Chapter 15 - Second Quest (4)

Instantly, he no longer heard anything, and slowly, his vision darkened.

'L-Lara... I die!?' Lee Han whispered under his breath but didn't hear Lara's response.

When Lee Han regained consciousness, he was confused about whether he was dead or alive.

Lee Han prayed that he would die in this place and return to the real world at his home. But it seems his prayers were not answered. When he opened his eyes, he saw a small room without a window, lit by a low-wattage yellow lamp hanging above.

His body was curled up on the cold and damp floor. His vest and bow are no longer visible.

'Did someone kidnap me?' He sat up and looked at the black iron door before him.

If he is still alive, whoever kidnapped him is not a monster or undead. This fact gave him a little hope of escaping from this place as long he had his system and space storage.

Lee Han immediately summoned his system; he was very grateful that his system was still there.

'I will be fine!!'

He still has a weapon to fight. And he has plenty of coins to buy high-level weapons to escape from this place.

However, what surprised him was that he couldn't even use his divine eye ability, as if a powerful barrier surrounded the room and stopped him from seeing outside.

Lee Han stood up and walked closer to the door, trying to hear any sound of movement outside.

However, after a few seconds, he tries to overhear something, but he hears nothing.

'I'm alone in this place?'

He slowly raised his hand to turn the doorknob. But as he expected, the door couldn't be opened.

'Lara, are you there?'

Lee Han started to feel worried that Lara was entirely out of his mind because she hadn't responded to him before he lost consciousness.

'Lara, please respond, huh!?'

'M-Master, I'm here—'

He felt relieved to hear the voice he wanted to hear. At least Lara was still with him.

Although Lee Han didn't know Lara's true identity or how strong she was, he knew that Lara had a Divine Eyes ability that was stronger than him and would help him escape from this place.

'Where are we now? Why did I suddenly appear in this room?' Lee Han asked.

'Master, we—' Lara paused. 'Ugh, sorry, Master. I can't use my divine eyes either,' her voice sounded displeased, making Lee Han stunned to find that Lara couldn't use her abilities either.

'Whoever is outside that person is more powerful than me! Master prepare yourself to fight,' she warns him.

'Damn it!' Lee Han cursed. He had no choice but to try to force this door open, even though it would attract whoever brought him here. He didn't care.

'Lara, before I lost consciousness, did you see who hit my head?'

'No. Same with you, I blank out. That time, I felt as if I was trapped in the darkness. As I told you, whoever brings you here, that person's strength is far above us because I didn't notice their present.'

Lee Han took out his handgun from his space storage. Just before he wanted to shoot the doorknob, Lara stopped him.

'Someone outside is heading to this room.' she warns.

Lee Han put back his gun and lay on the floor, with his back facing toward the door — pretending to sleep.

It didn't take long. He could hear the door open and a pair of steps entering the room, stopping just a few steps behind him. His heart tightened.

'Lara, do you recognize that person?' Lee Han asked, but after a few seconds, she did not respond. 'Are you in a blank state again?' Still, there was no response. He was speechless.

"Wake up!! I know you are already awake."

Lee Han was surprised when he heard a female voice.

Curious to know who the woman who captured him was, he turned back to see that person.

He was surprised to see a young woman with short black hair standing there. In her black tactical suit, she looked like a soldier. Her face looked beautiful and harmless; however, her gaze looked cold and dangerous.

Before Lee Han could ask something, the woman said, "Follow me!" she turned and walked out of the room.

He wasn't sure whether this woman was a good person, but he remained alert. He walked behind her while observing their surroundings.

They were in a long hallway with several closed doors between them. He could feel that they were now underground because the only light that illuminated the place came from the yellow lamp above their heads. He didn't see any windows.

After walking for a minute, they arrived at an open space that looked like a gathering room. In the corner of the room, a dining table and a fireplace were visible.

Four men were sitting chatting while eating at the table, but the woman who led him walked past them without saying anything.

Lee Han glanced at the four men. He noticed they all looked stern, had short hair, and wore the same clothes as the woman leading him.

'They are soldiers?' This was the only thought that crossed his mind as he saw their posture and aura.

Soon, the woman opens the door and gestures to Lee Han to enter the room.

The room was like an office with standard, dull furnishings: a sofa and a work desk. To make the room even duller, Lee Han didn't see any windows.

"You might sit," said the woman, her eyes fixed on Lee Han.

Before Lee Han could ask her, the woman shouted angrily, "Who the hell are you trying to ruin my plan?"

"Your plan? What plan?" Lee Han asked, confused.

He didn't feel like ruining someone else's plan; what he had done before was farming Giant Ant Monsters. And, when he was barely out of danger, this woman kidnapped him.

"Killing those vampire ants. Did you know what you did would jeopardize my mission?"

Lee Han was speechless.

How could he know that?
