Chapter 19 - Humiliated

"Attention all, let's move to the meeting room. We have something important to announce," Levy said, leading them to another door in the corner.

As the other adventurers made their way towards the room, Lee Han remained seated, observing their entry into the meeting room.

He hesitated to join; it wouldn't be appropriate to intrude on someone else's gathering, or so he thought.

But as he pondered this, he realized his assumption was mistaken. Zoey's voice distracted him just as he rested his eyes.

"What are you waiting for?"

Lee Han looked up to find Zoey standing before him. "Can I join!?"

"Did you forget why you are here?" Her expression hardened before continuing, "You are a Seraphina person, so of course you will join the meeting. Follow me!"

She entered the room without giving Lee Han time to say anything.

Lee Han couldn't help but smile. He entered the room, surprised to see it was pretty big, like a hall with bright lights.

There was a small stage at the end of the room and a projector hanging from the ceiling. Later, a projector screen appeared on the wall.

In front of the stage were rows of chairs now filled with Adventurers. And, on the small stage, Zoey stood there with a calm expression, looking at the audience.

Lee Han decided to sit in the last row. When he looked at the corner, he saw the weak man he had seen before also sitting there.

He put aside his curiosity about the man and turned his gaze to Zoey, who was about to start the meeting.

"Everyone, as you see, we have a newcomer this morning… his name is Mr. Lee Han," Zoey paused when she saw almost everyone in the room now looking at Lee Han.

"This gentleman is an Adventurer just like us. He came to help us finish this mission." She continued.

Suddenly, the silence faded as they all started to talk, asking about Lee Han's identity and why the reinforcement came from the city only one person.

"Why do they only send one adventurer?"

"Did he have a high level? That's why only this guy who came to assist us?"

"He looks weak. I doubt he has a Gold rank."

"What is the point of silver rank again? We need at least a gold rank to complete this mission!"

"You are right. We need a Gold Rank adventurer. We only have two Gold Rank here."

Levy, who sat in the first row, stood from his seat and shouted, "SILENCE!!" He tried to get everyone to stop talking. "Come on, guys… Let the general finish her words first before you guys speak!"

Instantly, silence hung in the air. And all eyes now focused on Zoey again.

Lee Han, "...."

He never felt humiliated like now. He could clearly hear what they were all saying and felt burdened now because he was the weaker among them.

'Lara, can you use your power to vanish from this place?' Lee Han asked.

Sitting in this room, he feels ashamed. They all need a mighty adventurer, not the weak like him, to assist them.

'I'm sorry, master... I can't.'

Lee Han could only sigh. He hoped that Levy and Zoey did not tell them his rank. He could imagine how they would insult him again if they found out.

But apparently, Zoey deliberately made him even more embarrassed. He exposed him mercilessly.

Fuck!

She said, "Well, you guys are right. He's not as strong as you think. This Mr. Lee Han is only Copper rank—"

"WHAT! Why did they send trash on this mission?"

"Tsk! Can't believe they sent another weakling here."

Lee Han lower his head, unable to meet their insulted gazes.

"Guys, stop blaming him. Maybe this kid is being punished, and they sent him here on a suicide mission..."

"Hahaha, you are right, man!"

"Oh, please, bro... you are so heartless."

Lee Han vents his frustration in his mind hearing their verbal abuse. At that time, he couldn't do anything because he was powerless.

He could only suppress the anger within him while slowly raising his head, looking at the person who said he came for a suicide mission and called him trash.

Soon after...

Lee Han felt a sharp gaze from his right side. He turned and was surprised to see one of the female elves looking at him mockingly. Her gaze only added to Tristan's hurt, causing him to lower his head and again avoid her eyes.

"Well, although Mr. Lee Han is still Copper Rank, you can't underestimate him," Zoey's voice made everyone look back at her. "He is from Princess Seraphina's team. So, don't underestimate his rank..."

Instantly, the room became silent. They were all shocked by Zoey's information.

"Did you guys forget how he killed the Vampire Ant single-handedly?" Zoey's sharp gaze swept across the room, looking at everyone, one after another. And when her eyes fell on Lee Han, who didn't even dare to look at her. She continued her words, "He killed half of the monsters, so, guys... Stop mocking him! He might be the one who helps your life."

Lee Han slowly raised his head to look at Zoey. He was completely confused by this young general.

Why was she suddenly praising him before she was deliberately humiliating him!?

He stared at her sharply as if he wanted to ask her, "What do you want?" with his gaze.

However, Zoey ignored him. She looked at the projector screen, and suddenly, a map of the lonely mountain appeared.

"Okay, let's stop talking about Mr. Lee Han…" Zoey said in a casual tone. But it sounded like an order to make them all sit up straighter and stare at the screen now.

"Let's focus on our mission, killing that damn Victor!! We will attack him tomorrow morning, and the plan is..." Zoey continues to explain their plan.

Lee Han listened to Zoey's explanation in silence. He tried to remember the map, their current position, and their targets.

This underground basecamp was a mile away from their target, on the other side of the mountain, closer to North City, where he first appeared in this kingdom.

He tried to memorize the map and didn't care about their plans. He was here to help someone. Although he didn't know who the person was, the system didn't provide enough information, leaving him confused.
