Chapter 7 - New Environment

Aurora.

I WOKE UP ALONE in a very odd house. I sat up on the bed and looked around. There were some ointments on my body and it smelled like a cat's fur. I rested my back, at least it didn't look like I was in trouble.

I closed my eyes, trying to remember how I got here. From what I remember, I was in the forest, looking for Lucas and then…and then…I'm not so sure.

There was a very big portrait of Lucas on the left wall of the room beside a coffee table which had four cute chairs surrounding it. No doubt, he had finally brought me to his home.

On the opposite side of the wall was another picture of a big cat…or some kind of wild animal. It must have been his pet since he lived in the forest. Did it die?

I stood up, feeling some mild abdominal pain. My body had been patched with some brown clothes which I think were in place of bandages. I tried to touch my back…it hurts. How did I get injured…did I fall victim to his wild animal when I got here?

I walked around. He had a huge deck of a library that stretched from the top of the ceiling to the bottom of the ground. All the books were big and made from leather. The teacups were gold…more like chalice and they looked expensive.

The door swung open and a young lady walked in. Her dormant face smiled when she saw me. "You are finally awake. I have waited for so long. Please, have a seat. I have been told to keep you safe and make sure you get enlightened rest."

She took my hand and made me sit down. She stroked my hair, looked into my eyes and checked my neck. "What clan are you from?" She asked.

I said nothing and you'd marvel at how beautiful she was. Her hair was all white and they were so long, they reached her knee. Her hair was also curly, all the way down. Her brows were equally white and she looked pale and beautiful. Her brows were full and cute. Her lips were in a graceful colour of pink.

"What are you?" I finally asked. She smiled and her cheeks turned red, adding a little make-up to her fairy face. "I get that a lot. I am the Alpha's sister. You must have heard of me…I am a Frostbite. The white Crescent Freya. Does that ring a bell?"

I blinked. "The white Crescent Freya. That's a good nickname to come up with. Can I know where we are? Is it close to school? Mom must be worried about me now. I need to get back home."

She looked at me with her mouth wide open.

"What?" I asked and she blinked.

"What clan are you from? Doesn't seem like you are from any neighbouring clan. That must be the reason why you do not emphasize knowing me. I knew it. Lucky didn't want to tell me he saved you from some beasts in our woods and you kind of have a memory glitch. Poor wolf, I would find your family and make sure they are okay. For now, you need to be with us here and I have to make sure you are safe."

I could not understand any word she was saying but one thing I did understand was that she was going to get to my family and tell my mom everything was alright. I sighed. It would be a great idea to start afresh here. Lucas would be here in a minute and I would be able to question him about what the witch had told me earlier.

"O…Kay," the white Crescent Freya sighed. That's too long to remember but it's spectacular. She stood up and went to a door beside the bookshelf. It was a wardrobe and she pulled out a dress that looked a lot like hers. It's white with a lot of linen and fur. I wore it and looked at her.

"Perfect! I knew I was the best." She took my hand and led me out of the room. Stepping out, I felt like I was in a completely different world. This wasn't just Lucas's house, it looked like a very big palace with different buildings in it.

There were a lot of people walking around and they all seemed to be staring at me. We took the stairs down and she showed me a bigger library. It was the ground floor and the shelves extended up to at least twenty floors higher. "Wow! This has to be the biggest library I have ever seen."

"This is where Lucky comes to when he wants to speak with the ancient ones. It is said that this room holds a very strong sense of silence, loyalty and truth. I have never seen him speak here but I do believe in it. This library has been like this since I was born. No one goes in there to read…they said the books are written in ancient languages."

I nodded and looked around. I felt the urge to reach out for a book but White Crescent Freya took me away. She took me to a dining room where the maids stood behind empty chairs. "What are they doing there?" I asked.

"Don't they do this in your Alpha's home? It's a special way of attending to anyone eating, both wolf and spirit."

We left there and I had to stop her outside the door. "I need to understand something. First, everyone around here is weird. Second, why is there a big place just to be Lucas' home? And lastly, what do you mean by Alpha…wolves…spirits…ancients blablabla. You are not making any sense. You speak like a science nerd and I am an art student."

She took both my hands. She had an apologetic face. "I'm sorry. I didn't know you got so injured that your brain has been damaged. You probably think you are human at this point. Don't worry, you will remember who you are." She placed her hand on her chest. "I swear to help you regain your memory."

I laughed, a very funny person she is. "You know what, never mind. Let's keep going."

She took me to another room where Lucas's picture hung on the wall like the room where I woke up in the morning. "And…we are back here."

"What do you mean?"

"You should take your bath and sleep. I added some wolfing to your wounds. You would be fine in the shower." She left in haste. We have gone in a circle and now, we are back from the room we started from and I had no idea. Everything is wrong with this place. The smell of cat fur…it's everywhere.

As I was going to the bathroom, I caught a glimpse of a book on his shelf that had a green diamond on the cover. The diamond glittered like there was some powered light in it that made it reflect. I reached out and tried to touch it.

The moment I did, something very hard with a very strong force hit my head and I saw myself in tears, yelling out Lucas's name.
