.
"I can still faintly sense them. They're my power after all, and a wisp of my soul is attached to them. Entering the human world would be best as it is." He said to himself.
"I'll be reborn in the human world. It's divided into four, so four others will be born at the same time as me. This way, it'll be easier for me to track and merge with my powers."
The Demon King quickly formulated a plan and started to work with it. His strength was limited, but forcing the other parts of his power into the human world would not be difficult for him.
Once he's reborn as a human, he would not only be able to hide in the human world, but he would also be able to merge with his powers without anyone finding out.
After a few months, he had prepared for everything, and it was time for his rebirth. To make his search easier, he forced the powers within the same region where he would be born. Although the distance might be significant, it wouldn't be beyond his reach.
….
In the human world.
Since the departure of the Demon King ten thousand years ago, humans have been progressing.
Demons still plague the human world, but it is not something humans can't handle.
There is a special batch of people known as exorcists. These people had been purging the demons from the human world. Whenever a demon successfully possesses a human, these people exorcise the demons, sending them back to the Netherworld.
Not all humans could be exorcists as the requirements are demanding. Even those who meet the conditions don't always successfully become exorcists.
Exorcists have been keeping the matter of demons under wraps, so not all humans knew of these demons. Only the special ones who are gifted could see them, meeting the first requirement of becoming an exorcist.
On this special day, a strange event took place.
Five lights lit up the sky, shooting across with frightening speed, alarming not just exorcists but normal humans as well.
This was a phenomenon that had never happened before.
The lights flashed through with shocking speed, disappearing almost as soon as they appeared.
If one listened closely, one would hear the curses of a certain someone.
….
The Demon King, who thought he would be able to enter the human world without being noticed, was furious.
The second his soul entered the human world, he seemed to have breached a restriction that alerted humans. Now, everyone knew of his arrival.
The most annoying part is that his powers were pushed further away from him.
"Bastards! You'll all pay. No matter how long it takes, I'll get my revenge."
While he was cursing, a lady in her late twenties was on the verge of giving birth. His soul shot into the body of the lady, wiping out the soul of the baby inside.
This didn't happen here but in four other places as well. The difference was that the souls didn't get destroyed, instead, a strange power entered the bodies of the children still in the womb.
The Demon King and the other four children were born on the same day, at the same time. They were the only ones born at that time.
…..
In a large cathedral.
The figure of a middle-aged man standing with his hands behind his back could be seen. He was dressed in white clothing. His eyes were deep, and his hair showed hints of gray.
At that moment, he was staring at the scripture in a sealed glass.
"He's here."
The Demon King had been born into the human world.
