After Daisy's failure to follow through our plan, Henry and Anna knew they had to do something to watch over Daisy and protect her from any harm that followed. They immediately got to the secret cabin to try and watch the footage that caught Daisy.
Meanwhile, Daisy had reached her destination. She was at the beauty station, pretending to work. Most people were afraid of her. She was safe from them as they would never make eye contact. When she saw the girls stuck there, getting dressed up to sacrifice their lives, she regretted ever causing them harm. The truth was, every single girl she looked at reminded her of the faces of the ones she had killed. She knew this was the only way for any redemption. She had to find out what was really going on behind the exit door of the beauty station. She had to find out what the game master was planning.
Even though Daisy had no feelings for me, she knew saving me from risking my life would help her redeem her soul. She wanted to save my sisters and Sammy for me. I respected her for her decision, even though I thought it was a dumb one. If she got caught, she would end up dead, or lost forever like the rest of the girls. We would lose all hope once again. Daisy had to stay alert. She had to be very careful of every little thing around her.
The beauty station had 12 floors. After all the work was done, the prepared girl was sent to the 3rd floor. It was a restricted area. Only the game master's best guards were allowed to be there apart from the girl who was being sent. I wondered how Daisy would get there.
When Anna and Henry reached the cabin, they saw Daisy. they were completely shocked at what they were seeing. She wasn't dressed up as usual. Her white dress had turned into a raggedy old sweat shirt. The mask she always wore was not covering her face. That is when it hit them; no one knew what Daisy looked like, except the game master. She probably found a way to keep him busy long enough to escape the surveillance, pretending to be an ideal woman. She was going to risk her life and meet the fate of the rest of the girls. I wondered how she planned to escape from there. I wondered how she would tell the guards she wasn't just another ideal woman; she was the game master's mistress. She must have planned something, all we had to do was be patient and stand by to save her.
As she got taken to the beauty station, she watched them dress her up. After a long time, she had dressed up in something other than white. She told me that the game master was very particular about what she wore. He didn't want her to look different every day. He wanted a uniform look from her end. She went through every single level at the beauty station. She had been there before, as the real Daisy. She had been to every single level, criticizing the chosen women. She made them feel ugly and unwanted. That was the Daisy that a monster had created. She was back to her real self now. She smiled through the criticism she received and went through the various procedures taking place. She let them modify her natural beauty.
As she reached the 12th floor, her anxiety was at it's peak. She started to lose her breathe. She knew what was next and she had to stay strong. She had to get through the door and see what was going on. She knew she was going to be in a lot of trouble with the game master once she tried to return but there was nothing stopping her.
Her heart was racing and her legs were shaking. The work at the 12th level of the beauty station was finally over. As the guards held her arms and walked towards the escalator, she resisted their touch. The trauma built up in her body couldn't allow them for it. She continued however, for the sake of her mission.
Every floor they crossed, she felt herself moving closer to the doors of heaven. She knew this was her path, even if she had to endure the fires of hell to get there. Her eyes were teared up imagining what all those women must have gone through when they were being treated like plastic dolls, being dressed up only to be thrown away. She wondered what would have happened if she had not been chosen by the game master. What if she just got taken to the door on the 3rd floor in the beginning itself? Even though she might have lost her life, she would have saved herself a lot of misery. The torturing thoughts inside her head were slowly killing her. With every step, she imagined a new hell unfold in front of her.
As I sat next to my window, waiting eagerly for an update, I imagined what it would have been like if Daisy was never taken. The dreams I had almost forgotten about started creeping into my mind again. The beautiful sunsets we would have watched, all those fun times we would have spent, it would have been amazing. Sammy and Emilia would still be here. My mother would be alive and Jane would have a big plate of chocolate pudding keeping her happy. All would have been well. Suddenly it hit me, I used to be miserable then, praying for a better life when I actually had it all. To compare the Neil back then with who I am now, I have lost my best friend, my sisters, and my dreams. I have been orphaned. I have nothing left to make me want to survive except the tiny amount of hope that Daisy's plan might actually work and I will get them all back. If I lose this tiny speck of hope, I will lose everything.
