A dark room. A room that held the burden of a million traumatic experiences. Daisy had sacrificed her life to an eternity of misery. The extravagant technology that the lair and the beauty station held were nothing compared to the vision that horrified Daisy's eyes. The vision of pain, cruelty, torture and misery, all because they were born women. I was born a feminist, being born in a family having majority of women. I didn't just respect them, I nurtured them. I cherished in their presence and felt a great loss in their absence. Sometimes, I secretly wished to have had this much power within me like that of a woman. Sometimes I secretly longed to be one. This would have been the only situation where I was thankful for being a man, yet so angry at my species that I hated myself.
The room had chairs, almost a million of them. The chairs resembled those you see in a salon, where you lay your head back while your hair is steamed. In fact, the whole situation resembled the steaming devices in salons. The women were tied down however. The steaming device was replaced by electrocuting head gears. The joy a woman would experience at the spa was replaced by the screams of the million women being tortured. They were begging for their lives back; begging to heartless monsters who were unfazed by their pain. I wonder what must be going through their head. Then again, there was no time to think in that room, just a million opportunities to scream one's lungs out. The scrutinizing pain they must be going though was unimaginable.
Daisy' eyes wandered around as she screamed, "take me back! You have the wrong woman! Please, let me go." Even though her heart had given up on itself, her lungs functioned for her, she knew every breath she took could be her last. She knew every word she said could be her last sentence. She had to get out.
"What is going on here?" a voice called. A voice Daisy knew too well. A voice she despised with all her heart. A voice that brought hope with it for her survival. It was the game master. He walked towards the girl, unaware of her identity. While Daisy was scared what he might say or do, she knew he was the only one who could save her from this inevitable fate. When her face was finally revealed, the game master went silent. All the guards had stepped back except the two morons holding onto Daisy. The game master clicked his fingers and like magic, the guards had finally left Daisy's delicate arms. "What have you done, my love?" he sighed. "Why are you dressed up as one of these stupid women? Why aren't you wearing your white gown? Where is your mask? Why have you decided to be taken? Have I not satisfied your every need here? Have I been too liberal that you thought this was a good decision? I am not going to allow these men here to let you leave unless you give me an answer!"
This was the first time the game master had raised his voice at Daisy in public. Even though he was a monster of a man, he always put on the façade of a gentleman.
Daisy was scared. She knew that if she didn't give him a proper reason, her life would officially be over. She hesitantly said, "I am sorry. After the fight we had, I was desperate. I needed to know what you did. I needed to know what all of this was for. I couldn't take being in denial anymore. I had to see for myself. I know the step I took was not smart. It was instantaneous and I should've just waited for you to trust me, but I felt that all our fights lately were because of this plan. I thought you were with all these- "Daisy stopped.
"Please, continue. You thought I was what? I was with all these women? Doing what? I can't believe you would think such low of me. I haven't touched any of these women. They don't belong to me. You, on the other hand, pledged your life to me the second you walked into my life. I own you. You think you can do whatever you want? Well, you are wrong. I made you my priority because I liked you, even though I never told you so. As my priority, you had a responsibility towards me. one mere fight and you switched professions? You want to spy on me? You want to check my intentions with these women? Fine, I will show you. Do you pledge yourself to me again? Do you agree to be mine forever? That is the only way you find out the truth. Otherwise, you can stay in the dark forever." The game master had yet again proved his misogyny with his words.
Daisy had a role to play. She had to make sure she escaped the hole she had dragged herself into. She said, "I am sorry. You own me. I should have asked you before taking this step. What should I do to earn your forgiveness?"
The game master smirked as he said, "I will tell you what you have to do. There is only one way you can escape this place, the torture ahead of you and the life you almost planned for yourself. There is one way you can find out the truth about all of this. There is one way you can make all this right and put this mistake you made completely off my mind. You can make me forget your wrong doings and prove to me once and for all that you pledge yourself to me. Prove to me that you are my property. Prove to me that I can do as I please to you because I own you. Prove to me you are mine. Say yes to this opportunity that I am going to present to you. Marry me."
